Sad, introspective, worthy music?

That is all.
The Rustle of the Stars
Listening to: Birdy 'The District Sleeps Alone Tonight'
1.
Read this.
It's lovely and oh so true.
2.
Mind...blown.
Twenty five years have gone by and i've never been privy to this information.
My life is a lie.
Who knows what else i'm doing wrong?!
Darn.
Does a Star Wars sweatshirt count as super?
Also, how much does this illustration of Walter White by Sam Spratt kick ass?
Also also, please just take a few minutes to really look at this drawing and appreciate how disgustingly beautiful it is.

This shall be celebrated with a hat.

Ascot.
I haven't decided yet.
But there will be a hat.
Yessum.
Maybe even a cape.
Too much?

Spotify, i adore you and i don't feel that bad using you because i actually pay for your services.
Like a musical strumpet.
Goodbye adverts.
Hello never-ending stream of any music i have a hankering for.
But i refuse to give up on physical music until the very last cd is ever produced.
Even then, i'll still search them out.
My loyalty has been somewhat lacking of late and i'm determined to put that right.
I can already feel my bank balance glowering at me.
I miss small, run down, musty record stores with treasures eagerly awaiting their new owner to discover them and fall head over heels.
Rob Gordon had one of my top five dream jobs and it's been ripped from my clutches.
Championship Vinyl, why can't you be real?
Progression sucks.
Watching: Game of Thrones
Baby Sinclair's my hero.
You can watch the entire series here.
A cacophonous shit storm of sugary sweet, commercial pop songs duking it out to see who can make your ever-so-sensitive-to-crap-music temples implode first.
Taylor Swift, i don't like you, get out of my head.
This might run her off:
Welcome to the aged club.

Listening to: Halloween, Alaska 'After The Flood'
Just listen to this album.
Never before have i come across a tribute album with so many exceptional cover songs.
It doesn't miss a single beat.
From Halloween, Alaska covering After The Flood, to Do Make Say Think staying true to the instrumental gem on their version of New Grass.
It's perfect and cover albums are rarely that.
If you don't come away from listening to this 2-disc love letter addressed to a long worshipped band wanting to take the law into your own hands and marry it, then i'm sorry to say but you have no soul.
At least not musically.
This album also gives me hope that Thomas Feiner will re-enter the music world in the near future.
No one has a voice like Feiner and i miss it terribly.
The Opiates - Revised will forever remain an inspired collection of faultless music, that if i tire of, i will eat one of my many and ridiculous hats.
So...
Be a good music lover...
and LISTEN!

If you're anything like me, then you loathe smooth scrolling to its very core.
Horrible, jerky, recalcitrant little monster of a creation.
So, if you download Mountain Lion, all your free will pertaining to this feature is seemingly stolen away from you.
Cruel Mountain Lion, i have rights y'know.
You can take the scrolling power back, however, with a neat little piece of coding.
Here's how:
Open Finder from your dock.
Click on Applications.
Open the Utilities Folder.
Locate the Terminal Application.
Enter this code:
defaults write -g NSScrollAnimationEnabled -bool NO
Close Terminal.
And everything else.
If not open already, load Safari or whichever browser you favour.
Then scroll happily without feeling as if your eyes are in some form of spasmodic failure.
This is necessary information that i think every irritable Mac user should be informed of.
This won't break your computer.
I swear.
Listening to: Purity Ring 'Fineshrine'
Once Mountain Lion has finished taking its sweet time to download, i've got some Bad Education, Bad Sugar and bloody millions of trailers to catch up on.
I have an unhealthy addiction to trailers.
This was a misguided present to give me possession of.

A stranger has come
To share my room in the house not right in the head,
A girl mad as birds
Bolting the night of the door with her arm her plume.
Strait in the mazed bed
She deludes the heaven-proof house with entering clouds
Yet she deludes with walking the nightmarish room,
At large as the dead,
Or rides the imagined oceans of the male wards.
She has come possessed
Who admits the delusive light through the bouncing wall,
Possessed by the skies
She sleeps in the narrow trough yet she walks the dust
Yet raves at her will
On the madhouse boards worn thin by my walking tears.
And taken by light in her arms at long and dear last
I may without fail
Suffer the first vision that set fire to the stars.
Love In the Asylum
It probably won't stay with you very long after you've watched it.
It isn't a great movie.
Did i enjoy it?
Yeah.
I really did.
The story pulls you in.
The girls playing the abandoned chinese students are so believably horrified it's somewhat emotionally exhausting, especially through an attempted, multiple rape scene.
There was a knot in my stomach that not many films can stir.
Christian Bale does a not so terrible job of remembering how to act.
I think he misses his bat cave, though.
The women playing the prostitutes have just the right amount of damaged humour, mixed with a believable terror all of their own.
It has somewhat of a predictable story but it works.
It doesn't overplay the horrific events of Nanking but it does make you see them, feel them and most certainly remember them.
Bale perhaps transforms from a drunken, self-serving wretch a tad too quickly.
Only near the end do you get an insight into why he's such a mess and why he helps protect these people.
It's not perfect.
It could have been something special but alas, that is not always the way.
I'll watch it again.
Forever fascinated by Christian Bale's mouth.
All i see are the door knockers from Labyrinth when he talks.
But it isn't a triumph.
It's not Empire of the Sun.
Nice try Bales, it was good but better luck next time?
Listen listen.
You won't regret it and if you do, i'll accept vengeance in the form of comments filled with colourful language that i will enjoy and never publish.
Remember these?
I may have listened to this album at least twelve times on Spotify already but it doesn't matter a damn until i can get my paws on a physical copy.
Screw you digital age.
That goes for ebooks as well.
I'm a troglodyte and that's ok.
