off to war

January 17, 2013

On the 17th of January 2013, i woke up to discover two unexpected gifts.
I didn't see this coming.
I didn't even think Armin Mersmann would have any knowledge of my blog - it's so little - let alone take the time to write me such a thoughtful, honest and above all, supportive message.
I think i forget sometimes that i'm not the only artist in the world.
That sounds incredibly narcissistic but it's the simple fact that i live with myself every day, i'm only capable of knowing how i feel at all times and i'm not one to share.
I'll put it all over the internet, however.
More making of the sense that is not, my speciality.

I regret not talking to my university friends about the feelings of inadequacy that were debilitating me while i was still in education.
They were probably feeling just the same and would not have been able to fix my problems but perhaps then i wouldn't have felt so small and so alone in my situation.
To be a Fine artist in a contemporary art school is not easy, thus why i fled so spectacularly.
This year i'll be receiving my Ordinary Degree, after 4 years of the university kindly holding my space open so i could complete with my Honours.
Which i can do whenever i wish.
Hopefully they'd reaccept me but i'm not entirely sure DOJ is the place for me.
I'm not even sure if art is the right choice for me and until i know that i won't be returning to any institution of art.
It's really rather hard for someone like myself, who's ultimate goal within university was to receive a 1st and couldn't even bring themselves to start their final year.
It's all i wanted but i was a mess and it shouldn't have been what being an artist at art school was about.
I should have just wanted to create, instead i wanted to win.
Unhealthy but understandable.
I still want that 1st, i think i always will but if i go back to complete my degree, i just want to produce something that touches people.
Something i'm proud of.
But not too proud!

So, thank you Mr Mersmann
I can't tell you how much receiving your message meant to me and how much it's given me to think about.
Happy Birthday for tomorrow and please keep producing your sublime works of art.
They may leave me timid but they are truly wonderful things to behold.

Also, to anyone who is currently at art school or even doing it solo and finds themselves in the same situation as i, message me if you'd like.
I can't fix it but i can empathise.
With bells on.

My other gift of the day was from my Mum.
It's always nice to wake up to a present, especially when you are utterly undeserving because of the ungodly hour you've finally dragged yourself out of bed to attempt functioning like a normal human being.
I won't tell you the hour but it was pretty bad.
The sun was going back down.
Shame, shame on me.
Thanks Mum.
You may be the only one i have but i still kinda think you're the best one.

Feel free to make barfing noises behind your computer screens at my unabashed soppiness!
I care not!

I was so hoping you'd engage in some nerdy meta behaviour.
And the t shirt fits well? I did hold it up against the shadow puppets t shirt when it arrived and it was slightly bigger so i assumed it'd fit.
You're so lucky i didn't keep it :)

Did you go see Frances Ha?
Greta Gerwig is adorable.
I bet you were in the cinema and i wasn't even out of bed yet. Lordy. Please tell me how you manage to not sleep the day away? I do love my nighttime hours but i miss being awake to see people first thing. I couldn't get up until 2:30pm today and yesterday and the day before that!
And i've done nothing all day apart from sit on the couch with a giant cup of tea, a hot water bottle and Crazy, Stupid Love playing on the tv. I mean, that's an awesome day for someone who actually utilises their time and deserves to sit on their arse all day but not me!
Ugh.
Ugh ugh ugh!

Ps. Was the Galactic Shoe Box special in some way?

I did see Frances Ha and Greta Gerwig is adorable. I don't think I could live with her though. Frances, I mean. She's very messy :) Excellent film recommendation, Lilliputty. Thanks very much :) A film about a 27 year old who doesn't know what to do with her life & hasn't quite grown up. That's pretty much me! Except that she was a lot cooler, smarter & sociable than I'll ever be :)

The film started at 3pm, so you were out of bed :) Don't be so hard on yourself, Lilliputty. You deserve awesome days. Anyway, I know you can get up early when you have to. That's pretty much the same as me. I just have to do it a bit more often is all.

I think you do way more with your time than I do. I mean, you enjoy way more things. You're interested in and learn about way more things too. That's why you're a better and more interesting and fun person to talk to than me.

One of the annoying things about getting up at the same time as everyone else is having to wait for the bathroom :) Ugh, I often have to wash the night before because I have so little time in the morning. I much prefer my family being out of the house when I get up, unsociable little creature that I am :)

Do you have a routine, Lilly?

Ps. It was just a normal shoe box with Converse written on it. Still, I would have liked you to have their proper box :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilliputty

I forgot to say that the t shirt fits extremely well. Sorry girlface, I'm keeping it. It's mine, all mine, buahahaha :)

What kind of hot water bottle do you have? A Totoro hot water bottle? :)

Squish

Uhhhhhhgggghhhhh! There's a demon in my belly and its name is Watermelon!

"That's why you're a better and more interesting and fun person to talk to than me."

Shut your whore mouth! Hah, i say that to my sisters when they're being stupid too. :)

Do i have a routine?! Oh god. My routine is so obsessive it worries me. Especially when said routine is interrupted. I get so irritable and mean. I don't like showering when no one's in the house though. It weirds me out.
I had a complete toothbrushing fail a few days ago. Sometimes i lose concentration, which normally only results in me having brushed me teeth for a stupid long time but this time i ended up with toothpaste all over my favourite bedtime baseball t shirt. Vanish to the rescue! You'd think i was still a 6 year or something. Sigh.

Ughhhh, Watermelon!

Dex said...

Poor Lilly. What do you do when there are demons in your belly?

I lose concentration when brushing my teeth too! I brush my teeth in a specific sequence but I often lose track and have to start again. Or I end up choking on the toothpaste and coughing up all over the sink. And I'm so obsessive about cleaning my back teeth that I push the toothbrush so far back and set off my gag reflex about 4 times every session. Whore mouth indeed! :)

I like showering when no one is in the house :) I have to lock all the doors to the house though. I always keep the doors locked whenever I'm home alone.

Ps. Yay, you finished 'North and South'. I'm so envious of your capacity for books. Your book page is glorious! :) Ugh, why can't I enjoy things that much? It's one of the things I love about you, Lilliputty. That and your foul mouth. Your sisters are lucky :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilly x

Have a super night, sleep, day & evening, awesome girl. And you get to start a new book. Book wizard :)

Your blog! I thought 'Fitting My Fingers Into The Glove Of My Flesh' was really lovely to watch.

Ps. I hope you're feeling better and have managed to expunge the Watermelon demon from your belly. We talk about the most pleasant things :)

It smells like farm in my neighbourhood. They must be fertilising again. Blech. Each time i venture outside, i come back inside with my face like this:

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KP8rKK00MgE/TduM4QmWzrI/AAAAAAAAA8A/EceLcCAx284/s1600/buffy%20yuck.gif

No matter how long you live in the countryside, there is just no getting used to it!

"I push the toothbrush so far back and set off my gag reflex about 4 times every session. Whore mouth indeed! :)"

I choked, i was laughing so hard. Filth! You'd make a terrible prostitute i'm afraid :)

Are you reading anything just now Dexterous?

Ps. There's a demon in my belly today. His name is not Watermelon though. He goes by the name of Fuckface. I don't know what he's doing in there or where he came from but he's hurting me and i don't like it. Hrumph.

Dex said...

Do you live near fields, Lilliputty? You've probably told me this before. My memory :(

In Lerwick, it's the fish factory. All it takes is the wrong wind direction on a warm day. Disgusting. Doesn't reach Westerloch though :)

I had the most delightful exchange with someone at work today while ordering lunch:

Her: I'll have a brown tuna salad sandwich.
Me: I'll have a white crispy bacon roll with cheese.
Her: You bastard.

I'm reading 'Wyrd Sisters' at the moment. Tell me some stuff about you & Discworld, Lilly. I mean, only if you want to. Sorry if that seems a bit vague. I just like listening to you tell me about things you enjoy.

More belly demons :( Fuckface sounds like one of the worst. Are you gonna watch something tonight to take you mind of it?

I'm gonna have a hard time looking at myself in the mirror whenever I brush my teeth from now on. Thanks Buffy Face :)

Ps. I was secretly very happy that you sent me books. I'm glad you have a little faith in me :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilliputty

And I'm not seriously expecting you to tell me all about Discworld tomorrow :) I love listening to you talk about the things you enjoy, but I prefer you telling me about whatever you feel like telling me then & there, if that makes sense. Ugh, I confuse myself sometimes.

And I know I'm pushing my luck, but here is some music.

Pps. You're definitely a tv slut. It's part of your awesomeness :)

Louise Boyd said...

Uppermost 'Beautiful Light' - Oh my goodness. I found and downloaded it after the first 15 seconds. Super awesome find, Dex! You're definitely getting better at this :)

It's so severely cold in Blair today. I kind of like it though. I'm enjoying scurrying under my covers and creating a little bubble of heat all for myself and wearing heavy cardigans again. Such an old lady.
I can't wait for the air to change around October time. It's one of the best parts of the year when the scents change and Autumn's always puts me in the mood for Halloween. Must dig out some horror movies to goggle at in the nighttime hours. I did get Cabin in the Woods for my birthday. I'll finally get to know the twist!
What do you think about this new film they're advertising, You're Next? Empire gave it 4 stars and says it won't disappoint but i don't know whether to trust them anymore. Reviewers keep letting me down. I'd been so excited to see The Place Beyond The Pines and it was so mediocre and just a waste of talent. Hrumph.

Discworld and I? Hmm, there's not much to tell other than i have an unhealthy love for Nanny Ogg and i very much enjoy trying to cast my favourite characters for the movie adaptations i so desperately want to happen - Julie Walters would be Nanny Ogg by the way and Helen Mirren, Granny Weatherwax. I've never been very sure about Magrat. Perhaps Lucy Punch but i'm not sure if that's right.
I do this with everything by the way and i get overjoyed when actual film adaptations cast someone i think is perfect. Like Daniel Craig as Blomkvist in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Do you do this? Is it just me? Am i insane?!

Dex said...

Y'know, I'm terrible for finding out about new films :( I get most of my information from you, my go-to-girl. And my knowledge about actors is so poor it's embarrassing. Ugh, I know so little about anything.

I don't think you realise how much I learn from you :)

I think it's awesome that you cast people for film adaptations in your head :)

It must be awful when they cast people you don't think are right for adaptations of books you love. Has anyone ever surprised you by being awesome when you thought they would suck? Or vice versa?

And probably a ridiculously difficult question, but what's the most perfect adaptation of a book you've read?

To be honest, 'You're Next' looks like a film I would only watch once. But my taste in films is notoriously crap. I watched 'House of Wax' the other day, and would happily do so again. Shameful. And 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III'. Did you know Viggo Mortensen was in that?! That man keeps springing up all over the place :)

I can't wait to see what films you choose for Halloween :)

Finally, something that cheered me up today. Some of the team names at the film quiz in Mareel (I didn't go, but someone told me).

William Shatner Face
I'm Mareel Boy

It took me ages to get the first one :)

Ps. I've wanted to see 'Heavy Metal' for the longest time. You and all the stuff you buy. I'd marry you for your collections :)

Pps. Peaches :)

G'night lovely Lilly

I hope you're still wrapped in your little heat bubble :)

I've never noticed the change of scent in the air when it's Autumn. Why can't I be more like you? I want to enjoy these things too. I've always dreamed of going to Japan to see the Autumn leaves.

I'm glad you liked the song :) I'm always happy if I find something you like. I wish I knew more about the kind of things you blog about so I could share them with you.

Was 'The Place Beyond The Pines' really so disappointing? I never did see it.

Anyway, I hope a lot of nice things happen to you between now & tomorrow evening :) You're my Maggot. Nudge.

Dex said...

Hi Lilly.

You've probably heard of this film. The plot sounds kinda like Battle Royale & The Hunger Games.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDnAJV3Rzr4

Dex said...

Sorry to flood you with comments, Lilliputty.

Do you think you'd watch this? It seems to have the same premise as a German film I saw a little while ago about a classroom experiment (The Wave), but much less 'real'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4wqCC3U9SA

Louise Boyd said...

I would watch the crap out of both those movies. I imagine they'll both have their problems and clichés but i think they could probably be ignored.
I do love a bit of survival of the fittest.

Hmm, a perfect adaptation? Ugh that's really hard. I'm not sure it exists. Or i've blanked completely. I have to say though, that as far as casting goes, The Harry Potter movies actually did a bloody good job. Alan Rickman as Severus Snape and Gary Oldman as Sirius Black? That's perfection.
I'm going to have think about this.
I think i remember ones i've been pissed off by more than the good ones! I'm still raging over Gone Girl's casting. Ughhhhhh.
Oh! That reminds me. We Need To Talk About Kevin. That was perfect casting. In every single way and it was shot exactly as i saw it in my head. Have you seen it/read it?

You know what was a travesty? Eric Bana in The Time Traveller's Wife. Yuck. Seriously yuck. I love him, he's hilarious and can be quite the fine actor when he wants to be - seen Hanna? - but as Henry? No. Just no. I wanted Billy Crudup circa Almost Famous. I should be allowed to cast these damn movies, everyone else gets it wrong!

Rant over.

How are you enjoying Wyrd Sisters?

Dex said...

I've never read the Harry Potter books. Is that bad? I've seen the first 2 films. I went to see 'The Philosopher's Stone' with my mum in the Garrison Theatre when it first came out. I loved Alan Rickman, even back then :)

I feel so inferior when you talk about books & films. I must seem very ill-educated. I haven't seen 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' or 'Hanna'. I hadn't even heard of 'Hanna'. I had to look it up. You do like your fairy tales, don't you? :)

I also looked up Gone Girl to see what you were raging about. Ben Affleck. Oh, now I get it :)

I'm enjoying 'Wyrd Sisters' muchly. Just to give you some warning, I'll probably be asking you to recommend a Discworld purchase when I've finished :)

Do you know what I get very anxious about when talking to people? That I can't sustain a conversation because I have so little knowledge about anything, and that I don't have a personality or an opinion or an original thought to express, or I'm so crap at expressing it. I just don't know what I could talk about with someone, even for 5 minutes, without boring them to death. Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm lucky that you put up with my inane chatter :)

Have you had a good day, Lilliputty? I'd like if you told me some things about it :)

Ps. I love your rants :) And please don't ever stop talking to me about books I've never read, films I've never seen, music I've never heard...I'd be far less knowledgable without you :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilly :)

Please ignore my low self-esteem issues these last few days. I mean, you sometimes like the things I post here, so I must be doing okay :) I do still think you're the coolest girl in the world though, so I'm bound to feel a bit inferior. I'll shut my whore mouth before you tell me to :)

Something cool I learned tonight because your blog made me want to look it up on wikipedia. - 'Charon is the ferryman of Hades who carries souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron that divided the world of the living from the world of the dead.' - Thanks girlface :)

Sorry Lilly, I haven't asked how you've been feeling lately. I've just assumed you're okay. Anyway, you know I'm here if you want to talk about anything, or if you don't want to talk but want someone to talk to to be here for when you don't want to talk. I doubt that makes sense any place except in my head :)

Ps. I've been looking forward to Necropolis ever since you blogged about it a few months back - 'It's me you should fear, you stupid, dead things.' :)

Wahhhhhh i'm so cold. I need my hot water bottle but i'm too lazy to make it up. Sigh. First world problems.

How you doing Dexterous?

"Do you know what I get very anxious about when talking to people? I just don't know what I could talk about with someone, even for 5 minutes, without boring them to death."

Soooo you just described the exact, and i mean exact!, feelings i have when confronted with people. It's terrible, isn't it? Do people take you for being standoffish, when really you're just having a panic attack in your head because you can't even form a fucking sentence?
I need Charon to ferry me over to my circle of hell already. At least i won't have to make small talk there. Or will i? Will that be my hell? Making small talk until the end of time?! Shit. I'm not gonna sleep tonight.
I loveeee all the hell mythology. I basically drowned myself in it during my second to third year of university. I was always very fond of the rivers. Lethe especially. It's the river of forgetfulness. The dead or 'shades' as their more commonly known in this particularly mythology were required to drink from the river in order to forget their previous lives. It made them surrender more easily to their fate. I love that. It's named after the river goddess of the same name, she was the personification of oblivion.
Christ, i need to start studying this stuff again. It's truly fascinating. I don't think i was ever as invested in my artwork as i was when studying Dante's Inferno.

I just beat you over the head with information. Sorry about that! :)

You better be watching The Great British Bake Off. It's pie week!

Ps. PEZ! Pez pez pez :) I very much enjoy devouring sweets out of Hello Kitty's goth noggin. How're your pixie sticks fairing? All gone?

Dex said...

I'm fine thanks, Lilliputty :) Had a day off today. What about you?

I'd make up your hot water bottle if I was there :) I used to do it all the time for my mum. I was a little swot, as my brother would call me :)

I think people do see me as standoffish, or at least someone very boring to talk to, or a people hater as someone very kindly referred to me as the other week. I always get the impression that they would much rather talk to someone else and that they are just being nice by talking to me. Pity talk :)

I never talk in group situations. There's someone at work who always jokingly chastises me for monopolising the conversation at break time because I never say anything :) I really do try when it's just me and someone else, but it feels so unnatural and forced.

The major thought running through my head in almost any conversation is "please don't stop talking because I have no idea what I'm going to say to you once you've finished". So yeah, total panic attack :(

How do you cope when you're out & about?

"I just beat you over the head with information." - Um, you do know that I love when you do that, don't you? :) Honestly, I could listen to you talk about the things you're interested in for a long while. And I love the way you write about it too. I mean, you make me want to learn about all these things when you write about them. Who else in my life is gonna tell me about awesome things like the river of forgetfulness and make it sound so cool? :) Was hell mythology a big part of your artwork in university?

Drowning yourself in hell mythology - that does make you sound a bit like an emo girl :)

I'm glad you're enjoying the Pez. A pity the shop didn't have a Darth Vader one :) It was kinda a last minute purchase. I really wanted to make you a retro gamer kit but I was so useless at getting my act together for the sweets.

Ps. - Pie week! Ugh, I so need to buy a television for my room.

Pps. - I was eating about 4-5 a day of the pixie sticks, but I've cut down because I know I'm gonna be sad when they've all gone :)

Lilly's Rules For Socialising:

1. Do not make eye contact.
2. If walking, do not stop until destination and do not dawdle!
3. Avoid anyone that may wish to talk.
4. Remember to breathe.

I'm fucking insane.
But you're right, i was a bit of an emo Inferno loving girl.
I got over the emo part though. No more extreme sweep of a fringe for me. Gone is the black hoodie of doom and the ridiculously baggy jeans have been banished forever.
Now i'm a knit-wearing, skinny jeaned, obscene number of sneakers kind of girl. Plus all the lame/awesome/nerdy sweatshirts i own.
I like this way better. And if i wasn't such a self-conscious butterball, i'd definitely be the kind of girl that scampers around in dresses and clunky boots. Like Angela Chase, the queen of the 90s.

Ramble ramble ramble.
I'm quite tired. But i've done basically nothing all day. Wtf kind of logic is that?
I've got the hospital tomorrow. Yuck. More talking about 'feelings' with a stranger. I should not have agreed to this shit. I'm sure it'll help but good god do i feel like a walking cliché.

Oh well, i think i'm gonna go torment my sister for fun for a while. Fun fun fun.

Dex said...

Your rules for socialising pretty much describe how I get to & from places whenever I have to leave the house.

Do you sometimes wonder how the two of us would get along if put in the same room? You'd probably throw me out. Then come and get me. Then throw me out again :) Not that it'd bother me in the slightest. I like being alone a lot of the time too :) Actually, left to my own devices, I doubt I'd see anyone, ever. Scary thought. And kinda pleasant. Ugh, I'm so unsociable. Still, I reckon I'd always make an exception in your case, safe in the knowledge that you'll get tired of me fairly quickly and send me back to my own room :)

What the fuck am I going on about? :)

Anyway, I like the way you dress. I mean, from the little I've seen & what you tell me. It's very 'you' :) It's the only way I can describe it. You've obviously got an awesome & unique fashion sense. But I'd love to see you scampering around in a dress & clunky boots. I can totally picture it & it's a nice picture :)

Talking of fashion, I saw a video on youtube the other day of my old 6th year classmates that someone made for the Christmas Show (fortunately, I wasn't in it). We looked terrible! Even the popular, cool kids. I could hardly believe it. We looked like we should be hanging around on street corners, scaring pensioners. It was that bad! :)

Doing nothing makes me tired too! It's definitely not an unreasonable reaction :) And activity wakes me up. I don't know how that works, but it does.

Ps. You're not 'fucking insane', a 'butterball', or a 'walking cliché', okay. Also, I don't really think that reading about hell mythology made you an emo girl. I know that you were though :)

Pps. I remember My So-Called Life :) My brother used to have the tapes in his room. And Buffy. And X-Files. He was so much cooler than me, damn him.

Ps. I'm super happy right now. Just watched Archer for the first time ever. You really do know what I like. I don't think I can say that about anyone else. Maggot :)

Louise Boyd said...

Evening, Fungus. How's Friday the 13th treated you? It's been rather tense in my house today. I blame the date.

I'm real glad you like Archer. Not that it matters. If you hadn't like it i would have bullied you into it :)
Got a favourite character yet? I find it insanely hard to choose. I do have a special fondness for Pam. She's so depraved. It's beautiful.
You do know that the voice of Archer is also the voice of Bob in Bob's Burgers, right? They did a crossover in Archer of the two series. I have yet to see it but my sister tells me it's a thing of beauty. I can't wait for BB to come out in the uk. I could just order it from America but there's something satisfying about buying it from your own country.
If only Veronica Mars would get it's act together and release some Region 2s! And Adventure Time! I just checked, Adventure Time season 1 is being released at the end of the month. Huzzah!

Have i just talked about a whole load of shows you don't watch?
My sister's watching Heroes at the moment. I keep catching episodes in the kitchen and being reminded of how bad it was after the first season. So sad when a show with a good premise goes down the televisual pan.

In keeping with the tv route, i watched Cabin in the Woods last night and all i can really say is that i insist/demand/decree that you must watch it immediately. And you have to because i'm obviously the boss of you. Yes yes.

Dex said...

Good evening, Miss Maggot.

Friday the 13th made me angsty. Workmen in the house, making a mess. Grrrr. Good thing I was at work most of the day, but I came home in a right mood. I had to furiously vacuum the entire house after they left to calm myself down! I'm a crazy person :)

I'm sorry things have been quite tense at home. Did you manage to escape at all & go for a walk or something? Have you managed to break the mini iPad's hold over you and take some exercise? Not that I'm reprimanding you :)

No favourite characters in Archer just yet, but I'll let you know :) I get the impression that I haven't experienced the full extent of Pam's depravity. Looking forward to that :) And I did know the voice of Archer is the voice of Bob! I think he also did a voice in Family Guy. The character's name escapes me, but they used him for Yoda in the Star Wars episodes.

You always talk about shows I don't watch :) To be fair on myself, I have seen Bob's Burgers. And I have heard of Vernoica Falls. But Adventure Time is something that has completely passed me by. I didn't even know it was a cartoon. Do you think I'd like it?

How do you know so much?! Have you made a deal with a demon for knowledge about every awesome thing that has ever hit the screens, airwaves or printed page?

Okay, so that's 'Cabin in the Woods' ordered from Amazon, just because you told me to (and the gifs) :) And I'm totally with you on the ordering from here and not US. Much more satisfying :) Do you know what's really pissing me off at the moment? They've released another volume of American Dad in the UK but in an NTSC format. Why?! Rant, rant, rant :)

"Dramatic episode number 11164.

Welcome friend, join your fellow crackerjacks on the irrational crazy couch of Fruitloopville.

They've got Pop Tarts and Jenga.

But watch out, they bite."

There's nothing wrong with you, except that you're probably too amazing for this world :)

'i'm-going-to-lick-your-face-when-you're-not-looking-andyoumightjustenjoyit' voice? Hah! Where do you get this stuff? :)

And I have to know what kind of cereal you were eating?

Down to business.
Omn - Betwixt. I really loved this. End of. It got blogged.
Tea Leigh. Have to say i preferred the Pleasure Curses remix to the original but either way an enjoyable song.
You're definitely getting better at this Fungus my dear.
I do think perhaps you need to work on your OCD cleaning habits though. Remember to breathe, the dirt won't hurt you...unless it mutates and starts to eat you alive...but what are the chances of that happening?!
Instead, i think you should watch Adventure Time on youtube and discover it's amazingness - totally a word, just go with it. Peter Stormare voices a character called Sir Slicer and it is a most wondrous thing :)
Another show you should watch: Dead Like Me. It only had two seasons but who cares, it starred Mandy Patinkin as a reaper. Genius. Just avoid the film they made after the series ended. It's something that should never be mentioned in polite conversation.

Enjoy TCITW when it arrives! If you don't like it we can still be friends but i will throw random insults at you about it until the end of time. Like Tourettes with a purpose. Just warning you in advance :)
How does Cowboy Bebop fair on Blu-ray by the way? Does it look smashing and somewhat edible?

Dex said...

Hell can wait. We had a nice day. So I was alive and warm. It's supposed to be fucking awful tomorrow though. Just to make you feel better :)

What did you do today, Lilliputty? I hope you were wrapped in a warm bubble with a hot water bottle.

I don't know what to do about my obsessive cleaning. You'll be glad to know that it doesn't stem from my fear of man-eating dirt :)

I'll definitely watch Adventure Time & Dead Like Me. As soon as I've finished Archer. And I've nearly finished Wyrd Sisters. I love Magrat :) Do you have a favourite Discworld book? And I'm gonna start using skyclad instead of naked :)

I like when you recommend tv, books, films, music etc. You're the only person I know who has a pretty good idea of what I like.

I always think of Peter Stormare's character in Fargo when I want food - "I'm fucking hungry now, y'know" :)

"If you don't like it we can still be friends but i will throw random insults at you about it until the end of time. Like Tourettes with a purpose. Just warning you in advance :)"

I pretty much assumed that's what you'd be doing anyway :)

Oh, and Cowboy Bebop on Blu-ray is smashing, as I knew it would be, especially when wearing the proper attire, and couldn't be more edible even if I dipped the dvd in melted chocolate and sprinkles :) Have you thought about a live action cast?

Off to watch Naked Gun 22 1/2 soon :) Are you watching something with as much amazingness? I like stealing your vocabulary :)

Hi Lilly

Sorry to bother you. Just finished Wyrd Sisters a few minutes ago. It must seem very childish that I couldn't wait 'til later to tell you :)

I'm no good with words when it comes to describing books and the like, but I enjoyed it very much. I mean very, very much indeed. Thanks for the lovely present, girlface :)

Hmm, you should start a magazine with all your thoughts on books, films, art, music, tv, fashion, food, design, fluffy animals etc. :) I'm only half-joking by the way. I seriously think it would be amazing. You could get your sisters to contribute. That should cover pretty much everything :)

Ps. I hope those 3 actors dressed as witches ended up being released :) And that the coven does meet up again.

Louise Boyd said...

Magrat is a delight. I always felt a kinship with her clumsy self. She's a little useless but she means well, like me :)

Soooo i guess you'll be wanting a recommendation for your next DW venture!
Now this could get complicated because i've not actually read as many as i would have liked and it depends on whether you want to stick with the witches or move onto Death or the wizards or the guards and so on and so forth. And! it depends on whether you want to read them in any kind of order. It is recommended but i don't believe it matters all that much. Your choice! Specify and i shall instruct.

If i started a magazine with my sister it would be a complete disaster. An awesome idea in theory but really we have conflicting tastes and battle for control when collaborating. We all have our complexes y'know. Sarah's the eldest so it's just in her nature to be bossy and think she knows best, Emily's the middle child so she doesn't feel like a little sister so she battles with Sarah for leadership and it ends in grumpy hate-fuelled disaster and then there's me, the little one, the baby of the family who's constantly taken care of because i'm small, fragile and incapable of leading anything but i have opinions and loud ones at that so i fight fight fight and lose lose lose because it's so fucking cute when i get mad. Uchhhh. They can bite me as far as i'm concerned. So you see, it would end in us killing each other :)

I got a bit ranty there didn't i? Sorry! (not really)

It's been such a stressed out Sunday. My Dad decided today was an awesome day to take apart our utility room and total the house whilst doing it. Idiot.
Everyone was very angry at each other, it was lovely and i've just finished arguing with Emily about something i'm not even totally sure about and it's the second time today that's happened!
I need a punching bag or a willing person to let me punch out my rage on them. That would do nicely!
I hope your Sunday's been much better than mine, spent lazing around in Cowboy Bebop attire, with cups of tea and cake. Jealous :(

"I like when you recommend tv, books, films, music etc. You're the only person I know who has a pretty good idea of what I like."

Brother from another mother! Buaha :) I'll never stop saying it. Even if the Cool Police try to stop me i never shall! Never!
I think all the tension in the house is making me loopy...loopier.

Hmmm a live action cast of CB? I haven't actually. I think i need to watch more of it. I just got tired of watching it on my laptop so i didn't get very far. I will buy the dvds as some time. I will! On Blu-ray of course :)
I did see a picture of Bendyball Cumberquat as Spike somewhere and it looked pretty cool but i'm not sure he'd work. Maybe a little too British. What do you think?

So, you don't think the magazine idea would work? :) What you need is someone in between. Like an editor. Do you think that would be an impossible job? Oh well, at least I still have you to tell me what to think. I love your loud opinions. And your rants :)

I sometimes wonder about your household. I kinda picture it like a treasure trove of awesomeness. You and your sisters seem so creative & tasteful & have a lot of varied interests & are skilled at lots of different things. So pretty much the opposite of my household. That sounds cruel on my family, but I think we are quite dull. That's not necessarily a bad thing :)

I'm sorry Sunday has been so very stressful. I was hoping you were having a quiet, relaxing day. I take it your dad's not very religious :) I suppose it's useful to have someone practical in the house though. My mum's the practical one in our household. Action Woman! :) I shudder to think where we'd be without her. Often drives me crazy though. And my dad's a total procrastinator which makes me just as mad :) So my dad makes me mad by not doing things, and mum makes me mad by doing too much. It's a nice balance we have :) And my brother can stay in his room and totally ignore the outside world, something which I find impossible to do. Envy! :)

I saw that picture of Bendyball Cumberquat as Spike too. I'm pretty sure it was on your Pinterest page. Every cool thing I see is on one of your pages :) But I think you're right in saying he's a little too British. Just because the show has the word Cowboy in the title, I automatically think of Spike as an American, even though he's a bounty hunter & the show is Japanese. Mind fuck :) I thought the picture was awesome though. He certainly looked the part.

You have so many shows you have to buy :) How big is your Amazon wish list now? I'll buy Cowboy Bebop for both of us & then we can imagine a future where I live close enough for you to borrow it, or come over and watch it in a warm bubble. You're not getting to wear the t-shirt though. No way! Okay, maybe for a little while :) Just out of interest, do your sisters have as many books & dvds as you? If someone buys a dvd that you all want, do you just buy the one copy, or do you like having your own copy? I'm a very curious person :)

I really hope you have a good night, Lilly. Maybe bond over a film with your sisters? :) Arguments happen. At the end of the day, they're still your best friends :)

Ps. I bet it is so 'fucking cute' when you get mad :)

Pps. Death. I'm talking about Discworld :) Also, I did almost write Maggot instead of Magrat by accident :)

G'night Lilliputty

Monday will be better. It has to be.

Thanks for the hell mythology (Spot!) & some utter filth. Of course I followed the link :)

"Brother from another mother!" - you operate outside the laws of cool, which makes you cooler :)

Ps. My Sunday was very uneventful. I wish you could have come over. I had pink iced doughnuts & watched Archer.

Louise Boyd said...

Pink doughnuts and Archer? You big old temptress. Hmm. Tempter? Wtf is the male equivalent of a temptress?

Did you know that Kelsey Grammar is not a very nice man? I've seen him interviewed. It's quite ugly to watch. A very vain and petulant man. He was awesome as Frasier though and Sideshow Bob of course.

"I sometimes wonder about your household. I kinda picture it like a treasure trove of awesomeness."

In some ways i guess it is. Our tastes are quite varied but we can be quite reluctant to engage with each other's passions unless we know we'll like them too. My sisters adore stand up. They can watch countless comedians and never tire, whereas i'm not all that fond of it. Sure, if it's on i'll happily watch Tim Minchin sing his way into my heart but it's not something i'll voluntary do. Likewise they aren't interested in the fantasy shows i fall head over heels for. They would never watch Supernatural. They won't even buy it for me for my birthday as they feel it would sully their bank history! Fiends.
We do come together more often than i'm suggesting here. We love lots of the same music and films and books and so on. My sister's the one who introduced me to Archer and won me round to Happy Endings - still not quite sure how that happened.
In turn i got them hooked on Community.
So it all works out. Most of the time.
Do you engage in any of that with your brother? You must enjoy anime together?

I'll tell you a secret. Yesterday i was so mad at everybody that i 'hate bought' the second season of The Vampire Diaries and the Series 1&2 box set of Teen Wolf. I should not have done that!
And stop giving the screen that disparaging look. I know what i bought is lame and i don't care! Fantasy crap for the win!
I think i probably should have chosen Hannibal over Teen Wolf though. That's just televisual sense but apparently when i'm angry i don't want good television. Hm.

"Just out of interest, do your sisters have as many books & dvds as you? If someone buys a dvd that you all want, do you just buy the one copy, or do you like having your own copy?"

This varies. I think i have way more dvds and music than my sisters but on the book front we're all about level and if we all want to same dvd etc. one person buys it and we borrow from each other. If someone wants their own copy then that's fine. We'll all need to refurbish our collections when we're no longer living together. I'm sure we'd still steal from each other but the chances of getting the stuff back without ransacking each other's houses is slim to none!

Right. I haven't asked how you are. I suck. How's your day been, Fungus? Fought some crime? Battled the undead? Tell me tell me.

Ps. Read 'Mort' next. It's not specifically based on Death but he features heavily. I loved it so you probably should too :) Then read The Hogfather if you're still in the mood for Death and his faithful companion, Binky :)

Dex said...

I do envy your relationship with your sisters, even though they won't buy you Supernatural :) You should have told me. I could have bought it for your birthday.

I get on quite well with my brother so long as we hardly spend any time in the same room :) We just have way too many differences. Well, we're kind of the same, but in a very different way, if that makes any sense :) For example, we both love anime. Except I hate the anime he watches, and he can't stand the kind I watch. Bizarre :) You could probably count on one hand the things we bond over: Red Dwarf, Tim Burton's Batman films, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Transformers, Tom & Jerry. No music or books whatsoever.

Secret - I was way too embarrassed to tell you this at the time, but my brother bought me a Sonic cartoon boxset for my birthday. So I won't be giving the screen a disparaging look at your purchases :) Anyway, as you might expect, I haven't seen either of those series.

Very personal question this, so please don't feel like you have to answer, but how would you feel about your sisters living somewhere else? I can't stand the idea of my brother moving out. It's very selfish of me, I know. I mean, I'd love to live on my own & wouldn't think twice about abandoning him, selfish fellow that I am :) It's just that I like to know that he's right next door to my bedroom if I need him :)

Hah, sorry to go on :) I had another uneventful day. I wish I had an exciting life and stories to tell. I didn't even leave the house except to pick mum up from work. I've got a job interview on Wednesday morning (human resources at the local council) and I'm determined to be prepared. My last couple of interview have been unmitigated, stuttering, garbled disasters.

Dex said...

Sorry Maggot. It's my turn to completely forget to ask how you are? Is your belly feeling a bit better?

I like the cat & watermelon video & I'm quite comfortable saying so :) Did your cats enjoy watermelon as much as you?

Thanks for the Discworld recommendation. Of course I'll love it if you do :) My uncle had a dog called Binky. Just saying :)

I do always imagine you and your sisters being interested in a ton of different things. I mean, liking a lot of the same things as well, but having a lot of different tastes. What's something that you are all really into?

Is 'hate bought' when you buy something to make yourself feel better when you're in a bad mood? Or is it when you buy something the person who made you in a bad mood hates? :)

What is the male equivalent of temptress?! It practically broke google when I typed it in :) You could make a new word. I'd try, but it wouldn't sound right.

Thanks for the music, you wizard :) I really do hope Stars & Letters decide to issue some cds or vinyls of Black City Lights. And I love when you write about music.

Also, is that Bryan Cranston reading that majestic poem?

Oh well, I'm off to fight some crime and battle hordes of vampires. Who am I kidding? I'm off to eat something sweet and watch something ridiculous :)

Have a lovely night, Lilliputty.

Ps. Yeah, KG doesn't even sound like Frasier in real life.

Pps. I think Cheryl may be my favourite Archer character :)

Dex said...

G'night my sleep crime fighting partner, The Fanged Lilliputian. Except tonight we shall dream of pudding & cats, because we don't actually fight much crime :)

Can we add The Last Bookstore & The Studio Ghibli Museum to our list?

Ps. I'd watch 'Fantasy crap' with you. Well, try to :)

Louise Boyd said...

Hell yeah we can add TLB and TSG to the adventure list! I just want to run around the Ghibli museum and pretend to be Catbus. Unacceptable for a 26 year old?

"...how would you feel about your sisters living somewhere else?"

Hmm. I think i'd miss them at first but i wouldn't mind and i'd get to visit their flats/houses and eat all their food. Sounds good to me. The only thing i can't imagine is me moving out. I just can't see it. I know it'll happen but i've never lived anywhere but here, with my family, driving each other mad. Being on my own and being solely responsible for myself seems near impossible. I can't even keep a cactus alive, how would i survive out there?!
That isn't normal for a 26 year old. Blargh.

My sisters and i all share a deep love for things like Black Books, The Mighty Boosh, Firefly, Community and so on. It's mostly tv. Our tastes in books and music are more diverse. They hardly borrow books from me, the bastards. I have awesome taste!
I do think i write about music like a pretentious twat though. I try not to but it's hard not to fall into clichés when waxing lyrical about something that means a lot to you. Especially when you're not a writer but a lowly simpleton that tries their best. It's a hard life being so mediocre :)

Right! I'm off to watch some baking goodness and then god knows what. Probably some rubbish on Film4.

Ps. Good luck for the job interview! People who don't hire you are stupid and i send each and every one of them grumpy vibes. Yessum.

Pps. Cheryl is a twisted bizzum and i adore her. Especially when she's being a real freak.

Ppps. It gets even more obscene in series 2 :)

Dex said...

You'll be glad to know that a cactus is not a necessity for living alone :)

I can picture you on your own. You'd live in a house more magical than a Studio Ghibli film because you made it so. And you'd have rooms lined wall-to-wall with books & dvds & cds & vinlys. And your boyfriend will be this amazing wizard who just turns up with presents & cake, prepares your favourite foodstuffs & cleans the house, before fucking off home again. And cats of course :)

I've often considered an idea for a cartoon about a talking vagina called 'The Pretentious Twat'. Thoughts. It's probably been done. This is what I think about when I can't sleep :) That and the future. Always the future.

Lowly simpleton! Wtf! Yeah, a lowly simpleton who's brain almost tears itself in two over a theological debate at 5am in the morning while I'm dreaming of singing vaginas (yes, they sing too. Fuck off, it's my dream). You're a ridiculously complex creature, Lilly dearest.

I l-o-v-e this music video! Not the song on its own so much, but together...yes. Just yes. You're going to accuse me of liking it because it features a group of attractive women in swimming costumes, but that's not the reason :) I don't even find them that attractive. Well, the girl at 0:20 maybe, as in very :) And they all look so, so cool. But honestly, I just think it's so well synched, like when they climb the diving board. Perfect :) Also, there's something about grotty swimming pools that I find irresistable :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhHzY_Au-9c

Enjoy baking with Mel & Sue. What were they making this week? And you have to tell me what you end up watching afterwards, okay? :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilliputty. You're never too old to want pretend to be Catbus :)

When you write about music or books or anything that stirs something inside you, I think what I love the most is that you seem so honest, if that makes sense. Like anyone reading it could immediately tell that these things mean something to you and that they make up such a large part of what is essentially 'you'. That's why I like calling you a wizard. You unlock the magic of books & music & so many other things :)

There, that's nice & unclear :)

I hope the warring factions of your brain finds something to agree upon tonight. I know you won't, but you can still always bother me with a text at 5am if you want to :)

Louise Boyd said...

The girl at 0:20 actually looks a bit like Emily Perkins.
You and your cute brunettes. And you say you don't have a type. Pssht.

"I've often considered an idea for a cartoon about a talking vagina called 'The Pretentious Twat'. Thoughts. It's probably been done. This is what I think about when I can't sleep :)"

Wtf? That's hilarious. I'd watch that show. Well, as long as it was the same kind of humour as Bob's Burgers. Otherwise i think it could just be a little grotesque, y'know?
I would offer to draw it for you but i think i spent enough time drawing vaginas in life drawing classes. You're on your own with this one!
Reminds me of this film called 'Teeth' that i always wanted to see. Pretty grimy subject but it sounded pretty awesome.

"I can picture you on your own. You'd live in a house more magical than a Studio Ghibli film because you made it so. And you'd have rooms lined wall-to-wall with books & dvds & cds & vinyls. And your boyfriend will be this amazing wizard who just turns up with presents & cake, prepares your favourite foodstuffs & cleans the house, before fucking off home again. And cats of course :)"

You just described my dream life. How did you do that?!

What've you been up to today buddy? Was today interview day?
I've mostly just been cold today. Nothing very productive but that happens when you're still in bed at 2:30pm and it takes you a monstrous amount of time to get ready! Hrumph.

Teen Wolf arrived today :) I'm such a sad bastard. But right after i've finished Community, it's going straight on. Two seasons of supernatural rubbishness. Bliss.

Ps. Watch a film called Deep End. It's got a pretty grotty swimming pool and it's a damn fine coming of age film. And it's British! We're good at films and stuff. For sure.

Pps. Thank you for what you said about my writing. It meant a lot to me. I've never thought about it that way before and it's made me slightly less self-conscious about my random outbursts of emotion on ye old bloggywog - i actually refer to it as 'bloggywog' in real life :)

Vagina, teeth…I can see where this is going. Good lordy, in the synopsis on wikipedia, the phrase ‘bites off his penis’ appears 3 times. 3 times! Definitely a must watch :)

Okay, so that’s Deep End added to my Amazon wish list. It’s a blu-ray too! Thanks Lilliputty. I totally do everything you tell me to :) Cabin in the Woods came the other day. I’m saving it for the weekend.

I realised something kinda cool the other day when I was trying to think of songs I’d choose if I ever made a mixed cd for someone. It may not seem like it, but my taste in music has slowly evolved since we became friends. So much of my favourite music I’ve found because of you. You may not realise it, but you’re the one who’s encouraged me to explore different kinds of music. I don’t think there was a single song on my imaginary playlist that wasn’t due to your influence in some way. I’m still nowhere near as varied in my tastes or as open to music as you are, but I’m happy because I keep finding new music that I like.

All I can say is thank you, you awesome girl.

Yay, autumn's here. Summer officially ended in Shetland last week when I twatted a rogue wasp in the sun lounge with a copy of Good Housekeeping.

You seem to really love autumn, Lilliputty. Is it really the knitwear & hot drinks? You have to tell me the secret of how you make a chai latte. I want one. It looks so frothy :)

I didn't tell you about my day. I guess I just didn't want to tell you that I didn't get the job. For some reason, I feel like I've let you down too. The interview went okay, but I always feel there are just so many people out there who are better qualified and more experienced and...well, just better at interviews. Still, I'm happy it's over. And I've still got a job for the next couple of months. And some money saved up. So, it could be a lot worse :)

Hah, you always say you do nothing, and then I read your blog and it becomes painfully apparent that you do way more in a day than I could ever dream of doing. And I get up at 7.30am. Fucking hell. Something's not right here. Time thief! And it comes as no surprise to me that you refer to it as your 'bloggywog' in real life :)

Did you ever make magic potions when you were small? I did. All the time. With just about anything. It was a super fun thing to do :)

I'm sure I've missed out some of the most important details of your dream life, but I think I know you a litte bit by now to realise that you like cats & presents & cake :)

Hmm, afraid to say that it wasn't a musical triumph this time around. Style over substance.
It may just be that it's too happy for my musical tastes today. I have been mostly listening to Chelsea Wolfe and she's the queen of drone.

My mum just informed me that The Dark Crystal is available on Blu-ray.
...
I'm going to go broke.

Fuck. Really? That's so sweet. I don't know if i've ever done that for anyone before. I know that i've introduced people to music before but i'm not sure i've influenced their musical behaviour! So cool.
You're like the monster to my Frankenstein :)

Ugh, my eyes are itchy. I think there's still some pollen floating about in these here parts.

Hi Lilly

I just thought I'd link you to this song. I don't know if you'll like it, but it features Chelsea Wolfe & I know you've been listening to her a lot these last couple of days.

Russian Circles - Memorial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF75kI1iiEw

Louise Boyd said...

Thanks budddddy. Love 'Memorial' and the fact that Miss Wolfe features is a definite bonus. Discovered her last year and fell in love instantly. One of my favourite happenings. Along with BCL if course :)

There is a stew and dumplings in my belly and they're not being very friendly.
...
Might puke.
Why does food hate me?

How's your day gone, Monsterfriend?

What's on my radar? I'm kind of after Gregg Araki's Apocalypse trilogy (he's the director responsible for Mysterious Skin which is probably one of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's finest hours) and a movie called Simon Killer that's meant to be pretty great.
Oh, and Byzantium! Cause, y'know, vampires...
It's ridiculous but i actually feel a bit overwhelmed by the number of things i want to see/hear/read. There's so many and i don't have the money for it all or the time. What if i miss out on something that'll be life changing?
Frustrates me.
I do sleep until 3:30pm some days so i've only got myself to blame for the time constraints!
Really must work on that.
I bet you were up at some disgustingly reasonable hour today. Git :)

Ps. I do indeed feel like a girl who isn't crushable from afar. I am not a head turner. Zooey Deschanel i am not.
The only people who've 'crushed' on me have been people who've gotten to know me and seeing as i don't really do that anymore! i'm probably gonna need some cats so i can start my spinsterhood. Depressing.
Cats though!

Monsterfriend :)

I woke up around midday which is pretty late for me, indulged in an hour or so of fervent activity, then drifted through the late afternoon & evening, occasionally pausing to make cups of tea & do the washing up. Today was a good day. Relatively speaking :)

Fervent activity = frenzied cleansing of myself & my sleeping quarters in preparation for a day of nothingness :)

Poor Lilly. Sore belly again :( Did you have an okay kind of day though?

Do you keep some sort of food diary so you know what makes your belly sore?

'It's ridiculous but i actually feel a bit overwhelmed by the number of things i want to see/hear/read. There's so many and i don't have the money for it all or the time. What if i miss out on something that'll be life changing?'

Lilly dearest, I feel exactly the same way, like there's so much I'm missing out on.

Some pretty interesting cast names in Mr Araki's trilogy. It's kinda fun watching actors in films before they became very famous. I always imagine that they're trying so hard. I really hope we get to watch movies together some day.

I have a crush on you. I had a crush on you even before I got to know you, and I still do. Oh ffs, take that look off your face, Lilliputty :) Also, the fact that people have crushed on you after getting to know you says something. 'The funny thing about introverts...' :) And the thing is you often don't know if people are crushing on you from afar.

Ps. I'll never be able to thank you enough for Black City Lights :)

Pps. I knew you'd want to watch Byzantium :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilly

Dex said...

I up already. On a Sunday. And I just had to tell you. Because I'm a git :)

Ps. You're not going to end up a spinster. You'll find someone. Still, get some cats anyway :)

Louise Boyd said...

I think some of your fervent activity has started to rub off on me.
I keep finding myself feeling really tense and uncomfortable when the house is untidy...so i clean all the things!
What have you done to me you sorcerer?!

I've got a sore belly again.
It's those damn dumplings!
I somehow managed to have them tonight as well and they're just as unhappy with me today!
Why must they taste so good?
Why? :(
I bet you never get a sore belly from foodstuffs. You've got teeth in your stomach, don't you?!
I'll say it again...Sorcerer!

It was super sunny and warm here today. Did Lerwick catch any of the good weather?
I always feel bad for you up there. Sounds like you don't get very good weather at all. Tell me i'm wrong and you get wonderful weather.

I feel you haven't told me about cake recently. Is it the Pixie Sticks? Have i left no room in your diet for sickly baked goods?
Or have you finished them all and turned into an actual rainbow?
That'd be kinda cool.
Ron Burgundy could slide down you when he's having intercourse :)

Ps. Don't have a crush on me you fool! I'm the creaturefeature that lives under beds and whispers creepy things to people while they sleep!
No no. You can't crush on that. I demand you find a girl in your town and develop a crush. DEMAND it! Cause i'm the boss and you can't argue me the boss :)

Louise Boyd said...

Ps. I really think i might barf...

Dex said...

I guess you don't want me crushing on you. Okay bossgirl :)

Still friends, right?

Haven't I told you about sweet things for a while? Ugh, I suck. Well, my mum is trying to kill me with pink doughnuts. And there's apple pie in the fridge. Nom nom :) What about you, girlface? What's your baker sister been up to? I hope your dumpling belly doesn't mean you can't have dessert. That would be terrible!

Pixie Sticks = 19 :)

Dex said...

"Look! The most glorious rainbow ever!"
"Do me on it!"

Hehe. I love your film referencing :) But my rainbow will be used for Mario Kart racing only :)

I wish I could tell you it was super sunny and warm up here today. Low cloud & rain. Hurumph. But I hope you had a nice day, Lilliputty. Did you go outside?

You're the sorcerer, stealing all my sun and warmth. Either that or your Storm. How awesome would it be to be Storm? :)

I went to the museum today. They have dinosaurs. Well, a few fossils & a life size model of a triceratop's skull :)

"I keep finding myself feeling really tense and uncomfortable when the house is untidy...so i clean all the things!
What have you done to me you sorcerer?!"

I don't know. I'd undo it immediately if I did :(

Did you ever watch The Wishing Stairs? Do you have the entire Whispering Corridors series? I've been looking up Korean horror films this afternoon. There's one called Cinderella that I really want to see. Another film season for our cinema :)

Ps. I thought you meant you might barf because I had a crush on you :) Do I really have to stop crushing on you? You're not really an under-the-bed dwelling Willem Defoe type creature, y'know. I like your creaturefeatures :)

Pps. I don't really get a sore belly from food. You hate me, don't you? I must have been impregnated by a face hugger and there's an alien living in my belly that's gonna burst through my chest one of these days. So, a perfectly rational explanation. Not sorcery at all :)

Dex said...

G'night lovely Lilly, you spectacles whore :)

I just wanted to check you were okay. It's always on my mind & I always forget to ask. I do still worry about you.

Ooh, and thanks for all the trailers. You're so awesome at finding things.

Night again. Day off tomorrow :)

Ps. I really hope you don't mind but I left a message on you sister's blog. I just wanted to ask if she was doing another '12 Days' this Christmas. She wrote me a very thoughtful reply which was super nice of her.

Dex said...

Hi Lilly

More music! Just for when you have the time. Why can't there be more in time in the day, Lilly? Why?!

Wasted Nights - Daze
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOVqhLVRR4U

Dear Euphoria - Coming Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CyNPwdtvTg

Xylos - Summerlong
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeHtfzijw0M

And if you're interested, the film used in the Daze video is Skateland. It looks kinda cheesy. You'll probably love it :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtfbls6D_tA

Louise Boyd said...

Nice tuneage Dexterous dear. Not really feeling Xylos but the other two are sitting quite nicely. And yes, i will totally love Skateland :) Git.

Of course i don't mind you asking me sister questions. It actually spurred her into posting something on her blog again, which i wish she would do more often. She overthinks the whole process. It's a shame cause she always finds cool stuff.

How'd you spend your day off? Tell me it was full of tv?

Dex said...

Chvrches :)

'The Mother We Share' is still one of my favourite songs ever. I was worried it wouldn't be on the album. But it is. Yay :)

Do you have a favourite song(s) on the album?

I'm so glad your sister is planning on doing another '12 Days' this Christmas. I was afraid she might have given up because her blog had gone very quiet. But she hasn't :) I hope she finds a bit more confidence to post some other new stuff in the future because she's so good at it. Ugh, you're such a talented family! It's disgusting really :)

I didn't watch any tv today! Maybe have a look just after I've finished writing this. This is very embarrassing, but I spent a good portion of the day watching Red Star Belgrade vs Bayern Munich from the 1991 European Cup on Youtube. Retro football. Yes, I know :( They all have such cool names though: Dejan Savicevic, Darko Pancev, Miodrag Belodedici etc. You watch fantasy crap, I watch this :)

Did you have a good day, Lilliputty? Have you started watching Teen Wolf?

Dex said...

G'night my lovely Maggot :)

I bet you're still dancing away like Elmo :)

"My mum just informed me that The Dark Crystal is available on Blu-ray." - Your mum sounds awesome :)

I wanted to squish you after reading the '10 signs your cat actually loves you' pin.

Squish!

Ps. I had steak & apple pie tonight. I'll say it for you. Git :) It was warm apple pie though. Cold apple pie will be tomorrow :)

Dex said...

Pps. You've very welcome for every poppy song & cheesy film I share with you. There's no one I would rather share these things with :)

Louise Boyd said...

'Allo 'allo 'allo.

How are you this fine Autumnal day?
I had the house completely to myself today.
I didn't know what to do with myself.
I actually just stood at one point in the middle of the kitchen trying to think of chores i could do.
Wtf is wrong with me?

"Ugh, you're such a talented family! It's disgusting really :) "

Hah! We are. Ftw. It's actually kind of annoying sometimes. I just want someone to be bad at something with me! I'm the worst at just about everything. Uni. Cooking. Driving. Social skills. Waking up! T'isn't good. I just want someone to suck at something more than me for once dammit!

Retro football? Wtf? I thought you didn't even like football?
What a conundrum you are.
You may keep your football though, m'dear and i shall keep my fantasy crap. And then we shall never argue! Unless there is only one tv and a war over the prized status of Couch Commando is on the line. Then you're going down. Sorry.
So not sorry.

I want apple pie. You bastard.

Dex said...

I was working today. Psych is moving to a new building soon, so it's all very hectic. Me no like.

Home alone, huh? I bet you were prancing around to music :) So, what did you end up doing all day, except spoiling me with all your blog posts? :)

I always find the days getting away from me when I'm at home by myself. Weeks sometimes, when my family is away. This summer, 4 weeks, and I have no idea what I did with them! You probably ended up being ridiculously productive today, damn you :)

"I'm the worst at just about everything." Shut your gaping face orifice. Have you had a look at your blog recently? You have incredible taste in everything. Everything! You find so much amazing stuff that most people have never heard of. I love the way you write about things. You're hilarious. You're interesting. You are cool! Anyone who comes across your blog should count themselves very lucky indeed.

I don't think I like football in the way other people like it :) In fact, I hate almost everything about it, especially the modern day game. I just find some old matches & players aesthetically pleasing to watch. Hah, that makes me sound so pretentious :)

And I never watch football on tv! I'd still take you on though & attempt to typewriter through your female padding :)

Just out of interest, what actually counts as 'fantasy crap'?

Mmm, cold apple pie. Ugh, go on, tell me what your baker sister has made for you.

Ps. What are you thinking about this new film 'Rush'?

Dex said...

G'night Couch Commando :)

I'm always excited for you when you finish a book & get to start a new one.

Have a lovely night, Lilliputty. You're my favourite person & don't you forget it.

Nudge

Ps. Hmm, it's just occured to me that I haven't made pancakes in ages. Random :)

Louise Boyd said...

"I'd still take you on though & attempt to typewriter through your female padding :)"

What in the what what? I don't know what that means but it sounds like something i won't recover from! Donnnnnn't!

"Shut your gaping face orifice. Have you had a look at your blog recently? You have incredible taste in everything. Everything! You find so much amazing stuff that most people have never heard of. I love the way you write about things. You're hilarious. You're interesting. You are cool! Anyone who comes across your blog should count themselves very lucky indeed."

:) You shut up :)

'Fantasy crap' is stuff like The Vampire Diaries, Ladyhawke, Hex (tv series) and so on.
Stuff that isn't very good but is super enjoyable to watch. My drug of choice.

Do you watch Dexter? I've just been informed that the last episode ever ever was appallingly bad. This saddens me. I've grown so fond of Michael C. Hall as a charming mass murderer. Oh well, i'll just have to cheer myself up with another psycho series, Hannibal! Can't buy it this month though. I've been very bad this month. I may have a slight shopping problem and nowhere enough of the funds to support it...crapsticks.

How's the office? Is it still hectic? Are you being harassed into corners while people move things? I hope you get some respite during your breaks?
Had any decent sugar lately? Still got pie? I still hate you. But not really.
My sister hasn't baked anything lately! Which is good because my willpower is pitiful. Damn her and her crazy good baking skills. She's a little tied up at the moment however, what with having gone back to uni to get a Masters in Publishing. She's so fucking clever, i just wanna throw things at her.

Okay, time for a big question...have you watched The Cabin in the Woods yet?!

There are Terry's Chocolate Orange segments, Cadbury's Chocolate Pebbles and miniature Dime Bars somewhere in my kitchen.
I need to go to there.

Dex said...

"Do you watch Dexter?" This is me you're talking to :) Do you think I'd like it?

Are you watching any tv series with your family at the moment?

I think it's nice that you buy things you want. I never know what to do with money. I wish you'd let me buy things for you, but I totally understand why you don't. I did order some cds the other day. The new Chvrches album & Memoryhouse.

Would it piss you off to know that I'm eating apple pie in between sentences? :)

Hmm, decent sugar. Well, yesterday at work, I got told off for eating Sour Skittles & M&Ms for my lunch. I'm 27 years old!

Ugh, I said I'd watch The Cabin in the Woods at the weekend & I didn't. I suck :( I promise that I'll watch it tonight. Not that I'm scared of what you'll do to me if I don't :)

That's so exciting about your sister. I hope she enjoys it. She's the one with the Masters in Literature, right?

I've signed up for this weekend class at the college, 'drawing with mixed media'. I won't be any good at it, but someone at work thought it would be good for me. It's only 6 sessions (12-3 on alternate Saturdays starting 5th October). And you never know, I might enjoy it :)

It wasn't too hectic at work today. I don't like it. Feels like the calm before the storm :)

And I won't shut up. Not about how much I love you & your blog. Awesome girl :)

Ps. I couldn't help noticing there was a song called Dex on your blog :)

Pps. I hope you found the chocolate. I've never had Cadbury's Chocolate Pebbles. My life suddenly seems very empty :)

Dex said...

G'night lovely Lilly

The Cabin in the Woods!

Where are you? I wish to squish you. And talk like an excitable child who's just been on a helicopter ride :)

You're my go-to-girl.

Ps. Typewriter (Urban Dictionary) - 'The act of pinning someone down, and using the tips of your fingers to type on their upper chest, tickling them tremendously.' I promise I won't. You're very ticklish, aren't you?

Louise Boyd said...

I am at this very moment watching a tv show called 'The Wonder of Dogs'
...
I'm dying.
Near the start, newborn black spaniels were shown. And i'm talking brand new. Just out the womb. Still slimy. So fucking cute.
Ahhh! They just showed them a few weeks later and they're like little black, lump potatoes!
This show is gonna finish me off. There will just be a Lilly-shaped mark where my body used to be before i dissolved from all the cute.
I'm not even kidding.
I want a puppy to play with dammit!

Okay, i'm finished.
For now.

So you enjoyed TCITW then? S'cause you have a brain and aren't an ignoramus.
Did you notice the bit with the unicorn? How cool. Only Joss would think to do that. Only him. And that is why i love him.
He even knew Hemsworth would be a star before Thor happened!
The best. Just the total complete utter best.
I cannot wait for S.H.I.E.L.D tomorrow. It's been so long since a Joss series. The last was Dollhouse and it was awesome but not on a par with Buffy or Firefly.
You gonna watch it?
Have you even seen the Avengers movie?!
Or Thor? Captain America? Iron Man?!
I saw the new trailer for Thor 2 on tv a couple of nights ago and just about exploded. I'd seen it before but not on the tv. That means it's out at the cinema soon!
I'm having a bit of a fangirl moment. Apologies.

My sister brought me S'mores Pop Tarts! And a Malteser Reindeer. AND! more Terry's Chocolate Orange segments.
In your face apple boy :)
She's making apple crumble as well right this second. I think she's trying to fatten us up like Hansel and Gretel.

A drawing class you say? That's pretty neat. What will you be drawing? Naked people? Or fruit?
I always preferred the naked people. Take from that what you will :)

Alright, i'm off the finish fawning over puppies and then fawn over Cillian Murphy. So damn pretty.

Dex said...

Aw Lilly, you really should have a puppy or a kitten to look after. Have you seen the neighbourhood pugs recently?

I like your fangirl moments :)

I want to watch S.H.I.E.L.D. tomorrow. I really do. It's just that I don't have a tv in my room & I don't want to watch it with the rentals. They wouldn't like it. But I really want to know what you make of it. Obviously you're gonna love it because it's Joss Whedon.

I loved TCITW. Do you mean the bit with the unicorn stabbing a guy? :) That was awesome. And I just knew that it was Merman approaching through the smoke to kill Bradley Whitford near the end. So happy for him :) About the one thing I guessed right! Is Mr. Whedon always that original? And I definitely wasn't expecting Sigourney Weaver! :)

I haven't seen any of those films you mentioned. I'm hardly worth talking to :( I used to be so lacking in enthusiasm for anything new. It was sad. I'm starting to catch up a little bit now. Hehe, you're like my cultural guide. I totally look up to you. And I like when you order me to buy things :)

I did see Iron Man 3 in the cinema :) Does that count?

"My sister brought me S'mores Pop Tarts! And a Malteser Reindeer. AND! more Terry's Chocolate Orange segments."

"She's making apple crumble as well right this second."

What the fuck did you do to deserve all these things?! :)

Well, the course description didn't say anything about drawing naked people :)

'Investigation into drawing styles e.g.still life, reduction, visualisation and methods and experiments with mixed media eg. Collage and prints' - How the hell are they gonna cover all that in 6 sessions?! :)

"What will you be drawing? Naked people? Or fruit?
I always preferred the naked people. Take from that what you will :)"

Hmm, that you prefer eating fruit & drawing vaginas than drawing fruit and eating...oh, never mind :)

What Cillian Murphy film are you gonna watch? Even I think he's pretty :) I saw him in Broken not that long ago. Another of your film recommendations :) I loved it. Have you seen it yet?

Have you had a good day, Lilliputty?

Dex said...

G'night pop tart girl :)

I had to take a hit of pixie dust after reading what your sister brought you :)

I'm jealous, but I still hope you dream of pudding :)

Ps. You sound so excited when you talk about puppies. It's adorable :)

Dex said...

Pps. "There may be some dancing in my seat also..."

The image of you this conjours in my imagination makes me so, so happy :)

Hi Lilly

I'm such a technological numpty that I only just discoved now that I can watch Channel 4 live online. I will now definitely be watching S.H.I.E.L.D tonight :)

Hope you're having a swell day. I'm at work. Only 1/2 an hour 'til the weekend though. Yay!

Louise Boyd said...

Are you watching? Are you are you?
I'm in love with Fitz and Simmons already.
Already had love for Fitz because of The Fades but it's nice to hear him with his rightful scottishness.

I have Pop Tarts and youuu don't! Buaha. She even brought home some more stuff today, which included Milky Way Magic Stars. On nom nom :)

Of course watched it :)

Damn you, pop tart girl!

G'night Lilliputty, you omnomnomnivore :)

And thanks so much for the music. Best Coast & MIA/Lorde. You're the best :)

I had a chilled Kit Kat. Buahah...oh wait, you had Pop Tarts & Milky Way Magic Stars. Fuck you! :)

If your sister is not baking, she's bringing you sweets! Does she need to appease you with sugary offerings every day? Y'know, to stop you from destroying the world or something like that :)

I hope you have a lovely night followed by a lovely day, Lilliputty.

You're my Maggot. Nudge.

Ps. Can you imagine us as Hansel & Gretel? I totally can :)

Dex said...

And just after posting that message, I see a whole bunch of new songs posted on your blog. You're ridiculously good at finding music.

Oh well, I may have to stay awake a bit longer :)

G'night again, girlface.

Dex said...

"But now i'm super-slapyouinthefaceandrunawaysinginghihoit'sofftoworkwego-psyched!"

I laughed so much when I read this. Only you :)

Louise Boyd said...

Are chilled Kit Kats really that good? I really must try but i'm so forgetful about doing such things. Would it go well with a cup of tea? Or would it better with an iced coffee? Do you use it like a straw drink your tea through it? Or do you dunk?
So many questions?!

After saying all that, i can imagine us as Hansel & Gretel. But i don't think we'd be stupid enough to go inside the witch's house. We'd just eat from the outside in! That poor witch, we'll leave her homeless. Oh well, that's only fair when eating children is your favourite pastime!
I've still got to see the Jeremy Renner version of H&G. I've heard it's mind-blowingly awful but it's got witches and Jeremy Renner and violence. What more could i possibly ask for?

Would we kill witches? Or just eat? That's a stupid question, isn't it?

I just had yorkshire pudding for my tea! I feel sick but in a satisfied way :)
What's in your belly, dearest Dex?

Dex said...

I like answering your questions :)

"Are chilled Kit Kats really that good?"

Well, I like 'em. But I like cold chocolate. And chilled Kit Kats do make a very satisfying 'snap' when broken :)

Can you really drink tea through a Kit Kat? I've never done that.

I like my chocolate with milk. But I don't dunk. I only do that with Rich Tea biscuits & a cup of tea. Are you a dunker? :)

What sweet things have you had tonight, Lilliputty?

Hmm, maybe chilled Kit Kats would go even better with an iced coffee. I've never tried. It's been so long since I've had an iced coffee. Sadness.

What about you? Are you gonna make me jealous & tell me you got a Frappuccino from Starbucks recently? I hope so :) And that you've been to Waterstones too. You deserve nice things like that. Books from Waterstones & Frappuccinos from Starbucks :)

Would we kill witches? Evil witches, for sure. Like the Grand High Witch. For one thing, we'd need the exercise :)

I very much like your version of the fairy tale. You & I terrorising poor witches & eating their houses. That would make a good story :)

Did you read Roald Dahl books when you were littie? Did you have a favourite?

What's in my belly? Pepperoni Pizza :) Also, my mum bought more doughnuts! It's getting ridiculous. She's definitely trying to kill me. She even asked the baker at the supermarket if they had any that were just made. And they did. She bought 2 boxes! It's like biting into a candy cloud. I'm a goner :(

I love yorkshire pudding! Were you having a roast?

"I feel sick but in a satisfied way :)" - Is that possible? :)

"I've heard it's mind-blowingly awful but it's got witches and Jeremy Renner and violence. What more could i possibly ask for?"

Gotta make room for that in your viewing schedule :) What's on your agenda tonight? Whatever is on, I hope you're enjoying it :)

Ps. I'm sorry that I haven't told you about any new anime for so long. This one is supposed to be very good, I've heard.

"Whilst looking for an image, i came across a tumblr called 'Fuck yes, Robert Downey Jr's tummy!'...Oh, internet."

Which you ignored because such things are beneath you...Oh, Lilly :)

I love Asleep by Makthaverskan. Ugh, you keep me up so late with fantastic tunes. And I absolutely love you for it :)

I'll have to choose another song for my no handed bike rider. Because we can't use the same song. That would be silly :)

Don't judge me for picking this. Okay, judge away :) But I love it.

Sea Oleena - Milk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSzwqb2-K1E

Louise Boyd said...

Pop?! You know nothing of the pop! I listen to *N Sync dammit!

As i said in my last post, i really do think i need to send you some more pixie sticks for Sea Oleena. Oh my goodness she's wonderful. Kind of reminds me of Gregory & the Hawk.
Thanks buuuuddy.

I cannot tell you i've had a Frappuccino recently. Neither have i been in Waterstone. I've actually not left the house for a few weeks now. It's pretty disturbing. I'm gonna get rickets. Now that the sun's going down earlier, i barely see any daylight! My poor body. I'm not kind to it. I mean, i don't fill it with alcohol or drugs or mass amounts of junk food but i don't exercise it and let it sleep way too long. Such a bad human! I need me some nanobots to sort me out. Press the reset button. Make like a baby but stay full sized...or just me sized. Tiny. Midget. Small fryyyy. I've not had any sugar yet today but i'm a bit hyper.
I've made this new rule that i'm not allowed anything sugary - excluding natural sugar - until after dinner. It's easier than i thought it would be but it doesn't account for the amount of nervous energy i have right now!
Obviously you could never abide by this rule, you sugary demon. It's sweet how your mum's trying to kill you with baked goods. Is it still the pink doughnuts? The Homer doughnuts?
I like my doughnuts sugared and filled with jam. Om nom nom.
There's apple pie in the house! My gran made it for us and she's the finest apple pie maker around. Complete truth, nothing but.
She also makes this thing called a Gateau Diane and it's just...wow. It's made up of hard meringue and chocolate ganache and it's to fucking die for!
My sisters have been trying to wrestle her recipe off her for years to no avail. Hrumph.

I think it's The Walking Dead finale tonight. So, that's my nighttime viewing sorted. What you gonna watch Dexterous Epistoleannnn?

Ps. Attack on Titan looks epic!

Dex said...

And thank you for Gregory & The Hawk. And for the tv trailers. Awesome girl :)

Your family has secret recipes? That's so cool!

Gateau Diane sounds magical. Something I'd kill for. Literally :)

Probably a totally unfair question this, because it seems like she makes so many awesome desserts, but what's your baker sister's speciality?

14 doughnuts, Lilly! That's how many my mum bought yesterday. 8 Homers & 5 sugared custards. And only mum & I like doughnuts. She had 3. You do the maths :)

I must be a sugary demon. Only evil can consume so much sugar & get away with it :)

So, you're getting homemade apple pie from the finest apple pier in the land. Wtf is going on with all these people baking for you. Why don't people bake for me? I'm far more deserving. I should be getting my just desserts. Haha. Ugh, no wonder I don't have a girlfriend :)

Aw Lilly, you'll get out of the house at some point. Book vampires need to visit Waterstones :) I'd hardly ever leave the house if it wasn't for work. Are you finding plenty of things to keep you busy at home?

And I bet you treat your body better than a lot of people. Like you said, you don't drink or smoke or do drugs. You get plenty of rest, you eat properly. Are you still managing to exercise a bit? I don't exercise at all, except for the walking to and from places. Has the weather been nice in Blair?

I'm sorry if this sounds very personal, but is your body treating you okay at the moment? Is that a weird thing to ask? :)

Hehe, you do come across a little bit hyper today. It's kinda cute :)

Ps. I don't think your sisters will ever let you send me pixie sticks again. They will want to keep it all for themselves :)

G'night Lilly Miles Maggot

You should be in charge of tv! :)

"Pop?! You know nothing of the pop! I listen to *N Sync dammit!"

It did not go unnoticed :) You are an eclectomaniac. Do you know how cool that is? It means I can share anything with you :)

8+5=13 not 14 doughnuts. I'm useless. You have no idea how much mistakes like this bother me. And it's only doughnuts!

Homer doughnuts :) This is probably what will happen to me when I go to hell.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=X3ZcZ2h4Ths#t=111

And I watched American Dad tonight. I'm sorry for being so set in my ways. I wish I was more like you. You're always looking forward to new shows or films or books or music. You're magic. I'm definitely the boring one :)

Still, Stan Smith is the best :) I hope you enjoyed The Walking Dead. I wonder how we'd fare in a zombie epidemic. We'd just hide inside & watch films, methinks. That sounds okay :)

Hi Lilly

I saw on Amazon today that Mamoru Hosoda’s (the guy who directed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time & Summer Wars) latest film, Wolf Children, is coming out on blu-ray in December. I just wanted to keep you up-to-date with what’s going on in anime world :)

I hope you’re having a good day & that your sister brings you home something sugared & jam-filled :)

Louise Boyd said...

You must be a demon. It's the only way to explain your capacity for sugar and not be the size of a houseboat.
Did you make a deal with the devil? Some Faustian sugary deal? If so...gimmegimmegimme!

Wolf Children? Oh, that's totally getting watched. Maybe not in Blu-ray though. So frigging expensive. I really need to start making some more money so can buy all the shit i want. And y'know, leave Blair at some point. That'd be nice too. Or even just to leave the effing house! I would so be trying to run if i wasn't such an agoraphobic weirdo. It's depressing seeing your fellow classmates getting on with their lives when i can't even step out my front door without having a panic attack. What makes me so different? I can't even imagine living anywhere but here. That's just wrong for someone my age, isn't it? At least you've made it out of your hometown for a while. You've had experience of being an 'outside person'. I've not left home once. I don't even like staying over at other people's places. Icks me out and i can't sleep and you know how much my sleep means to me!
I am just a complete nutter. I at least deserve some cats, don't i? Surely?
Oh well, at least you'll keep me company during the zombie apocalypse. Bring doughnuts and anime.

Dex said...

I didn't do very well as an 'outside person'. I shouldn't be left to my own devices.

I was given the chance though. I'm grateful for that. It's my fault I wasted it.

I'm sorry, Lilliputty. Finding it really difficult to write tonight :(

Dex said...

You amount to a lot, Lilliputty. You really do. I wish you could see yourself as I see you.

I'm really look up to you, the way you deal with your agoraphobia. You do so much with your days, & you're so cool & fun & interesting & know so much about awesome things.

Secret: My parents used to have to pick me up in the middle of the night from sleepovers when I was little. Spoilt brat :)

I sometimes see or hear about what my old classmates are up to. It does get me down sometimes, but I'm also happy for them too, even though we don't talk these days. A girl from my class in high school is now a teacher at the same school. How the fuck did that happen? :)

Ps. Yes, you do deserve cats. They'd be so lucky to have you looking after them :)

Dex said...

G'night Lilliputty, my zombie apocalypse buddy. Of course I'll bring doughnuts & anime. Sugared, jam filled doughnuts :)

I wish there was some way I could make things better for you. You must have so many things you want to do, but can't. It seems so unfair.

But you'll get there. I have a lot of faith in you :) I reckon you're a pretty strong person. I mean, you seem to have gone through so much. You know I'm always here if you wanna talk :)

Anyway, let's talk about cake! :) I had cake tonight. Parents brought it back from a party. Sponge & icing. That's all it was. I don't think I can describe it in any more detail :) Did you have cake? Or cold apple pie?

It was a nice day today. Clear blue skies. A bit windy. I walked to the college & back. That's quite far. Take my word for it :) Has the weather reverted back to autumnal in Blair?

Did you watch anything tonight? I'm watching Columbo. With sign language! Because I'm cool :)

And I thought you might like to check out this girl's music.

http://redalder.bandcamp.com/

Have a lovely sleep. You'd probably attack me if I tried to wake you :) Do you have vivid dreams? I remember you telling me you had nightmares. Is that still the same? Anyway, night again, Lilliputty.

Ps. Have you stopped drooling over Mr. Hiddlestone? :)

Dex said...

Oh, and I'll trade you my dark sugary secret for your baker sister. No? Okay, enjoy weight gain and painful dentistry. Buahahahahah :)

Louise Boyd said...

Hah! You son of a bitch :)
It'll catch up to you at some point! Just you wait and see. Then we'll see who's smug! You git.

Today i have literally spent the entire day tidying. I even cooked dinner, which i never do because i cannot cook most things. I'm quite sleepy now. Fizzy eyes and everything. Hopefully i can stay awake for tonight's Homeland episode. We're re-watching the first two series before the third starts on 4. Frigging love this show. I can ever get past Damien Lewis' weird accent. Especially when there's Claire Danes magnificent cry face to behold. Such an ugly crier.

What's been happening in Lerwick land? Got any festivals happening? When's it time to burn stuff again? You pyromaniacal islanders, you.
How did the film festival go?
Tell me stufffff!
Is your mum still trying to sugar kill you?

Red Alder. Oh my goodness. So fucking ethereal i could just float the fuck away. Fuck fuck fuck!
Clever little finder you.
Isn't Bandcamp just the balls? I love it. So many of my favourite things have been found through it and it's such a nice platform to use. I wish all bands were on there. I'd be way more likely to keep track of them that way.
Plus, i like having my picture underneath the album saying i bought it. Something truly satisfying about that.
Have you got an account?

Ps. I would totally attack you if you tried to wake me up. No question about it. You'd be mauled!

Pps. Thank you for being such a sweetheart. I don't deserve such a nice, supportive buddy.

Ppps. It's autumn! Only 30 days until Halloween. Awesome :)

Dex said...

What did you cook for dinner? I must know. I bet it was scrummy. Yes, scrummy :)

Hmm, what is happening in Lerwick land? I never know what's going on :) A quick look at the Shetland Box Office webpage should tell me all I need to know. Let's see.

The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain
Shetland Youth Theatre performing Sweeney Todd
Shetland Wool Week which includes the incredibly important North Atlantic Native Sheep & Wool Conference. No, I'm not making this up :)
Singing Kettle Wild West Party!
Seth Lakeman (who I know because of your sister's last.fm page)

Hehe, we have a ridiculous number of festivals. C'mon, Shetland Wool Week :)

I'm so sorry Lilly that I haven't been telling you the films recently. I just haven't been feeling up to going to the cinema lately. It's kind of mental thing. But I really do want to know what you think of the new releases. Is it okay if I still list them for you?

Blue Jasmine
Prisoners
Ain't Them Bodies Saints

And a screening of the National Theatre's 2011 production of Frankenstein starring Jonny Lee Miller & Bendyball Cumberquat! You're gonna say I have to see that, aren't you? :)

We get to burn stuff in January :) Actually, we have 10 fire festivals in Shetland throughout the year, all in different parts of the islands. No one likes to feel left out. Yep, total pyromaniacs :)

Dress up, burn a galley, get pissed - that's all Up Helly Aa really is. I missed it this year. Watched Django Unchained at the cinema instead :)

Have you got your Halloween costume all ready? Pink bunny hat? Or Kiki? :) I remember I went out guising one year dressed as a mummy. I had to keep going home to put more safety pins in because I was unravelling :)

Do you still have your sparklers?

Dex said...

G'night to you, Lilly dearest, and your lovely fizzy eyes :)

You'll be surprised to learn that I had very few sweet things today! Some Rich Tea biscuits, a Kit Kat, a handful of Cadbury's Buttons & Nibbles (the caramel filled buttons), and a chocolate from a chocolate box. Actually, that seems quite a lot now that I've written it down :) And it was all self-inflicted. No help from mum :) To quote Niles Crane:

"While Frasier is a Freudian, I am a Jungian. So there'll be no blaming mother today!" :)

I forgot to answer your question about Bandcamp! No, I don't have a page. You would have had another follower if I did. Well, I do follow you unofficially. I'm always checking your page. But I like to maintain a fairly low profile on the internet :) I just buy music (Black City Lights!) & listen. Bandcamp really is 'the balls'. Hehe, do you really say things like that in real life? I hope so :)

Hah, I'm not sure how nice & supportive I'm being, constantly taunting you with my iron clad belly :) As Rimmer would say:

"It's my duty. My duty as a complete & utter bastard." :)

I'm really in the mood for quoting tonight :)

Ugh, I've never seen Homeland. I'm such a useless tv watcher :( Please promise you'll strap me to a chair one day & force me to watch all these amazing shows.

Right, I'm gonna search out a gif of Clair Danes' crying face before I go to bed. I've got work tomorrow. A lot of boxes to fill. That's not a euphemism :)

Ps. Did you refrain from drowning the kids with the garden hose? :) Were they coming home from school along Coffin Way?

Pps. It's very easy being nice to you because you're such an awesome girl. I mean all those things I say. You're very sweet. In a kick you in the balls & steal your food kind of way :)

Ello Fungus, can't reply just now. Selfishly, i've got some series tv watching to do with the fam. Peaky Blinders and so many episodes of Homeland to fit in before the third series starts.

Promise to respond soon!
When i'm televisually satisfied :)

Ps. I might have to wait a while for you to be televisually satisfied. You're insatiable :)

G'night Maggot :)

Cillian Murphy & a soundtrack full of Nick Cave. I hope you enjoy Peaky Blinders :)

Louise Boyd said...

You're right, i'll never be fully satisfied and that's the awesome thing about tv.

I think i'm the only one the family that's really enjoying Peaky Blinders but i think that's because they're all cretinous bottomfeeders :)

Thanks for the tunes budddddy. I already knew of HOLOBODY and Soap&Skin but i hadn't listened to those particular songs. Nicely done.
And as you can see, you were fully credited on the blog. I'm no thunder stealer!

Ugh, just watched the second episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. I have this feeling it's not very good :( But Dollhouse wasn't very good at the start. Took a good 5 episodes to really hit its stride and then it got fucking outstanding BUT that had a Joss fully in charge. He's only somewhat in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D. Too busy making the next Avengers! I'll let him away with that though, cause he's the only person alive who should be allowed to make superhero movies. End of. Although the trailers for Thor 2 are getting me so hyped up it's embarrassing. Not that that's going to stop me going to the cinema to see it :) I need me a good dose of Loki and Thor bickering.

You've got Seth Lakeman playing in your fricking town?! You bastard. I adore him :( Go to it and steal him for me!
And yes, you must go and see Frankenstein or i'll come to Lerwick and beat the crap out of you.
I loved that during the performances of Frankenstein they would switch characters so both actors got a chance to be the brain and the monster. Such a cool way of doing it. I think i would have had to go see two screenings just to make sure i didn't miss out their different takes on both the characters! I'm sure Bendyball Cumberquat would have blown Jonny Lee Miller out the water in both roles but i have such a soft spot for JLM. How could i not after Hackers, Trainspotting, his Mr Knightley in Emma and not to mention Plunkett & Macleane! Such a crush on that man and i've heard some good things about Elementary. I still think it should be Lucy Liu as Sherlock though. That would have made for a different premise. Don't you just wanna marry that woman? I do. Especially when she gets scalped in Kill Bill. Such a magnificent death.

Geeked out a little. Not ashamed :)

Back to point.
GO SEE FRANKENSTEIN!
And Ain't Them Bodies Saints.
Not the other two. They sound shit :)

Dex said...

Hah, you're so magnificent when you geek out :)

"...you must go and see Frankenstein or i'll come to Lerwick and beat the crap out of you."

Oh Lilly, if I believed that, I'd stay home & wait for you :)

But of course I will go and see it. I didn't even realise it was 2 screenings with alternating performances. You keep me so well informed :) £26 special package deal, and you get a free drink. Hmm, don't think I'll be taking advantage of that. For one thing, ordering drinks at a busy bar is one of my many fears. I hate it, hate it, HATE IT! Anyway :), I think I might go & buy my tickets tomorrow. It's not until 31st Oct & 3rd Nov, but I'm always super worried that things I want to see will be sold out.

And I've got my first drawing class tomorrow. Scary!

For some reason, I can't for the life of me think what else I've seen Lucy Liu in apart from Kill Bill. But that's enough for me to like her. Maybe not marry though :) Seriously, I love that final duel. The music, the silence, the costumes, the garden, the water pot filling slowly up and emptying itself, the snow falling softly, the sound of the swords, the dash of red blood on the white snow...:)

Ps. Hehe, Pikapush :) But let's face it, you do way more with your life than watch things like that. Waaaaayyyyyy more!

Pps. Kick :)

Dex said...

Sorry Lilliputty, I'm always forgetting to ask how you are. So, how are you? :) Have you had a good day? Are you still watching Homeland with the family? I can't call them cretinous bottomfeeders. That's the kind of thing only families can call each other. Well, your family. Awesome people :) I bet you're all glorious insulters :)

This is such a random question, but do you subscribe to any magazines, or buy any regularly?

I watched the second episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. too. I think it's okay. Ugh, I sometimes feel like I don't have an opinion about anything. I would thrive in a dystopian future as a mindless worker drone. Unlike you & your strong opinions. You'd get into so much trouble :) Always so much fun to read what you think of things.

Okay, I'm gonna have to buy The Avengers. Like now. I definitely don't take your words lightly :) If you think Mr. Whedon is THAT good at making superhero films, then I have to see it. There, it's done :)

I'm trying to imagine what you do when you're all hyped up :) Anyway, I bet at the cinema, you're the quietest, most unobtrusive thing in the world :)

I did notice your way too generous words about my music finding abilities. Nudge :) You're just the best person in the world to share music with, you greedy music muncher :) More people should realise this. Your blog is an unbelievably cool place to hang out :)

You and your crush on JLM :) And I already knew you loved Plunkett & Macleane. I don't forget things like that :) Was the adaptation of Emma any good? That's my dad's favourite book.

Ps. "Not the other two. They sound shit". I don't know why that made me smile muchly, but it did :)

Pps. I'll do my best to steal Mr. Lakeman for you. But what would you do with him? Actually, don't answer that :)

Sirenical succubi - hehe, I love that. Word wizard :)

And just before I go to sleep, I came across a cool looking anime tonight - Fate/Zero. It has a girl wielding a massive golden Excalibur. Everything else is a footnote :)

Good morning Dr. (Lobster) Claw :)

Radiation City - Zombies

How'd your first drawing class go?!
Will you show me anything? Or is that cruel? I actually intimidate my psychologist cause he has to draw stuff for me sometimes and he feels shy because of my artistic background :) I enjoy that. I'm superbitch :)

I'd completely forgotten about Radiation City and i have two of their albums favourited on Spotify.
This is the problem with zooming through music the way i do. I rarely stop long enough to remember what i've listened to! I don't like it but i can't seem to stop...
Just another facet of my addictive personality. I should never try hard drugs. I'd die for sure.

Analysing books is something i only ever took the time to do when i was forced to. I was happy just to read them and enjoy the story without looking for some deeper meaning but lately i've been trying to use my brain a bit more. Otherwise, i fear it may start to disintegrate and i will be left with a deep echo in my skull. Hope i don't sound stupid when i talk about books. It doesn't really matter if i do but i try my best not to. Plus! i get to use big flowery words, which i usually don't allow due to sounding like a pretentious twatbag :)

Fun fact: The only difference between an incubus and a succubus is that the previous is male and the latter is female. Different titles, both life suckers.

I hate ordering drinks too! I always feel about 5 years old when i do it. Which is why i make my sister do it :) Buahaha
You must order stuff though? From Zlotys and wherever? I bet you're a pro and just don't know it.

Magazines? I have a yearly subscription to Artrocker. My uncle gifts it to me as a Christmas present.
It's a pretentious music magazine but i like music and i'm pretentious! Win win, i say.
Whyyyy? That is a weird question?
You got any subscriptions?

"I bet at the cinema, you're the quietest, most unobtrusive thing in the world :)"

You could be more right. I walk quietly to my seat. Get myself settled and allow myself and others to talk to me during the trailers but not during the movie. Then there must be utter silence or i'll brain you.
I like going to the cinema with my family but my parents are so noisy! They always have food that rustles and i get so annoyed but in a silent way.

Emma's your dad's favourite book? That's pretty sweet. Controversial as well. Thought to be one of Austen's most annoying books. Emma's a hard character to hate and love. I find that Alicia Silverstone did it best :)
What's your favourite book, Fungus?
Have you read Expecting Someone Taller yet? I can't remember...

Lilly! You’re so trying to embarrass me on your blog :) Love you, girlface :)

Drawing class went okay. Thanks for asking :) It was a little embarrassing. You see, I was the only one who hadn’t been before and the only one who couldn’t draw at all. But they were all very nice about my crap efforts :) We had to draw a curved object using straight lines & a straight object using curved lines. I found it almost impossible. I’m totally lacking in imagination & skills, both of which you clearly have in abundance. Hate you :)

Do you know that I don’t eat sweets when watching films in the cinema these days? I do still buy sweets, but I only eat them during the trailers or after the film for fear of pissing off any Maggots in the audience. Seriously :)

Those gifs :) Could I ask what the last one is from?

I’m sorry for asking weird questions :) It’s just that you’re always so well informed. I know that you get a lot of it from the internet, but I was wondering if you subscribed to any magazines that were very useful & informative, like for music or films. That was all :)

Dex said...

“Fun fact: The only difference between an incubus and a succubus is that the previous is male and the latter is female. Different titles, both life suckers.”

You’re just my favourite person in the world :) Who else is gonna tell me stuff like this?

Maybe subscriptions are an uncly type gift :) My uncle got me a subscription to The National Geographic one year. I still have all 12 issues they sent me on my bedside table. Not that I read them much. I have no idea why they are there. They just are :) What do you keep on your bedside table, Lilly?

Favourite book? As you know, I don’t read much because I’m so lazy but, and I’m aware this makes me seem like a ridiculous excuse for a human being (which I am), I would say my favourite books are ‘Winnie The Pooh’ & ‘The House at Pooh Corner’. Yep, if I could only choose one book (well, technically two) to take with me into eternity, it would be those stories. And I’d attempt to smuggle ‘Lord of the Rings’ & the Alice books through as well :)

What about you? That is something you don’t have to answer because I can imagine it’s really quite impossible for someone so well read, who loves books so much, to choose. But I had to ask :)

“I hope I don’t sound stupid when I talk about books?” – are you kidding me?! :) You sound like an intelligent, thoughtful girl talking about something she loves in a way that’s fun & interesting to listen to, who makes people want to read books so they can experience what she does because what goes on in her head seems like magic.

And not pretentious at all! Although I can’t promise to refrain from calling you a pretentious twatbag :) It’s glorious. You come up with the best expressions :)

And you may forget some music, but at least a lot of it is somewhere it can be found. I’m so happy you have a lot of loved tracks on your last.fm page :) I think you have way more patience with music than me. In fact, I think you have way more patience than me, period. That’s why I don’t listen to albums, watch tv series, read books. Ugh, I suck. But you seem to have a ridiculous amount of patience & energy for such things. Way more than anyone I’ve ever met in my life. That’s make you pretty awesome as far as I’m concerned :)

You’re right! I do order a lot from Zlotys. You remembered the name :) Last week, I had to order lunch for about 6 people on 2 occasions. I rock at ordering sandwiches when it’s quiet and there’s no queue :) But bars are so disorganised. And usually quite busy. And I’m the short, non-descript boy who never gets served because no-one notices he’s there.

I got my Frankenstein tickets from Mareel today. I always do what you tell me to do. Because I’m your monster :) I had to queue though. Behind a hen party going to a sing-a-long of Mamma Mia! Still, it was worth it. Bendyball Cumberquat & Jonny Lee Miller in Frankenstein :)

And I might show you my drawings at the end. Maybe :) I reckon I'd feel like your psychologist though :)

Ps. My dad actually likes Clueless! I was astounded :)

G'night Lilliputty :)

I had sugared jam doughnuts & Mr. Kipling's Lemon Slices today. Exceedingly good. Hah, I'm such a git :) Did you have any sweet things?

Have a lovely sleep. What pattern is on your bed covers at the moment? I like knowing these things :)

Ps. I'm reading Expecting Someone Taller at the moment. You've got me discovering new music, reading books, watching Joss Whedon films :) Those are amazing things to do for someone. Is that what being a superbitch is all about? :) Thanks Lilliputty. I don't deserve you. Okay, I do :)

Pps. I ordered Mort yesterday from Amazon too!

G'night Lilliputty.

I hope you've had a lovely day & that no one has been making you seethe quietly :)

"I hate ordering drinks too! I always feel about 5 years old when i do it. Which is why i make my sister do it :) Buahaha" - Little monster :) But I bet you make her lots of cups of tea at home to make up for it :) I imagine you're a master when it comes to making tea for your family :)

I like waking up to discover music on your blog. You're just the best finder ever. And I never use Soundcloud, so I don't get to listen to what it has to offer. Thanks so much Lilliputty. Don't know where I'd be without you :)

And 'Expecting Someone Taller' is so much fun to read. What a great present! You definitely know what I like :) I'm gonna read some more before I go to sleep. The Rhinedaughters have just hopped out of the River Tone. I love how it is all linked to The Ring Cycle. I'm enjoying learning about that legend :)

Hi Lilly

Did you find the spider? I don't think I've ever had a spider crawl on my cheek before. Lucky girl :) Actually, I'm okay with spiders in moderation. Moths on the other hand...I'd interrupt sexual intercourse to kill a moth, I really would :)

And here's a song. Ugh, a whole morning of song searching & this was all I came up with. Anyway, please let me know what you think when you get the chance :)

Bear Mountain - Congo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTARucjZXHQ

Also, while looking up a 2004 French film called Innocence starring Marion Cotillard based on a German book, 'Mine-Haha', I came across this piece of what I suspect is hardcore fantasy crap. I immediately thought of you :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWmbl_7VVYk

Louise Boyd said...

Oh goodness, i will watch the crap out of Innocence. How did i not know about this movie? Or the book?! I love this kinda trash! But of course you know that :)
I've seen the 2004 Innocence! It's pretty great. Nice atmosphere. Bloody French. They're pretty good atmosphere. And pastry.

I did not find the spider. It disappeared and i was a little nervous about it. For about 20 seconds. Then i read my book and went to sleep. Apparently nothing can prevent me from sleeping. Apart from my own brain and nocturnal tendencies.
I hope i don't find it squished somewhere tonight! That would suck and i'd have to pick it up, to take it outside and i don't want to do that.

"I'd interrupt sexual intercourse to kill a moth, I really would :)"

Oh god. I'm actually dying. That's hilarious. I quite like moths. Not the huge ones. They hound me at my window during the summer. Silence of Lambs style. But the little ones? Nah. My cat, Misty used to eat them for me. It was wonderfully cute :)

Yayyyy you're reading it! Are you in love with Flosshilde yet?
And don't you just wish you had the Tarnhelm? I would change myself into Kelly Reilly every day! She's hot. For a girl.
I think i'm gonna have to read it again now.
Thanks bud :)

Ps. The last gif is of Alison Pill from Scott Pilgrim vs the World. Awesome movie. Awesome girl.
She's in The Newsroom which i am watching currently. I love her. I love her so much.

Pps. Song. Not bad.

Hi Lilly :)

I like your new Vans from the dinosaur very much. You're a pretty cool girl :)

I kinda imagine you & your sisters as being quite different when it comes to clothes & shoes. Tell me I'm completely wrong :)

And talking of three sisters, how did you know I'd fall in love with Flosshilde? Am I that predictable? :)

"My cat, Misty used to eat them for me. It was wonderfully cute :)"

I think I would have liked Misty :)

"I've seen the 2004 Innocence! It's pretty great."

You're always one step ahead of me :) I'm glad to know that you think it had nice atmosphere. Definitely want to watch it now.

Ps. I'd use The Tarnhelm to go to France and get us pastries :)

Pps. Has clothes mountain reappeared?

Dex said...

G'night Lilly, you Rhinedaughter :)

I wouldn't want you to change into Kelly Reilly :) I like you just the way you are.

Does your brain often keep you awake? I remember you telling me that you used to recite the police alphabet to help you sleep. I thought that was kinda neat :)

Scott Pilgrim, The Newsroom...I promise I'll get around to watching all the films/tv you love some day. I wish I had the time.

Ps. I hope you didn't find the spider :)

Pps. Don't worry about being indoors so much, Lilly. You'll get outside soon enough. I'm sure of it. I really do think you're the most amazing girl.

Louise Boyd said...

Ello dearest, how's your day been? Performed any A* ordering of food today?

You have no idea how jealous i am that you'll be seeing Frankenstein. You bastard. Illegally film it for me. I'll have your back in court. Tell them you're clinically insane or something!

I think i'm getting bitten again. Bugs just won't leave me alone. I never did find the spider though and i'm really rather happy about that. Flattened spiders are not my favourite thing.
Did you know, that i never kill bugs?
Never ever.
Well i used to, before i felt bad about it or let my cat do it for me.
There's actually a spider-blood stain on my curtains.
I know, i'm disgusting but i can't be bothered taking them down and cleaning them!
You're disgusted by me aren't you? Of course you are, you're the cleaning king!

Speaking of my Misty, you probably would have liked her. She was very loveable but she didn't really like people. A bit or an oxymoron was my Minnie. She only really became the cat i knew and loved once the others died. They made her very nervous, which came out as anger. Lots of hissing and hitting. My poor Min, should have been a lone cat or just with her brother, Pepper. They were beautiful creatures.
I know, i know, cat lady but you don't care. I know you don't care!

I know you've seen Misty on the blog and unfortunately i don't have any pictures on my computer of Pepper but here's some Misty and all her pretty:

http://stickyelbows.blogspot.co.uk/2009/02/monsters-under-bed.html

http://stickyelbows.blogspot.co.uk/2008/08/lunan-bay.html

http://mycancerousbeloved.deviantart.com/art/Trouble-52193482

Cat lady, indeed.
Miss my babies. Yes, babies. I used to say the most disgustingly cute things to them. Along with calling them fucktards but saying it in a loving voice so they'd never know :)
My little fucktards.

A shameful truth i'm not ashamed of: I used to talk to the cats. Have conversations. They would talk back. Well, meow but with perfect timing and accents. It was one of my favourite things. Misty was the best at it. Hours of mindless fun with her.

I'm going to stop now because i'm starting to scare myself.

:|

I knew you'd fall in love with Flosshilde because she's a fucking legend! And everybody does :)
I love how she doesn't take Malcolm's shit, it's hilarious.

Ughhh the itching is driving me insane!
...
More so.

Dex said...

Hi Maggot :) How's your day gone?

I had an okayish day, thanks :) It's moving week, so kinda busy in the office. I haven't told you where we're moving to, have I? A place called Charlotte's House. Or Charlotte's Hole as it has affectionately been called :) So if you have images of a grand old house with a picturesque garden, like the place where they broke the Enigma Code, forget it. It's a shithole on a main road :)

http://statics.192.com/estreet/original/large/2104/21046423.jpg

I wish my food ordering was A* :) We actually had a sort of farewell lunch in the office to say goodbye to the place. I tried to hide under my desk for as long as possible, but they found me :) I did get some cupcakes out of it though. Three lemony & one chocolate :) Have you had any cake today? I'm always asking you about cake :)

"You have no idea how jealous i am that you'll be seeing Frankenstein. You bastard. Illegally film it for me. I'll have your back in court. Tell them you're clinically insane or something!"

I can just see you in court, giving testimony on my behalf, wearing a miniature top hat :) And there's no way you'd settle for anything less than perfect quality of Bendyball Cumberquat & JLM :) I'd probably fill half the screen with the back of someone's head & give the impression that it was filmed during an earthquake :)

Dex said...

Dirty girl :) But how do you know it's spider blood? I wouldn't recognise spider blood even if I was taking a nap under Shelob while she was having her period.

I think I'm giving you the wrong impression about my house :) It's not that clean really. I mean, it's not dirty, but it's quite cluttered & dusty, even my room (despite the constant hoovering). It's just that people making a mess & not cleaning it up really pisses me off :)

You're such a better person than me. Do you not even kill the bitey bugs? How do you stop them from biting you?

Of course I don't care that you're a cat lady and that they were your babies, or little fucktards :) I think it's lovely & sweet & adorable. You could tell me some of the disgustingly cute things you used to say to them if you like.

Misty looks perfect! I remember you telling me about how she changed when she was on her own. That's so cool she could kinda talk back. Misty must have made you feel so much better when you were feeling down. Aw Lilly, I just want to squish you right now.

"I like to photograph them and squish their faces"

Hehe, love that :)

So, it's October. I just realised! You know what that means.

"Goodbye bank balance, we've had a nice run but i must slash your papery veins and bleed you of your life so i can watch as much TV as is humanly possible."

Favourite human being ever :) So, what's on your radar this month?

Ps. Pikachu looks like me with the cupcakes today :)

Pps. I hope you go back to Lunan Bay & Broughty Ferry some day.

Dex said...

G'night lovely Lilly

I hope the invisible vampires don't get you during the night.

One more session & I think I might finish EST. Will he end up with Flosshilde or Ortlinde? Or neither? Can't wait to find out. And I've got Avengers Assemble to watch on blu-ray for the weekend. Super excited. It's funny the effect you have on my life. Thanks Lilliputty :)

Ps. I like your new photo on myspace. You look nice from the side. Actually, you look nice in all your photos.

Pps. And you're not insane. You're just you. A cool, funny, intelligent, itchy girl :)

Louise Boyd said...

Charlotte's House looks like a crap heap where junkies hang out together. You poor dear. Is it nicer inside?

I own a miniature top hat! So getting lawyered.

I know it's spider blood because i'm the one who squished the spider :)
Not my proudest moment but it was huge and freaking me out, so i smooshed it with a shoe.
Oh, the guilt!
Although i think that's kinder than sucking them up with a vacuum cleaner. That's basically putting them in dusty Purgatory!

"I wouldn't recognise spider blood even if I was taking a nap under Shelob while she was having her period. "

Yuuuuuuuck! But awesome :)

Sorry, this message it's a little fractured. I'm very sleepy and i had a lot of messages to reply to today. Popular me. That's never happened before =/

Do you still vacuum your bed every day?
Did you finish EST?
What did you think?
Questions questions questions.

I just spent the last 5 minutes with my head on the desk, practically asleep.
Energy? What is energy? Where does it come from?

Ps. The photo on myspace was actually just me checking i hadn't destroyed my hair after attacking my split-ends with scissors and getting a little overzealous...All's well. I've hacked inches off before when i was frustrated with it. I know, not a great idea but i'll do just about anything to get out of going to the hairdressers!

Dex said...

"Sorry, this message it's a little fractured. I'm very sleepy and i had a lot of messages to reply to today."

That's okay, Lilly. I'm quite sleepy too. It must be nice to be so popular :)

"I know it's spider blood because i'm the one who squished the spider :)" Oh, so you didn't lick the stain and tell by the taste :)

Hmm, what kind of shoe did you do the smooshing with? Probably a massive pair of Doc Martins, you wicked girl :)

I don't send bugs to dusty Purgatory because I believe they will breed inside the vaccum cleaner and attack me when I empty the bag :)

Do you still vacuum your bed every day? Most days.
Did you finish EST? Yes!
What did you think? Loved it! Thanks Lilly. Flosshilde & Malcolm :) Typical that I'm now in love with Ortlinde! I wish something nice would have happened to her. Ceasing to exist seemed a bit harsh.
Energy? What is energy? Where does it come from? Energy is a purple liquid extracted from natural resources by Decepticons to fill Energon Cubes. Fact :)

"Charlotte's House looks like a crap heap where junkies hang out together."

Hehe, that's the most accurate description of it I've heard yet :) I'll tell you more about Charlotte's House when we've moved in. Promise.

Hah, I ask way more questions than you, and you know it. I'm the question master :) I won't ask so many tonight because you're tired and you may have even more messages to reply to tomorrow!

Are you okay?
Have you had a good day?

Just the most important ones :)

Ps. I think your hair looks nice. Talented, scissor-happy girl :) And whatever the reason for it, you still look lovely in the photo.

Pps. I know you own a miniature top hat :) I thought you owned several.

Dex said...

G'night Maggot. You deserve lots of sleep. Dream of McFillion babies :)

You really are the girl in that anime gif you posted last week :)

For some reason, I don't think you'll like this song, but the video is very pretty. Personally, I think they're both lovely, but I'm a soppy wee thing :)

Pure Bathing Culture - Dream The Dare

Ps. If you have quite a lot of messages to reply to tomorrow, you could just send me a very short reply if you like. Call me a git or a fucktard or something. I'll imagine you're saying them in a nice way :)

Dex said...

Pps. I get out of going to the hairdressers too! A friend of my mum cuts it. She comes to the house. So, you're not alone in feeling that way. To be honest, I'm not at all fond of strangers standing behind me with sharp implements :)

So thanks for all the music and i'll be back when i'm less shell-like.

Ps. Two good movies on tonight:
Glorious 39 - not a great story but very lovely to look at (bbc 2, 10:30pm)
The Page Turner - French, atmospheric, creepy (Film4, 12:40am)

G'night Maggot :)

I watched both the films you recommended tonight. I'm very lucky to have a lovely friend like you tell me about these things.

Ps. You're very welcome for the music. Except you might dislike it all :)

Dex said...

G'night Smoky Cuddles :) Is dark blue really your favourite colour?

Y'know, I think you're amazing. I think you're amazing every time I look at your pages. I mean, you seem to have put up with so much bad stuff in your life, but you still manage to maintain the most important elements of what is essentially you. That probably makes more sense in my head. I'm terrible with words :) I guess what I mean is that it's easy to lose yourself completely during the bad times. But you somehow manage to find things to hang onto. That makes you a pretty incredible person as far as I'm concerned. I don't think many people could that.

Anyway, I watched Avengers Assemble today. I had a total fanboy freak out :) Josh Whedon gets it. He totally gets what comic books are all about. Let him make all the films!

Oh, and I feel completely comfortable in saying that Captain America is adorable :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIp-0V6YKfQ

And is this the best moment in the history of cinema? I know it's not, but it's frickin' hilarious :)

Thinking of you & please don't worry about being quiet for as long as you like. I miss you, but I know you have to care for yourself at the moment. Just so long as you're okay. Because I care about you. You're my friend. My talented, clever, funny, cool, adorable, pretty, foul-mouthed friend who keeps me entertained with her words, opinions, thoughts, imagination & insults. I'd take the whole of you in a heartbeat :)

Not what you looking for, I know, but I came across this while searching for paintings of Kafka's Metamorphosis.

http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2011/04/10/the-comic-book-fools-of-april-kafka-charlie-brown-style/

I feel so stupid. I didn't know anything about Kafka or his work before today. I learn so much from your blog. I'll definitely buy The Metamorphosis. That's one of the nicest gifts a person can have, I think, to make people want to experience these things for themselves. You definitely have that gift, with books, music, films etc. And you're so good at putting your thoughts into words. I'm the human equivalent of a like/dislike button :)

Louise Boyd said...

I'm getting your messages but i told you i need some time. I don't know how long but could you give me a break? I hate that i even have to say that. I don't need permission to want some time not talking. Sorry to be blunt but i've got a shitload to deal with just now and i can't handle your neurosis as well.

Dex said...

I'm sorry, Lilly. I didn't mean to sound like I was annoyed at you for being quiet. Because I'm not. Not at all. It's just that I worry about us drifting apart. I know that's silly. We can just talk when you feel like it. I don't blame you for needing a break. I need to be told to fuck off sometimes. I'll be quiet now.
