Yes, I think we are talking about the same film :D And I really hope that accent was intentionally awful! Kerry did actually make me watch 10 Things I Hate About You (as it is one of her favourite films) and it is only a matter of time before She's All That! :)

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer was hilariously awful, which is the reason Kerry made me watch it!

I know you love A Midsummer Night's Dream but do you have any other favourite Shakespeare plays?

Louise Boyd said...

Twelfth Night and Much Ado About Nothing.
My Top 3 Bard's.
I'm way more of a comedy of errors type than a tragedy lover.
However... Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet are still epically wonderful.
But if I had to pick!
10 Things will always be my favourite way to watch Taming of the Shrew, but the BBC did this series of adaptations in the early noughties, and their TotS with Shirley Henderson and Rufus Sewell was fucking magnificent.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453555/?ref_=tt_eps_top

Okay, if Kerry makes you watch a movie called Bring It On, you have to tell me.
It's the best cheerleader movie of all time >_<

Dex said...

Oh, Kerry loves Bring It On! It's on the cards and I'm sure she would have made me watch it already if I hadn't already seen it when I was in high school :)

I think I could listen to you talk about Shakespeare for ages. And I do love asking you to list things. Your lists are the best :) Mentioning Rufus Sewell makes me think back to that time that we watched Dark City simultaneously :) I really hope you get to see a live Shakespeare production again one day.

Dex said...

I do sometimes wish I could run away to Sandness for 6 months and just try to catch up on all the books and tv shows that I've missed out on over the years!

Louise Boyd said...

In what situation were you in to be watching Bring It On?!
That is soooo not the Dex vibe.
The perkiness... 0_0

I forgot about our Dark City watch!
Aw man, that so didn't live up the hype I created for it in my head :)

I do have plans for the Bard and I.
Mostly in the rewatching of all my faves, and finally watching the copy of the Gwendoline Christie stage production I have sequestered somewhere in my room - I know it's in here, I just can't see it.
Puck and Oberon kiss in this one.
As if they aren't making out in fairy groves behind the scenes at all times during the play ^-^
I should force you to watch some.
I know that Romeo + Juliet is on Amazon, at least, but maybe you've seen it already!
It was kinda popular...

Dex said...

I have seen a lot of films from the late 90s/early 00s. My friends and I used to rent them from a place called Da Cellar. I guess we must have just felt like watching a cheerleader movie :)

I still like watching Dark City with you even though I was very confused by what was going on. I mean, everything was just so, er, dark :)

I've never seen Romeo + Juliet! When it came out, hearing Shakespeare in a contemporary setting just confused me like the barbarian I was/am. I couldn't understand why they weren't talking normally :) But I'm so glad you have plans! You really would need to educate me!

Dex said...

Viking festival next week! The only part I'm excited about is the extra day off work!

Louise Boyd said...

Well, at least Kerry is taking care of part of your education, and she has more power because she can force you to do in person!
I have to rely on my internet stink eye.
It's not very strong -_-
I do need you to watch Romeo + Juliet, though. We can't be friends if you don't, (lies, all lies!). And the nice thing abut Shakespeare is, if it's performed well, the story becomes an intuitive thing, like understanding the cadence of someone's accent without trying.
Your brain just understands ever though the words seem foreign :)
I am living for the next American adaptation of something by the Bard, though. I rarely like when the US does it verbatim, but when they update it like Get Over It and 10 Things, it's so freaking gooooood >_<

I am mildly disappointed in you that you're not more excited by ritualistically setting things on fire, but... I'd probably be over by now, as well.
One question, though... is there food?
*is always thing with their stomach*
:)

Dex said...

I guess I'll have to watch it! Since you are someone I can't do without! I'm so uneducated about Shakespeare that I probably wouldn't even recognise if most of these adaptions are based on his works, and even less like to be able to work out which one!

You are right to be disappointed in me for not wanting to ritualistically burn things or even just watch it :) There is food at the halls. After the parade and galley burning, the rest of the night is the different squads going to various halls to perform their entertainment acts for the people there. I've only ever been to the parade bit but getting tickets for halls is a big thing!

Although there is a darker element to UHA in that the Lerwick one has been ridiculously misogynistic. This year is actually the first year that women have been allowed to join squads. Previously, they were banned from squads and the wives of squad members have been expected to act as hosts at the various halls. So, yeah, not really my kind of thing at all!

Dex said...

Kerry probably dislikes UHA more than me! Mainly because of the misogyny but also because she lives near the galley shed so has to put up with the noise they make throughout the year in getting ready!

Louise Boyd said...

My brain vomited a little when I read all that.
Wtf, Lerwick?!
And it's taken this long to let women join in and not just be glorified vending machines?
That is so wholeheartedly disappointing and I am so glad there are men like you who see that.
Honestly, I lose a little faith in the male race every day, and I'm so happy you're around to remind not everyone with a Y chromosome sucks, some are actually awesome!
Never, ever change, you lovely dumbass >_<

I'm guess you and Kerry will be watching very non-UHA movies on the night in protest?

Dex said...

I'm sorry I've ruined your impression of our vikings burning things. Fortunately, the smaller fire festivals outside Lerwick are free from all that crap. I'm really glad you don't think I'm like that :) Please don't ever change either!

Kerry and I will hopefully do some movie watching at the weekend :) It probably seems very weird that we spend a lot of evenings doing our own things separately while constantly texting!

Louise Boyd said...

I'll try not to change, but... I'm an ever-changing monster with an appetite for new brain thoughts, so I can't promise anything :)

You do know you're a millennial, right?
Texting is our love language.
We're too exhausted for in person hangouts 0_0

Dex said...

I definitely come across better in text than in real life :)

You wouldn't expect you to promise not to change :) But we have now been best friends for over 10 years and I still like you as much as ever so I guess there must be some things that have stayed the same. Or I've liked the changes! More likely it's both :)

Louise Boyd said...

Two things:

1) Stop being mean about my best friend! I may not have experience of you IRL but I don't need it, I know you're the best human online and in person!
And you can't disagree with me, because I'm always right, and you know it ^-^

2) OVER 10 YEARS?!
I have no concept of time 0_0
It feels like a minute ago we were discussing the gory glory of Fright Night.
We were just babies back thennnn >_<
Happy Friendiversary, Dexterous. Here's to many more years being fucking weird together :)

Dex said...

I know better than to disagree with you about anything. Especially when it gives me that warm feeling inside :)

It was very important to check which Fright Night your were watching. Definitely one of the most important things I've ever done :)

Kerry and I will hopefully watch some more horror tonight! We watched Scream 3 last night. It's her least favourite one but we still enjoyed it :) I don't know if I've asked you before about your best to worst Scream films?!

Louise Boyd said...

I'm going to be a total basic bitch and say the first Scream is my favourite *-*
It was just such a good intro! And the jump scares still get me.
And Skeet Ulrich was so unexpected! >_<
I'm very easy to trick, though, I never see the plot twist :)
I don't think I've seen past the third movie, sorta lost interest when I was old enough to not have to watch horror in secret.
...
SO fucking emo -_-

Dex said...

You'll be glad to know that Kerry made me watch Bring It On on Saturday night :)

Sorry, for some reason, I was sure you had seen up to at least Scream 4. Maybe because I just assume that you have seen everything :) And I think the first Scream would be most people's choice, including mine :)

Louise Boyd said...

Cliff Pantone, the love of my teenage life.
I'm gonna have to dig the dvd out, now.
Woe is me *-*

It's actually weird that I haven't seen 4, because I'd love to watch Hayden Panettiere die :)
I'm assuming she does, being blonde and all.
Are you gonna watch the new movie?
And is Deputy Dewey dead? I can't remember!

Dex said...

Did you end up watching Bring It On? :D

Hopefully you don't mind spoilers! She does get stabbed but it's not 100% that it is fatal so you might not enjoy it that much! And Deputy Dewey gets killed in Scream 5!

Dex said...

I'm finally going to get around to starting your January monthly tonight! It's one of my favourite things to do. It does usually take me a few nights though :)

Louise Boyd said...

Noooooo, not Deputy Dewey! >_<
That sweet moron should've been endgame!
At least tell me he went out valiantly?

I swear, I'm getting less and less articulate on the Monthlies as the years go by.
My brain is wet cake.
At some point, it'll just be no words, just gif reactions *-*
Enjoy my word vomit while lasts, dear boy :)

Dex said...

This is really bad but I can't actually remember how it ended for Dewey! Maybe valiantly... It was half way through the film so it's not like he sacrificed himself to save the day at the very end!

I will always enjoy your word vomit :D So long as you're still around telling me about all the things you enjoy, or even just telling me anything, I won't mind how gif heavy / word light your monthlies get :)

I think Shetland may currently be the covid capital of the world! It seems like almost everyone has it at the moment after UHA!

Louise Boyd said...

Well, that's what you get for being misogynistic fuckwits!
Not you, of course.
If we women ever do decide to go Mad Max on your gender, we'll keep you as one of the good ones :)

Did you ever see Fury Road?
I can't remember.
I went three times to the cinema 0_0
I'm so stoked for Furiosa! Not that I'll bother going to the cinema to see it. That's just asking for Covid ^-^

Dex said...

I actually have Fury Road purchased on prime and I have never got around to watching it! I will need to rectify that. Especially if you thought it was so good that you saw it three times in the cinema!

I'm so sorry if I shattered any illusions you might have had about island life. Hopefully it will all just be a distant memory some day. Have you had Covid yet? Kerry hasn't but I think she's the only one I know. Maybe all the best people like you and her don't get it!

Louise Boyd said...

It was totally worth shlepping my ass out to Dundee three times to see it on the big screen, but the rest of the fam watched in on regular tv and didn't get the hype, so don't be surprised if you're not as whelmed as I am over it.
It's really awesome, though. I don't think Tom Hardy says an intelligible word thought the whole movie and it's glorious.
If George Miller doesn't make more after the prequel's been released, I'm gonna be real upset.
Apocalyptically upset.

Or... is Kerry a bit of a hermit like you and I? Because I'm pinning my plague-freeness on my allergy to social situations :)
I've forgotten how to people 0_0

Dex said...

I have always heard very good things about Fury Road and you are an excellent judge of films so I do not take your recommendations lightly :) And I don't think you would leave your home on three separate occasions to go to a city full of people unless it was for a very good reason :) I think you, Kerry and myself would all rather stay inside and avoid social situations. I don't think I ever learned how to people :) Kerry is actually really good at it even though she is even less tolerant of people than me :)

I really wouldn't want you to be apocalyptically apoplectic :) Do you think you'd make the trip to the cinema for the new film?

Dex said...

I'm getting very bored with my lunches at the moment as I tend to just get the same things all the time. You always have excellent ideas when it comes to food :) Anything you think I should try? Or even just what is your favourite sandwich filling? :)

Sorry, I know I ask you such random things!

Louise Boyd said...

Have you tried breakfast for lunch?
Cereal? Toast? Porridge? etc.
I always eat breakfast for lunch, and if I can get away with it, lunch foods for dinner. It just makes more sense *-*

apocalyptically apoplectic

Sweet alliteration, Dexterous. Many kudos.
And I would consider the cinema for Furiosa.
I really like Anya Taylor-Joy, and I really want to know what part Chris Hemsworth is playing because he's listed but unnamed on the IMDB - very intriguing! But it's so damn expensive I might skip it =/
Cinema popcorn, though... so good >_<
What flavour do you get, if any?
Sweet and salty for me.

Dex said...

I think you have the right way of doing lunch and tea :) What would you put on your porridge? Also, do pancakes count as breakfast food? I still do love pancakes :)

So what would count as lunch foods for dinner? Things like soup and sandwiches and toasties? Also, what are your views on baked potatoes? Sorry, I seem to be asking so many questions tonight but they are all important :)

Just so you know, I would have gone to the cinema with you. Mareel don't do proper cinema popcorn anymore, just the store bought bags! If it's between sweet and salty, definitely sweet, or caramel popcorn if that's on offer :) I don't think I've ever had the sweet and salty combination! I know it exists but it's just not something I've ever tried!

Louise Boyd said...

Pancakes are an anytime food, in my opinion. And you can put whatever you want on them! Nutella, jam, peanut butter, marmalade, bacon, golden/maple syrup, etc.
It's the perfect delivery system.
When it comes to porridge, I treat it much the same way. Whatever I can throw in there, I will, but lately it's been any nuts we have, golden sugar (white sugar tastes weird to me), raisins (I know you hate them but it makes it taste like a cookie!), and dried coconut if it's around. Today I threw in some of the frosted shredded wheat cereal I collected the dregs of and put in a jar for this exact purpose.
I kinda liked it *-*
And if we had Nutella, I'd swirl it in as well.
Not jam, though. Every time I put jam in porridge, it completely disappears and I can't taste it. Weirdest thing =/
That was a lot about porridge, do you even eat it? I know it's a funny one for people, and I hated it for years until recently!

I hate baked potatoes 0_0
I hate their crunchy skin.
I hate their fluffy insides.
All other potatoes (except boiled, waste of starch) I'm a fucking fiend for, but baked is just wrong >_<
I'm feeling you'll disagree?

Next time you go to the cinema, get two bags, one sweet, one salty, and mix the two.
It's next level tastebud game.
And if there's a vinegar option, get that. Vinegar popcorn fucking rules.
I've been meaning to try what the Americans do with milk duds (which I have, courtesy of my Christmas present, thank you Dexterous ^-^) or M&Ms where they throw them in the warm popcorn and they melt.
Doesn't sound awesome?

I talked about food for this entire message.
Feels on brand for us :)

Dex said...

I love listening to you talk about food! The part about collecting the dregs of frosted shredded wheat to put on your porridge, I live for you telling me information like that :D I hardly ever have porridge these days but I have gone through phases of having it regularly and I've always enjoyed it. I did find the same problem you had with the jam, although in my case it was usually syrup, that when I started swirling it in, the flavour would tend to get lost. I remember that my granny used to put salt on hers - not something that would appeal to me! You'll be glad to know that we are also a golden sugar family :)

I almost always want to agree with you but I certainly don't mind a baked tattie :) Do you call potatoes 'tatties' or maybe that's just a Shetland thing?! I used to really hate them in primary school because I had this weird thing about butter (the baked tatties there were full of butter and cheese). But these days I would have no problem with them. I totally agree with you about boiled potatoes though :) They really are one of the most disappointing things to get served with a meal! Do you have a favourite kind of potato side?

Because I'm a sugar monster, the thought of throwing sweet things into warm bags of popcorn so that they melt is actually very appealing to me :) But vinegar popcorn... I didn't even know that was a thing and I'm not sure how I feel about it! But if you say it rules, then that's all I need to know :)

Dex said...

Did I tell you my parents are going away in 3 weeks? They are going to be away for 3 months. They are going to spend a couple of weeks in Aberdeen looking after Freya and then going to the Philippines.

Louise Boyd said...

You did not tell me that!
I wish my parents would go away for three months 0_0
That sounded terrible, but they're driving me nuts :)
Is Freya the Fairy Queen okay? Or is to help out your cousin while everything's going on?
Have you any tales of the wee sprite? Does she still beat up her special David pillow? :):):)

If you like vinegar, you'll like vinegar popcorn. End of.
But do the sweet and salty thing first, or go straight for the M&Ms! Either way, it's gonna be delicious.
And we do call them tatties, but only in my house for Mince and Tatties, which used to be my favourite meal when I was little and now I can take it or leave it. I'd say my tastebuds had levelled up but nah, if someone handed me chicken nuggets and McCain's smiley face potatoes, I'd be happy as shit ^-^
I fucking love potatoes 0_0
Em does this magical thing with leftover mash. She adds flour and turns them into potato scones.
Fried mashed potato.
...
...
...
I'd eat an entire plate and nothing else if I could 0_0
Have you ever had a potato scone?
It's this, for reference:

https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/241419/potato-scones/

The bought ones are okay but Em's are next level.

Ps. Salty porridge is pure evil. I know it's traditional but tradition isn't always right!

Dex said...

I would invite you up here if I could. Although then I might be the one to drive you nuts :) I think they are just going to help look after Freya while her mum starts a new nursing job. I think between that and the studying, she could do with a bit of help. Freya's dad has been around for the last couple of months but he is going away again in March so that's another reason my parents will be staying there for a couple of weeks, to take Freya to school and pick her up again and things like that :) I'm a bit afraid to ask about the pillow(!) but I know she's looking forward to reading books with my dad. Not that I'm at all jealous...

I don't know if I'm a vinegar person. I would have it on fish and chips but not much else. Obviously, I would try it if you made me (and probably end up loving it) :) Throwing sweet, melty things into hot popcorn definitely seems more my style :)

Mince and tatties are my school nightmare and I've never gotten over it :) I've never had potato scones and that was not what I had in my head when you mentioned them. They look like potato pancakes! :) I don't know if I could enjoy store bought ones knowing that Emily's ones were out there :)

I'm glad we agree on salty porridge :D

Louise Boyd said...

How do you know I wouldn't drive you nuts?! I'm quite the special human, and I mean that in the most finicky way possible *-*

I know it's a pretty natural reaction to family, and particularly young family, but it's incredibly sweet how you're all rallying around for Freya and her mum.
If I didn't already think you were all good people, I'd know for sure, now :)
Is Freya an active participant in the reading? Or does she prefer getting read to? And do you do special voices?!
Uncle Dexterous ^-^
Adorable.

I just realised it's Shrove Tuesday. Why do I never remember?! >_<
It's like Easter.
Damn moveable feasts, they're so sneaky!
Will you be flipping some fluffy discs this evenings, dearest?

Dex said...

Thank you, Lilliputty. I think we can both say that we have nice families :) I mean, your sister made me a No Face! :D

I'm no good at reading out loud. I have a very drony voice :) My mother on the other hand is excellent at reading stories! She doesn't do voices but she just has a way of getting children to listen to her :) I'd love to hear you read a story to Freya.

I had no idea it was pancake day until I read you message! How did this pass me by?! Let's make an agreement to try and make pancakes this weekend! What are you thinking for toppings? Also, do you properly flip pancakes? I'm always too scared :)

Louise Boyd said...

And your No Face is better than mine! >_<
She refined things when she made yours and I'm not grumpy that she still hasn't updated mine. Nope, not at all <_<

No pancakes were flipped yesterday, so sad, but we're lazy, so... *shrug*
I am an excellent flipper, though. It's one of my weird, unforeseen talents. I'm scared of frying bacon but flipping a pancake? No sweat :D
Do you ever use the Calcifer pan?

I am so bad at reading things out loud. I focus way too hard on how I'm breathing and end up winding myself because my lungs won't be normal >_<
I blame childhood asthma. Cry too hard - asthma. Get tickled - asthma. Try and read anything out loud - asthma!
God knows what'd happen if I ever took up running 0_0 Luckily that'll never happen because my knees have the consistency of fine china. One swift tap and they'll shatter :)

Dex said...

If I'm making pancakes for myself, I always use the Calcifer pan. I love eating his little face :) I should have made them for Freya when she was here! Next time!

I won't deny that the No Face Emily made for me is perfect :D But you get to try her baking whenever you like! So maybe we are even :) Is there anything for you to steal a slice of tonight?

I'm jealous of your pancake flipping skills! I'm basically the world's most cautious cook! Putting food in hot pans then leaping back in case hot oil melts my eyeball :)

Reading out loud isn't as nice a skill as being able to consume thousands of books quietly to yourself. And you are the most skilled person ever at that! :)

As you can imagine, there is very little chance of me taking up running either :)

Louise Boyd said...

I'm basically the world's most cautious cook! Putting food in hot pans then leaping back in case hot oil melts my eyeball :)

YESSSSSS. This. Absolutely that.
The mater's been making this Indonesian fried rice dish lately for dinner, and it involves a fried egg being placed on top at the very end (not for me, fried eggs are rubbery and weird and just no, not for me), and I swear to you, it's like she's being attacked every time!
The oil in the pan jumped so far it nearly hit me across the room 0_0
Frying things should come with a hazmat suit o_O
I demand you make Calcifer pancakes for Freya next time, though. Demand it. Even if she doesn't understand why he's the most precious fire demon to ever exist, she still must consume his cute little face.
We all must *-*
Although, maybe not, because I must have got you it before it become popular. So expensive, now 0_0

There is a 50/50 chance Sarah'll be making blondies at the weekend, and bread, and there's already Em's shortbread (the only shortbread I like) sitting in a tin in the kitchen. She puts Demerara sugar around the edges ^-^
Oh, and it's my gran's birthday on Monday, so there'll be chocolate cheesecake!
Spoiled. I am spoiled.
Please tell you've been to the cake fridge recently so I don't feel so bad 0_0

Dex said...

I just know she would enjoy eating his little pancake face even if she doesn't understand. I'm glad you bought it for me when you did. It really is one of the nicest presents I've ever been given :)

I don't know how your mum can be so fearless when cooking :) Sometimes I do the crazy thing of moving the pan off the hob so I can turn the food and then putting it back on! I'm a fairly ridiculous human :) Your mum sounds like a very imaginative cook!

Sarah's blondies and bread, Em's shortbread, chocolate cheesecake... I almost feel like lying about the cake fridge to make us both feel better :) Sadly, I haven't been in ages! I really should make a point of going there once a month! I hope your gran has an excellent birthday.

Dex said...

Just to let you know that I'm making Calcifer pancakes this afternoon :) I'm thinking just a classic syrup topping.

Louise Boyd said...

I think Calcifer would highly approve of this plan :)
Did you risk a flip?!
I saw someone on YouTube cook one side of a pancake, drop some Nutella in the middle, add more batter to the top and then flip to cook the whole thing.
...
I want to do that! But I am scared 0_0

Dex said...

I was too scared to flip! I think the problem is that I make crepes and cook them in a ridiculous amount of butter so a flip might lead to hot butter splashing :)

That does sound like an idea I would try (minus the flip if it isn't essential!). So do you cook one side of the pancake, add Nutella to the uncooked side and cover it in more batter before flipping?

Louise Boyd said...

Exactly! It's basically a Nutella pancake sandwich, and isn't that just the best thing you've ever heard?
I'm not sure how I feel about warm Nutella, though, it might get really sickly. Hmm.
Definitely have to try this. For science :)

Dex said...

Of course! For science! Hopefully it works okay in a crepe. That's really the only kind of pancake I know how to make :S I am definitely going to try it next weekend :)

What I'm really into at the moment is caramilk buttons. Basically caramac in chocolate button form :)

Dex said...

Dropped by Tesco on the way home and bought the Nutella in preparation for the weekend experiment :)

Dex said...

First of the month! Time to start reading another monthly :) You really must work so hard on them!

Louise Boyd said...

I was actually well prepped for this one, as well. Finished it two days ago! Almost unheard of 0_0
Hope you enjoy it and it doesn't crash your laptop ^-^

You can tell I'm a total psychopath because I think the Caramilk tastes very, very wrong.
Something about the texture. Caramac should snap! Not melt.
It hurts my brain and I don't like it >_<
Sarah did put pieces of it in blondies, though, and they were kinda awesome... i know nothing, my tastebuds are mercurial buttheads :)

I wish you luck and good fortune on your pancake endeavour. If it fails, just make Nutella crêpe rollups instead ^-^

Dex said...

My chromebook seems to deal okay with the monthlies. They did use to kill my old laptop :)

I promise I won't judge you at all for not liking caramilk buttons :) It just means that when we have our junk food film nights, we won't be trying to steal each other's snacks! You'll think me a monster though! I don't let chocolate buttons melt. I just chomp through them like an eating machine after chilling them in the fridge :)

I'll be sure to report back on Nutella pancakes/crepe rollups :)

Dex said...

My mother bringing home jam doughnuts has delayed the nutella crepes being made!

Louise Boyd said...

Fair play. I'd sacrifice Nutella crêpes for a jam doughnut. Although, it's never really jam, is it? More like a gooey syrup, which is awesome, but now I want a doughnut with real jam in it *-*

Dex said...

I am very jealous that you have a proper doughnut shop with driving distance of you! I hope your dad brings you some in the near future! Talking of me being jealous, would your sisters ever consider making your a real jam doughnut?

Dex said...

Oh, I meant to say, it started snowing here last night. I think it's supposed to be like this the rest of the week? Is it snowing in Blair?

Louise Boyd said...

Driving distance is still an hour away! And we're much too lazy for that. Better to nip down to Tesco and get a bag of them.
Although, I'll always be mad at them for changing the chocolate filling of their choc doughnuts. It was like Nutella but better, before, and they made it all dark and syrupy >_<
Greatest tragedy to ever befall a ring of dough -_-

It's possibly going to snow? We're in a valley, so it's usually a little low for the floof powder, we normally get the rain that comes after it.
So sad.
Is it terribly pretty on the island?

Ps. Sarah would love the make doughnuts but she's very scared of the frying part. Also she hates jam ones. Weirdo.
I might get some bagels out of her, though.
Fucking love bagels!

Dex said...

What would you put on one of Sarah's bagels? I would love to have a very fresh doughnut one of these days, right out of the fryer, just like the health freak I am :)

I've never had Tesco's chocolate doughnuts! I guess I'll never know what the classic filling was like :( Obviously, being so lazy, I haven't gotten around to the pancake experiment yet but the jar of Nutella is sitting and waiting... I'll sound like an old man but Nutella these days is far more expensive than I thought it would be! :)

The hill behind the house looks nice and it was the more powdery kind of snow which is the best kind. But driving to work and walking across slushy car parks isn't the most fun :)

Louise Boyd said...

Butter. Just butter. A sesame bagel, toasted golden, with copious amounts of butter is the perfect lunch for me.
But if I'm looking for a satisfying stomach ache? Peanut Butter.
I will suffer through the indigestion for crunchy, nutty goodness.
Feelings on pb? And bagels?

Slush really is the saddest form of snow. It's so grungy and always, always gets in your shoes, even if they're waterproof! What is that?! How does it do it?! >_<
I hate wet clothing. If my sleeves get wet when I'm washing my hands or doing the dishes, I have to change. It feels so icky 0_0

Ps. Everything's more expensive these days! I blame Brexit and a horribly handled pandemic :)

Dex said...

The fact that I wear my dressing gown 95% of the time when I'm at home doesn't help the wet sleeve situation. They really don't roll up very easily :)

Yes, I have had slush in my shoes several times over the last couple of days! Not much fun sitting with wet feet at work throughout the day :)

I like peanut butter but it has to be the smooth kind. I'm assuming you like the crunchy kind :) I hardly ever have bagels though! Although toasted with butter sounds like the perfect combination to me :)

It really hasn't been the best of times these last few years :S Still, I'm very glad we're both here and that you're still very much the Maggot to my Fungus :)

Louise Boyd said...

Okay, we saw tiny flakes of snow today.
Teeny tiny ones.
We might get hit with a few inches in the next few days.
I'm weirdly hopeful *-*

Smooth, crunchy, chocolate, different nuts, I'm not fussy when it comes to peanut butter, just as long I can put it in my belly :)
I'm not sure I'll ever get the American thing, though. We don't even have "jelly" here, and I would never put our jelly on a sandwich, and jam and PB would just be wrong 0_0
I feel like I have to try it, though. Just once. To see how gross it is.

Dex said...

I like snow so long as the house is warm and I don't have to go outside :) I hope you do get some so that your garden looks even prettier than usual.

I am quite curious about PB&J as well! I didn't realise that the jelly they used was different to our jam. For some reason, I thought they were the same thing.

Louise Boyd said...

We got snowwwwww!
I saw it come down for once.
Charlie's not happy ^-^

Dex said...

I'm really glad you saw it! Did it snow much? Was the garden coated? But poor Charlie :) I hope he is doing okay.

We got to go home a bit early today because the forecast for snow was so bad but it ended up being not much at all! I also took my parents to the boat so they are now away for 3 months! First stop in Aberdeen for a couple of weeks to look after Freya and then off to the Philippines.

Louise Boyd said...

Three whole months.
And you have free rein of the house?
That's fucking amazing *-*
I'm guessing you're going to take advantage of the living room/lounge first. That's what I'd do. Get all the snacks, make a nest on the couch, and stream until I passed out :)

The snow is gonnnnnne >_<
It lasted one day and then the sunshine melted it. So unfair.
But we might get more tomorrow. Maybe. It's probably better that we don't, because of safe roads and whatnot but ugh, I just wanna look at some fluffy white stuff, be safe and warm inside with a cup of hot chocolate, and watch Charlie tiptoe his way around the garden because the precious demon doesn't like to get his feet wet.
Is that too much to ask?!
On the flip side, I'd like the planet to get the message that it's Spring and I'm ready to get out of this infernal knitwear :)

Ps. Freya updates as you receive them, good sir, I need to know what wondrous adventures she's getting up to :)

Dex said...

Big question. Do you call it the lounge or living room? Also, is there a difference? I have to admit that I did spend most of my weekend in there doing exactly what you said you would do :) Also, I'm really sorry I didn't message yesterday. My only (pathetic) excuse is that I did spend most of it in a state of semi consciousness so I barely knew what day it was :S

Did you have hot chocolate when it was snowing? Do you have anything special with it? I'm surprised Charlie went outside and didn't just take over the most comfortable spot in the house :) The snow is nearly gone here too. The huge snowfall that was supposed to happen over the weekend never really materialised. There might be some more later in the week but I imagine it will be completely gone by the weekend if not before.

You will always get Freya updates. I know that she had banoffee pie yesterday and has been making a list of birds to look out for on the way to school this morning. My mum is on school walk duties for the next couple of weeks so maybe they will have some adventures together :)

Louise Boyd said...

I call it the living room, but really I think it should be called the snoozing room :)
Semi-consciousness? Due to a sugar coma or under the weather?
Both valid reasons but I like to keep track of your general wellness!
Is Kerry still educating you on classic 90s/00s teen movies?

Freya and Banoffee Pie... it just goes, right? Sweet and kinda mischievous ^-^
I bet your mum'll have the best conversations with her on the way to school. Does she drop non-sequiturs in an entirely serious way? I love when kids do that. Adults not so much, but tiny people? Fascinating and hilarious.

Dex said...

I like that you keep track of my general wellness :) It really was just a lazy Sunday. I only got up at midday, which is very late for me, and spent the rest of the day in the snoozing room, watching tv and eating chocolate buttons :S

Even though we see each other all the time, I haven't spent that much alone time with Kerry over the last couple of weeks. I think it's due to us both being lazy and antisocial :) Or she's just very bored of me!

I think Freya just lets her imagination run away with her so she's always saying random things that only make sense to her :)

Louise Boyd said...

Normal sized chocolate buttons or giant buttons?

I wish I still had my kid imagination. It was full of fantastical beasts and adventure, now I'm too sleepy and need books to do it for me *-*
I wouldn't trade the books for anything, though.
However... I think I'm going to have to do a cull and sell some of them >_<
I'm not gonna say I've got too many, because I'm already planning on my next purchase, but I definitely need the space and some members of my library are simply never going to read - Moby Dick.
And some I outright hated!
...
Why am I panicking at the thought of getting rid of them? 0_0

I wouldn't stress about Kerry losing interest, you're epic, and it's healthy to not spend all your time together. I think I'd actually murder someone if I couldn't have alone time =/

Ps. I know it's a bit away, but will Freya be part of an Easter Egg Hunt?
And if so, will she wear her unicorn outfit?

Dex said...

Giant buttons. Chilled in the fridge, of course :)

You're probably panicking because you love books, even the ones you hated! And because they are your books! So it is a huge deal! But the space you free up, you can fill with books that you might actually love even more :) Also, Moby Dick is the only book I can think of that my father has openly said he did not enjoy! I still really wish I could magic you up a secret library.

Thank you, Maggot :) I think we are all creatures who enjoy our alone time!

I really hope Freya is part of an Easter Egg Hunt in her unicorn outfit! I'll definitely be suggesting it to her mother :)

Louise Boyd said...

Thank you for the book logic, it soothed me for a bit and now I'm wrestling with my brain again because I want to keep all the books!
My brain is stupid, she needs a muzzle *-*
I will get ride of Moby Dick, though. I don't even know why I have it, I'm afraid of the Ocean! Like hell am I reading a whole book about a whale being murdered 0_0
The most interaction I want with the sea is to gawp at a leafy sea dragon because they're friggin' spectacular >_<

How's the parent free living going so far?
Does it take you a minute to get used to them not being there?
It does for me, especially at night. I'm so used to them making noise that it unnerves me a bit when they're not there x_x

Dex said...

I occasionally get that uneasy feeling like when I was a kid and the house was dark and I had just finished watching a horror film totally inappropriate for my age :) But I also get the sitting room to myself to watch tv and sit on a comfy chair with my feet up :) I really do hope that you do get plenty of time to yourself.

Have you ever seen a leafy sea dragon in real life? If not, we'll definitely do that some day :)

I definitely wouldn't want you to feel like you had to get rid of some books even though you didn't want to! Is there really no space in your house that you could use?

Dex said...

The snow is now completely gone! I'm not sure if I want it to come back... I think I'm about ready for summer :)

Louise Boyd said...

My brain is basically going: Sum-mer! Sum-mer! Sum-mer!
We need warmth and sunshine, Fungus. If anything just so we don't get rickets x_x
It's warming up here, though. Around the 13Cs.
I went outside today without scurrying back inside in fear of frostbite. It was awesome.

I haven't seen a leafy sea dragon in real life! And I'm actually quite glad. As long as they're safe and happy in the ocean, I can live without being in their presence :)
And seeing as I'm NEVER going snorkelling or deep sea diving, it'll just have to stay that way and I can make do with the bulbous goldfish as Dobbies ^-^
Have you ever had goldfish?
We had fish for a while, a proper tank and it was really gross 0_0

Ps. Our house is like a warren: Full of things with no room to move.
Truly, there's not a surface left. It's bonkers.
What I would give for just a little shelf space or somewhere to put my trainers!
In fairness, I do have a ridiculous amount =/

Dex said...

13Cs would be summer for us up here :) Did you manage to do some reading in the garden? Charlie must be happier now :)

We've never had a goldfish but I used to look after the one in my mum's nursery a lot when she was on holiday. I call him a goldfish but he turned white years ago and must have been ridiculously old :) Did you have a garden pond?

I imagine that every member of your family have various collections of something :)

Louise Boyd said...

Charlie's very happy. He's nesting on my bed. My bed with fresh sheets.
There are dirty paw prints sporadically scattered.
The monster.

Was he Koi?
I love Koi.
I mean, everyone does, right? They're so pretty and friendly.
Did you name him?
Maybe he was a wizard trapped as a goldfish *-*

Dex said...

And I bet Charlie knows they are fresh sheets too :) I'm glad he is comfortable though. I hope you are too :)

I tend to think of Koi being bigger than a goldfish but I'm probably wrong so maybe he was! He certainly turned very white :) The children in the nursery were allowed to name him so they just went for the very obvious Nemo. He really was just an eating machine :)

Dex said...

I forgot to say that I have tomorrow and Wednesday off work. Not that I have any plans other than cleaning and watching tv!

Louise Boyd said...

And what's on the menu for your visual enjoyment?
A movie splurge or series binge?

According to google, Nemo was indeed a very old fish.
Nice to know it's not just us a humans who lose our colour with age!
Even Charlie's getting more white hairs throughout his fur, but he is middle aged at this point. Not that he acts like it. Half kitten, half teenage brat, that's my Charles *-*
He's snoring next to me, right now. Little monster.

Dex said...

I've just been watching some old tv series. On dvd. I really am an old man :)

I've never had a Charlie snoring next to me but it sounds like the best thing in the world :) I'll never get over how much Charlie feels at home in your house :)

Nemo must be at least 15 years old which is why I wondered if he was a goldfish as I didn't think they lived that long!

Louise Boyd said...

According to google (yes, I ask it everything), goldfish live for 5 to 10 years, and Koi live for 25 to 35 years.
Nemo's probably a small Koi.
Did he look like this?

https://petesaquariums.com/wp-content/uploads/Gold-Ogon-Koi.png

Or maybe he's an entirely different fish!
My knowledge of the flippered ones is not exactly fount-like.

Which old tv series?!
Besties don't keep televisual secrets, Dexterous!

Dex said...

He is quite similar to that but he doesn't have those little spike bits on the side of his mouth. Still, going by his age, he must be a small Koi! I do like that you looked it up for me. Thank you :) I really don't know anything about fish! I know he was bigger than the other goldfish that used to share the tank with him. And he likes his food. I used to get very worried whenever he went a day without being fed!

I'm usually too embarrassed to tell anyone about my old tv series. But since you're my best friend! I've just been watching some of Michael Palin's old travel documentary series! I don't know why except that I find them quite relaxing!

Louise Boyd said...

Half because I love googling things, half because you're my bud.
Koi are cool, though. Fish aren't normally affectionate but Koi are; they recognise their owners, come when called, and can perform tricks!
Plus, such pretty scales.
No wonder everyone loved Nemo.
Speaking of, I watched Finding Nemo 2 earlier in the year and sobbed like a baby ^-^

Palin's awesome, though!
I don't actively watched documentaries, but if I stumble upon a good one or the rentals are watching one and I'm in the same room (like the Dolly Parton one last year; so good, love Dolly) I always enjoy myself.
And Palin's are always fun because he's so unassuming and dry without being patronising.
Plus, he's always been my favourite Monty Python alum.

Dex said...

Nemo's only trick was see how much food I can eat :) He also used to suck up the tiny rocks in the tank, clean the food off them, then spit them out :)

I always did like Finding Nemo, probably because I like how Pixar animate water. I'm glad the sequel made you feel like that :) What's your favourite Pixar film?

I love that you always accept my weird watching habits :) Not sure how much I learn from documentaries. It's all I can do to stay awake :) Also, Dolly Parton... I'm always learning new things about you!

Louise Boyd said...

Favourite Pixar? Ugh, that's hard, but if I had to choose? Probably Toy Story or Up.
They're so beautiful and funny, and manage to deal with loss and aging in such a matter of fact but whimsical way that it doesn't feel clichéd or a total downer.
Plus, has anything from Pixar ever been as iconic as To Infinity and beyond!?
Doubtful, very doubtful.
This decisions hurts though because... Monsters Inc., and The Incredibles, and Luca! I really loved Luca, which is also a masterclass in cgi water.
I'm gonna guess that your favourite is... Toy Story?

I mean, you accept all my weird watching habits and that I force them on you, it's only fair to reciprocate!
Documentaries are good, though. I wish I watched more but I'm such a space cadet, I need fairy stories to keep me present.
...
Kinda backwards, isn't it? *-*

Ps. Dolly Parton is an absolute legend, I've been in love with her since Steel Magnolias and hearing Jolene for the first time.
Did you know she wrote I Will Always Love You and Jolene on the same day.
...
WTF?!
Two of the greatest songs of all time and Dolly knocked them out in a day.
...
Majestic 0_0
Plus, she's so nice :)

Dex said...

I really know very little about Dolly Parton but I can easily believe that she is awesome, especially if you say so :) Both songs in a day... How can someone be that talented?!

I've actually seen very few Pixar films. Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life, The Incredibles... That might be it! So I'd feel a bit of a fraud in picking a favourite. I know it's incredibly unfair that I ask you questions, and then don't answer the same :) But I do love listening to your opinions on everything! Okay, I'm going to say Toy Story 2 because it's the one I've seen the most :) I'd never even heard of Luca!

I don't think you need to watch more of anything. You'll always find enough things that you want to watch :)

Dex said...

My parents have now left Aberdeen (and Freya) and are in London for a night on their way to the Philippines. Did I tell you that she calls me cupcake for some reason? :)

I actually don't know when they are due back. I think my cousin has liked having them look after Freya these last two weeks. They were going to stay a week in Aberdeen on the way back but she has asked them if they could stay for longer so I have no idea when I'll see them again!

Sorry, I just like to keep you updated about these things :)

Dex said...

It was snowing here again today!

Louise Boyd said...

I'd say I was jealous but... we had mega sunshine today :)
Still cold as shit, I can barely stand outside without being a wimp about it, but a few minutes of vitamin D is better than nothing!

She calls you CUPCAKE?!
>_<
S'too much. How dare she be so freaking cute *-*
Do you think she calls her punchy-David pillow cupcake as well?
I might actually lose my mind if she does.

Dex said...

I think I'm the one who is jealous of you! We need mega sunshine! Anyway, the snow has gone and it is pouring rain tonight. I'm glad you managed to absorb some of the sun's goodness. I'm sure Charlie did as well :)

Cupcake may just be because I'm something soft that she can punch! I will need to ask her about the pillow :) She also gave her mum and my mum a warning ticket for eating her favourite chocolates :)

Louise Boyd said...

She also gave her mum and my mum a warning ticket for eating her favourite chocolates :)

*dies*

>_<

What are Freya's favourite chocolates?

Ps. I approve wholly of this queenly power move.

Dex said...

I'm going to have to ask Freya what her favourite chocolates are. It's terrible that I don't know! Before they left, my mum bought her cupcakes and told her they were from the cupcake! I feel a bit of a fraud but she did demolish them :)

My parents have arrived in the Philippines. They haven't yet made it to the farm but are staying the night in a hotel in Cebu. That's a city on an island just across from Bohol so they should be getting a ferry across.

Louise Boyd said...

Wait, did you mean the Cupcake Fairy?
Because that bitch is real.
She'll feed you sugar and get you hooked.
The corporate sellout x_x

Why does everything sound so whimsical when you talk about the Philippines?
A night in Cebu. A ferry across the water. An island city.
WHIMSICAL!

Dex said...

Oh, I believe in the Cupcake Fairy :) I meant that she told Freya they were from me (The Cupcake). That's why I felt a fraud :)

The climate is just a little bit too warm for me :) And the mosquitoes! Also, when you walk off the plane, it's like being hit by a wall of heat! But my parents enjoy being on the farm. The family who look after it for them are so hardworking and do pretty much everything so it's probably a nice place to retire :)

Dex said...

I did something ridiculous on my day off. I went to see the new Scream film in the cinema on my own at 12.15pm!

Louise Boyd said...

Well... at least you didn't see it at 12.15am? 0_0
Was it any good?

I forgot! Of course you're The Cupcake! It probably just made the cupcakes even more delicious knowing her awesome uncle "got them" for her :)

Sorry, this message is gonna be short, I've got tendonitis in both hands and typing is actually horrible, and I've still got to finish March's Monthlies x_x
My fingers are aching >_<
Send me recovery vibes while I type with my elbows.

Dex said...

I'm so sorry about your hands, especially with it being the last day of the month. I was just about to wish you good luck with your March monthly, now I mean it times 10! You can have all the recovery vibes.

12.15am is well past my bedtime :) I thought it was okay. I do prefer the original films though, probably because they are a bit more likeable.

One of these days, I will actually make her cupcakes :)

Dex said...

I'm really glad you got your March monthly uploaded despite your tendonitis! I don't think anything can stop you!

Dex said...

I forgot to tell you that Kerry and I have booked somewhere for the Easter weekend. It's just in town but we thought it would be nice to be somewhere different and watch films, play board games, eat takeaway... Like the unsociable people we are :)

Louise Boyd said...

The hands are on the mend! I can finally type without stopping every two seconds to curl my fingers into the claws they naturally wanted to be before.
This is what I get for procrastinating all month and doing 30 days of work in two days *-*
I've always been like this. This was basically my technique for school: wait 'til the last minute, panic, bullshit my way through whatever assignment needed done/revising for exams and somehow pass with impressive grades for such lazy arse behaviour x_x
I hate being late for things but I will do everything else before a task needs done.
Explain that to me 0_0

I do believe that's what they call a Staycation.
...
Totally cool with the act but the word makes me furious >_<
Is it a hotel or are you renting a house again?
Such grown up behaviour, ewwwwww :D

Dex said...

I would never normally use the word Staycation either! :) We are just renting a house for 3 nights. But I'm not sure how grown up our behaviour will be! :)

I think we had the same approach to school :) Except you are clearly just a naturally intelligent person! It does make me a bit jealous :) I'm glad we both hate being late for things :) I do wish I was a better prepared person though. I always like the idea of being one but whenever I do something, it really doesn't take much for me to start making such a mess of it!

Well, you do probably spend most of the month enjoying the things that you are going to be posting so no wonder it sometimes takes a while to get around to the actual blog part :)

Louise Boyd said...

Do you do that thing where you don't want to be late, so you get ready ridiculously early, pace around and watch the clock count down, and then panic because you're going to end up being too early, or worse, right on time but something will inevitably go wrong and your whole body will just shut the fuck down in panic? 0_0
Or is that just a me thing? =/

What've you enjoyed this month, Dexterous?
Top 3 things?

This Easter, I'm going to bite the head off a Malteser Bunny, because it's tradition, and watch something blasphemous :)
I imagine you and Kerry will be doing much the same.

Dex said...

I think it's very much an us thing :) I tend to leave the house early, realise I don't want to be too early, so try to find the slowest way possible, then realise I'm going to be late so end up speed walking and arriving at the destination all hot and flustered!

Top 3 things... I'd probably have a hard time thinking of 3 things that I have done! I'm currently reading 3 books: 'Around The World In 80 Days', 'Right Ho, Jeeves' and 'Murder on the Links', I went to see the new Scream film (as you already know), and Kerry and I have started watching the new series of Taskmaster. Also the usual dream pop listening :)

Kerry really doesn't eat much chocolate! She'll be drinking wine while I get my sugar high :) I'm sure we'll watch something blasphemous though and I'll follow your lead and bite the head off a Malteser Bunny :)

Louise Boyd said...

Oh god, the panic walk.
Every day to get to school, which was a ten minute walk, but I left getting ready until the last minute so I could sleep more, and then panicked about missing registration so I basically ran.
And I don't run x_x
Our brains are the worst.

I approve of all your Top 3 things! :D
Especially reading three books at once and Taskmaster.
They've got Mae Martin this season, right?
I love them >_<

Dex said...

Yes, Mae Martin is one of the contestants. They made everything look so easy in the first episode! Kerry really loves Taskmaster so she has been making me watch some of the previous series :)

I always used to get to school ridiculously early because my dad would give me a lift when he went to work. Most of the time I was the first one there, at least in our year! I wish I could have slept more :) Also, my registration class was at the very top of school so I used to have to trudge up all the stairs in the morning :)

3 books at the same time is probably nothing to an expert reader like you :)

Louise Boyd said...

Three books at once is actually my perfect literary balance.
One for the morning to wake up.
One for at night in bed.
And one for immediately after that to settle into sleep-mode.
Perfectly logical.
I can't believe I forced all those fantasy books on you, though *-*

I love Taskmaster but for me it definitely depends on what comedians they round up to do it.
Some seasons have felt really off because they don't gel together comedically, but other seasons it takes great force of will not to give myself a hernia whilst laughing.
My dream team looks like this:

Noel Fielding.
Frank Skinner.
Tim Key.
Rose Matafeo.
Katherine Ryan.
Hugh Dennis.
Richard Osman.
Joe Lycett.
Rob Beckett.
Romesh Ranganathan.
Aisling Bea.
Bob Mortimer.
Hugh Dennis.

It'd be bedlam, but hella funny.
I highly approve of Kerry forcing you to watch it.
And basically anything good.
Bullying is good for your health :)

Dex said...

I've always been very glad about the things you have forced onto me! Thank you :D I just wish we lived close by so it would be easier for you :) I'm just sorry I'm currently in old man mode at the moment and mostly reading very stuffy books! We could definitely have spent days together reading our 3 books :)

That really is an excellent dream team (and you know how much I love your lists). I think you and Kerry do seem to like a lot of the same people! I tend to empathise with the more useless contestants :) I'm sure she'll be forcing me to watch plenty of things this weekend!

Louise Boyd said...

Oh, I love a useless contestant.
There's a particular season with Mel Giedroyc which is so full of ineptitude that it makes me look like a Mensa level genius *-*
Any favourite contestants?

I like your old man mode! Never apologise for liking what you like. Have I taught you nothing?!
(if you say sorry, I will flick you through the internet)
I've never mutually read next to someone before, other than school.
I'm not sure if I'd be any good at it, I get distracted so easily.
It's why I could never study in public spaces or even the uni library. DOJ had giant windows all along the side where the study desks were and I just people watched instead of reading about stuffy old artists :)

Dex said...

Hello Lilliputty. I'm really sorry for the brief message but currently in a small flat, watching and eating rubbish :) I hope you have so much chocolate this weekend! I promise I'll message you again as soon as I'm back if not before then!

I'm going to have a think about favourite contestants but Phil Wang definitely sticks in my mind, sometimes for the wrong reasons!

Thank you for always being so understanding of my old man mode! You really are the best :D

Louise Boyd said...

Happy Easter, Dexterous ^-^
Hopefully you're in a sugar come right now, the best kind of coma.

Phil Wang in that Kill Bill jumpsuit is something that'll haunt me to the ends of the earth.
Some things seen cannot be unseen >_< 0_0 -_-

Dex said...

Oh god, the jumpsuit! Especially when hula hooping!

We did watch the whole of series 5 at the weekend. So it was clearly a wild holiday :) It has been my favourite out of the ones I've seen so far. Definitely the contestants I've liked the most

I didn't have any Easter Eggs at the weekend! I'll need to buy some this week since they will now be on deal :) Feel free to make me jealous with your sugary adventures :)

I'm back home now. The place we stayed was just in town so only 5 minutes drive. I know that must seem odd but the frustrating thing is we can't really take a holiday from work at the same time so can't really plan any proper holidays. We definitely need to start thinking of a way to get around that!

Louise Boyd said...

I mean, for sure, but simply spending time together is the most important thing, right?
Are you still keeping it on the down low?

For the day of a made up deity's resurrection, Sarah made coconut sheet cake and chocolate nests.
I ate both and felt delightfully sick ^-^
You've got some catching up to do, my friend.

I've always wondered if the contestants are asked to dress up or it's just something someone did early on in the series and it's been a them ever since.
Because not everyone does it!
But I love when they do.
Noel Fielding's yellow, skeleton jumpsuit is a particular favourite.
That probably wasn't a costume for him, though...

Dex said...

Yes, still very much on the down low :) I can't see us ever bothering to tell anyone. We are both very private people and there doesn't seem to be much reason to go against that. You're still the only one I've told, seeing as you're my best friend and all :)

What is a chocolate nest?! In my head, there are Cadbury's mini eggs in the middle of them :) As usual, I am very jealous!

If you were on Taskmaster, what would be your costume of choice? :)

Dex said...

I finally got around to making the Nutella pancakes! They weren't a complete success but enough to try again. I definitely need more practice :)

Also bought a cheap Cadbury Buttons Easter Egg :)

Louise Boyd said...

Yes to all the chocolatey goodness!
If the pancakes continue to be finicky, just drop some Cadbury buttons on top instead, like massive chocolate chips :D

Chocolate nests are this:

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/shredded-wheat-nests

And they're friggin' epic.
You can make them with any cereal you want as well: rice crispies, cornflakes, cheerios, shredded wheat.
I'm a fan of all.
All kids food, really. The more childish the better ^-^
And yes, mini eggs must be in the centre. No substitutions.

Hmm, I if I was on Taskmaster, my costume would be... this:

https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61HQY5DF8fL._AC_UL400_.jpg

One hundred percent.
Yours?

Ps. Thanks for trusting me, and FYI, I kept my longest and most meaningful relationship a secret for a year.
No judgement from me!

Dex said...

Why did I not think of the Cadbury buttons on pancakes?! You have the best ideas :)

I bet Freya would absolutely love Sarah's chocolate nests! Obviously, so would I :) What kind of cereal would she use? One of the things that has always made me very happy is our agreeing that Cadbury mini eggs cannot be substituted for another kind of chocolate egg :)

You would be my absolute favourite contestant in that costume, even before I saw you do any tasks :) I'm not sure about my costume... Maybe a Kiki type witches robe!

You know that I trust you completely. Even just typing that gives me a warm feeling inside :) I've never asked you about your relationships because I've always assumed you were very private about things like that. I'm glad we have that in common :)

Louise Boyd said...

"Maybe a Kiki type witches robe!"

>_<
This is why you're my favourite. No qualms at all over wearing what's essentially a dress and a giant red bow.
Gender rolls be damned!
I insist upon this now, you gotta, if the opportunity ever presents itself.
I'll be Jiji, I already have a cat onesie :) I just don't wear it because it creates so much static I could power the town 0_0

Does Freya have preferences over chewy or crunchy things? Or is it solely based on taste?
Because the nests (which Sarah made with shredded wheat this time because I asked, but normally it'd be rice crispies) are like a really dense cookie. Not chewy but not crunchy, either.
I wanted them chewier because I love chewy things, but... yeah, for future Freya knowledge: crunchy or chewy?
You too, I wanna know!

I think I was only private about my relationships when I was younger because I was convinced my parents would stop me seeing them so I could focus on school.
Looking back, they probably wouldn't have. It would've be kind of hypocritical as they've been together since they were sixteen.
But I was convinced and it did a lot of damage to my relationships.
It wouldn't happen now, though. I promised myself that whenever (or if) my next relationship happens, I'll not give a shit what anyone else thinks and do what I want (respectfully, I wouldn't hurt anyone) because it'd be nice not to be a total basket-case just because I have a boyfriend >_<
I mean, I'll be a basket-case either way because I'm me, that's a given ^-^

Dex said...

We would make such a good team :) Also, I didn't know about the cat onesie! I must see you in this one of these days. I don't care how long I have to wait :)

I will say chewy for both Freya and me. I guess we all like to work for our sugar :) But if Sarah or Emily were making anything, I really don't care how it comes out as I would demolish it anyway :) Shredded Wheat is my dad's favourite cereal. Don't know why I felt like mentioning that :)

I don't think I can help being a basked case either :) And any boyfriend would count themselves too ridiculously lucky to ever be worried about keeping a relationship with you a secret!

Dex said...

I know that things can change but we are apparently in for a whole week of sun next week!

Louise Boyd said...

"I know that things can change..."

I have SUCH a catastrophising brain. I read the beginning of your last message and was instantly convinced I was getting friend-dumped *-*
Wtf is wrong with me?! >_<
...
Fuck yeah to sun, though :D

What's your favourite cereal, Dexterous?
Or are you a variety pack kinda fellow?

We would make an excellent team... sitting on the couch watching movies and devouring snacks in our Taskmaster outfits instead of doing to impossible tasks to appease His Lordship, Greg Davies ^-^

Dex said...

I hope you know that would never happen! No matter how much things change, you'll still be the Maggot to my Fungus, the person I would want living next door to me in The Good Place so we could watch films and eat snacks together. Cue the projectile vomiting at our computer screens :)

Definitely not a variety pack kind of person. There is never enough cereal in the small boxes :) I wouldn't say it is my favourite but Shredded Wheat is definitely the main cereal from my childhood, mainly because it was what my dad always had for breakfast. I'm not even sure what they are called but there used to be this cereal which was made up of little chocolate shells. If they are still around, I would totally buy them :)

Do you have a favourite cereal at the moment? Also, big question, what are your views on croissants?

Louise Boyd said...

That's good to know because there might be spiders living inside of me and therefore might sporadically explode in a cloud of arachnids at some point.

...
Let me explain:

Toast and a banana were on the lunch agenda today, thus I went through the usual routine of cutting awkwardly shapes slices (I'm terrible at slicing bread, idk why), plonking them in the toaster and hoping for the best.
All goes according to plan - I make excellent toast, even if it's weird looking; tea was consumed, a banana carefully peeled open.
All sustenance happily delivered to my belly.
But then I go the fruit bowl to tidy it up a bit - I like neatness, even in fruit form - and discover a weird mouldy looking patch on one of the bananas, promptly show it to Em who jokes it'll be spider eggs because the black bits in bananas were always spider eggs to us when we were little.
Haha, very funny, much hilarity is had.
But then she takes a closer look.
ACTUAL GODDAMN SPIDER EGGS AND TINY SPIDERS CRAWLING AROUND IN THEIR WEIRD LITTLE CLOUDY WEB OF UGHHHH.
>_<
...
She won't stop signing the There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly song at me 0_0
So, if you don't hear from me, it's because I've been taken over by eight legged freaks and can no longer come to the phone.
...
*-*

You don't like Variety Packs?! Sacrilege! Heresy! Apostasy!
You do know you can solve the problem of there not being enough cereal simply by eating more than one box, right?

Ps. The only croissant I will accept is a chocolate filled one from Tesco's bakery.
All the others taste like rancid butter to me 0_0
I hate buttery pastry even though I know that's what makes the ones I do like taste good >_<

Pps. I don't have a favourite cereal at the moment but I am craving something like a granola or a crisp, something with a crunch to it!
Or Kellogg's Raisin Wheats - they make milk taste amazing, or Special K, the berry one.
I dunno. Any cereal, really. If could try every cereal from the supermarket, I would :)

Dex said...

What?! I mean, I've read about things like that happening but I still can't believe it happened to you! I don't know if I will ever eat a banana again! I'm so sorry you went through that but I'm sure it must have only been on the one banana in the bowl!

Yes, that's the cereal! Thank you for finding it :) Have you ever tried it?
Also, I suppose that would be the most sensible thing to do with the variety packs :) You really are a cereal connoisseur :)

I do really like the Tesco chocolate croissants.

Louise Boyd said...

It better've been only the one banana!
I don't want my supervillain origin story to start with ingesting spiders.
Nuh uh.
That's not my narrative >_<

I have tried that cereal. It was in a variety pack :)
So good, and I'm probably going to have to get some from Tesco next time I'm there.
...
And a few others because... I'd say now I'm in the mood for cereal, but honestly, I'm always in the mood for cereal.
Em and I've been working our way through a box of honey cheerios lately. Don't eat them with raspberry yoghurt. It's not bad, but it's not good =/
That's what I get for trying to make a makeshift müller corner :)

Dex said...

For some reason, I thought they didn't sell that cereal anymore. I will definitely be looking out for it too!

Honey cheerios and raspberry yoghurt was a very worthwhile experiment though :) Do you often have yoghurt with cereal? I only ever did that on holiday in Norway but I really like it. Cereal, yoghurt and berries... It felt very summery :)

Louise Boyd said...

We have strawberries!
Tomorrow is gonna be a Norway kinda day.
Yoghurt, cheerios, my makeshift muesli (old people cereal is delicious when you add enough sugar), and sliced up strawberries.
It's going to taste weird in the best way *-*

We have Rice Krispies as well... should I throw them in for good measure?

What's Norway like? I've always want to go somewhere Scandinavian.

Dex said...

Norway is very pretty, that's the thing I remember the most :) Fjords, mountains, valleys, wooden houses... I would definitely love to spend another summer there.

Definitely throw the Rice Krispies in if you want to :)

Are you getting a heatwave in Blair?

Dex said...

I can't believe it might snow next week!

Dex said...

Did you make chocolate rice krispies a lot when you were growing up? I feel like it's something that most of us did. I always remember preferring them when they had just been made and spooned into the paper cupcake cases. Warm chocolate rice krispies were definitely preferable to the intended cold, set chocolate rice kripsies. Sorry, I think about the most ridiculous things :)

Louise Boyd said...

That's not ridiculous, that's the absolute correct way to eat chocolate Rice Krispies and I'd totally forgotten about it! >_<
You just nostalgia bombed my brain and I'm very happy about it :)

Short note, the RSI is back in my fingers.
I wrote one review and broken my tappers *-*

Dex said...

I love that we nostalgia bomb each other :) I worry that if I now made chocolate rice krispies I would be tempted to eat it directly out of the saucepan like a barbarian :) I know it's nothing compared to your sisters' baking but if any of your family go to Tesco, they could try looking out for the Tesco finest trillionaire cupcakes. They were very good. Also, had a Stargazer Magnum today :)

I'm really sorry that the RSI is back! I hope it doesn't affect your April monthly typing too much!

Louise Boyd said...

That's the one with popcorn in it, right?
I'm not the biggest fan of Magnums (weird chocolate flavour) but I love ice cream with stuff in it, so... I'm gonna need feedback to see if it's worth it.
Good? Bad? Life altering?

it's such a weird feeling, my left pinky, ring, and middle finger have this constant ache in them, and the right fingers aren't much better.
It will not stop, and normally this only lasts a day or so but it's been four days and I can't type for very long, and I'm wearing wrist braces, but what I really need are little worker bees to come move my fingers for me or just take over entirely while I dictate my nonsense 0_0
I've got so much typing to do >_<
It's sunny and trying to snow here, though, and I have mini Belgian waffles and Dr. Pepper to devour (probably not at the same time), so that's weird and nice :)

New show command: Class of '07 on Prime.
It's delightfully feral :)

Dex said...

Magnums are definitely overrated. I mean, it's only ice cream in chocolate! But the ones with a caramel layer are a bit better and this one did indeed also have popcorn bits in the shell. I mean, it's no mint Cornetto, but it'll do :)

If I was there, I would definitely let you dictate your monthlies to me to save your fingers from any extra stress! I hope the wrist braces do help a little. You deserve all the mini Belgian waffles and Dr Pepper to help with the aching! I haven't had Dr Pepper in so long!

It's pretty much the same weather here. It was very nice for a few days last week but became very windy at the weekend, and then cold and snowy today.

Thank you for the recommendation! I might mention it to Kerry as well as it sounds like something she would love!

Louise Boyd said...

Is it just me or has the ice cream industry lost its game?
Can they really ever top Cornetto? Callipo? Feast?!
It doesn't seem to matter how many things they throw at their new dairy creations, they're always kind of unsatisfying, and if I have to choose, I'm going with the classics, eg. Mars Bar Ice Cream. (I hate MBs, deeply loathe them, but whack some ice cream inside and I turn feral)
It's not even a struggle =/

It's so colddddddd! >_<
I hate the weather whiplash Spring backhands us with every year.
I can handle the random showers, they're fine, it's what hoods and umbrellas are for, but the one-minute-it's-hot-the-next-it'sfuckingfreezingkillmenowi'llsellmysoultobeelzebubforadropoffuckingsunshine?
Hellacious earthly behaviour *-*
It's not helping that I'm refusing to adorn knitwear again. I won't do it. I'll just shiver in my fleeced sweatshirt and complain like the stubborn bastard I am <_<

Have you seen the Northern Lights? Is that a dumb question to ask a Shetlander?
They were supposed to be visible here last night but no such luck :(

Dex said...

I think we are on the same page when it comes to ice creams, especially Mars Bars vs Mars Bars ice cream, but I knew we would be :D I think all my favourite ice creams are the classics!

It's so cold here too! It really isn't fair in April! I think we had the same weather today. Sunshine followed by showers followed by sunshine followed by more showers! Umbrellas don't work at all in Shetland because of the wind. I never see people carrying them. Do you use an umbrella?

Why don't you wear knitwear? Is it because of the itching? I think you told me once that you were allergic to wool?

This is embarrassing but I have never seen the Northern Lights despite living this far north! I hope we both get to see them one day!

Louise Boyd said...

How do you feel about cones, though?
Wafer cone? Waffle cone? Cookie cone? Or are you a tub with the little spoon kinda person? OR any which way it comes just as long as ice cream lands in your belly?
I'm the latter :)
But I do love waffle cones, to the point that I'd eat them on their own.
And tiny spoons.
You don't get those spoons with any other foodstuff. Isn't that weird?

Good memory! I am allergic to wool, so I wear synthetics instead to prevent me clawing my skin off (most jumpers are made of them anyway), but what I meant was: I'm not putting winter wear on again. I've done jumper season. The sun's back. I'm thinking about Frappucinos and ice poles again. I won't go back! Not even for warmth >_<
It is 9 degrees and sunny during the day right now, though, and it sucks balls.
And it's meant to rain for weeks :(
Umbrella weather's the worst, and no, I don't use one because every umbrella I've ever had has failed me. Escaped on a measly gust of wind, turned itself spine-side out, and disappeared into the wilderness.
Every. Fucking. Time.
Which is why I tend to buy jackets with hoods :)
Like your duffel coat! I bought one years ago and I love it but I still feel like a child wearing it.
I don't know why =/

I thought in Shetland the Northern Lights were the kind of thing you couldn't avoid?
As in, they're right there, big and bright, all up in your faces.
Has the internet lied to me again?

Dex said...

Wait! There is such a thing as waffle cones? And cookie cones? This is news to me! Please explain! I don't think I'm much of a wafer cone guy. But I do absolutely love Cornetto cones :) I haven't used one of the tiny ice cream spoons in ages!

I'm glad I remembered to wool allergy correctly. My memory is usually shocking! I can imagine you having an excellent selection of winter jumpers but it is ridiculous that it is cold enough to wear winter clothes at the end of April! It is terrible waking up and thinking it's a nice day, and then opening the front door to realise it is not! :)

This is definitely not the country for umbrellas. For some reason, we have about three in the house and I can't remember any of my family ever using one :) But my duffel coat definitely makes me feel like a child on its way to school whenever I put it on :)

No, I've never seen them, unless I didn't notice which is entirely possible :) Probably living in town has something to do with it. Maybe one day we should take a trip to a remote area in the north part of Shetland. I think that is the best place to see them...

Louise Boyd said...

If you've had a Cornetto, then you've had a waffle cone! But you get really boujee ones from ice cream parlours that have stuff rolled in the batter, or they're dipped in chocolate, etc.
Wafer cones are the ones 99ers come in.
And cookie cones are even boujee-er than waffle cones. I've yet to have one but I'm pretty sure it'd blow my mind.

Okay, but you're gonna have to provide the horse tranquillisers to get me on a boat. Which, by the way, are not for motion sickness (I don't get that) but to put my wild imagination to sleep so my fear of the ocean and all its unseen critters don't turn me into a feral, fearful monster rocking in the cabin corner waiting for the Kraken to come eat me *-*
I'm not even joking.
It's too deep, Dexterous! He/she could be down there! 0_0 And I'm full of starch! Delicious starch >_<

Dex said...

I did not know Cornettos had waffle cones! In that case, I'm totally in favour of them. Have you had some very fancy waffle cones? I wish mine were always dipped in chocolate :)

I am very jealous of you not getting motion sickness! I'm really bad for it. On the boat, I usually have to lie down the entire journey. In cars, if I'm a passenger, I can't be in there for more than 15 minutes without feeling queasy. And I haven't been on one in a long time, but I was always sick on planes! I like trains though. It's a pity they don't have any up here although I suppose that would be ridiculous :)

I do totally get having a fear of the sea. It's a dark, deep place full of monsters! I don't know why anyone would go in it out of choice!

Louise Boyd said...

My mum and sister are exactly the same with motion sickness and they both don't get it on trains.
There's a reason, though!
I looked it up, because of course I did.
Apparently it's a whole inner ear thing, where the motion you see it different from the motion you feel.
So on a train you're going fast but it's a very static kind of speed, smooth and without the bumps and changes in direction you'd experience in a car.
In a car your body is constantly trying to recalibrate for constant changes and the fluid in your ear can't settle: thus nausea. It's same thing as watching a movie with steady and cam and feeling sick.
And I guess on a plane it's to do with air pressure and that you probably feel like you're going slower than your body expects, but I'm just guessing with that one.
Multitasking, basically.
Your body feels like it should be doing one thing, but the speed it's travelling disrupts that equilibrium!
Boom! Science!
:D

I don't get motion sickness but I can't text and walk :)

I just had an epic vision of train tracks laid over the course of Lerwick, just to drop people off like a bus would.
Like Ivor the Engine!
Have you even seen that show?
It's so lovely.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2050554481855309

Dex said...

I love that you look these things up and share them with me :) I had no idea the inner ear had such a massive effect on motion sickness! I will definitely be judging my inner ear from now on :) You are probably right about the plane too! I also never like feeling stuffy when I travel. That makes me feel ill too :S

I probably hardly attempt to text and walk because I really do lack awareness of my surroundings when I do that :)

Kerry and I were talking about Ivor the Engine just the other day! Kerry used to watch it when she was growing up but she hardly knew anyone else who did. I did not know it had a dragon!

Louise Boyd said...

Idris! Lovely Idris with the beautiful singing voice :)
The red dragon on our roof is named in his honour :):):)
I can thank my mother for this awesome weirdness and for "forcing" us to watch the show as kids.
Kerry's the only other person i've come across who's watched it as well! Why is no one else watching this lovely ass cartoon?!
It's like The Herbs. No one's watched it and it's maddening because it's perfect! A friend from high school was the only person I've shared my love of it with, but since then? Nada. Nobody. Wtf?????
If Kerry watched it as a kid, it'll make my friggin day ^-^

Louise Boyd said...

Ps. I love looking stuff up. I'm not the best at research but ohhhh I love asking google to give me answers to muddle through :)

Dex said...

Your family really are the best. I love that you have named the red dragon Idris :D Also, I didn't know that you had a red dragon on your roof! Any other ornaments that I should be aware of around your house?

I will definitely ask Kerry about The Herbs. I don't know if my mind is playing tricks but I want to say that I have a faint recollection of Parlsey the Lion...

I think you and Kerry definitely share a love of looking things up. I really am the worst at that sort of thing :)

Louise Boyd said...

Parsleyyyyy! Yesssss!
And Dill the Dog, Tarragon the dragon, Mr and Mrs Onion and their children The chives.
Bayleaf the gardener! Sage the Owl! And tonnes more.
It was so freaking cute and stop-motion from the seventies is just the best >_<
I have a visceral reaction to the theme tune. It's so comforting:

https://youtu.be/5gb1JClFvfo

Ps. We have a weird little Chinese dog ornament down by the pond and some metal chicken that refuse to stand up.
Other people do gnomes, we're slowly building a sanctuary for mythical beasts... because chickens are clearly part dragon =/

Dex said...

I love that feeling when watching old children's tv :) I wonder if Freya would feel the same about these shows. I mean, we enjoyed them and they were made years before we were born. I wish you could introduce Freya to all these things :)

Your house really is some kind of magical place. And I'm sure there are some spirits who disguise themselves as chickens :)

Louise Boyd said...

Oh, I love the idea of chicken spirits.
Maybe that's why they're always knocked over even though we repeatedly stand them up. Chicken roughhousing :D

Freya's a creature full of whimsy, I'd bet she'd appreciate clunky stop motion they way we do.
Has she seen any Aardmans?
You gotta make her watch The Were-Rabbit if she hasn't already >_<

Dex said...

This is terrible to admit but I'm really not sure if she has seen any :S But we should definitely make her watch The Were-Rabbit even if she has seen it before :D And The Wrong Trousers too. I really identified with the dead eyed penguin :) Is there a channel dedicated to old children's tv and films? I feel like there should be!

Either roughhousing or returning from adventures :) I do like to think of your house being like something out of Ghibli, with dust bunnies and tree spirits. And Charlie, of course! Hopefully you have a Totoro sleeping somewhere too :)

Louise Boyd said...

I mean, Charlie does like to nest in ornamental grasses and snooze in the sunshine, but he's nowhere near as nice as Totoro. He put my whole finger in his mouth when I was feeding him chicken, earlier. I yelped with absolutely no dignity =/

Wait... you identify with Feathers McGraw?
That's worrying, Dexterous!
I identify with the dopey bunnies from Were-Rabbit ^-^
Feed me carrots and I'm happy.

Hands update!
Slightly more serious than RSI, it's potentially and most likely something called Ulnar Nerve Entrapment or Cubital Tunnel Syndrome.
It's an irritated nerve in my forearm/elbow area. Not nerve damage but it could lead to that.
My pinky and ring finger on my left hand are numb and tingly and achey and they feel they don't belong on my hand. The right hand's doing it ever so slightly as well.
It's most likely from the way I type, hold things, yoga, etc. Could be from anything, basically but it's weird and painful and I'm a little freaked out about it, and typing's basically verboten, so if I don't message back for a couple of days, I'm just resting my arm and doing my rehab exercises and hopefully not having to visit the doctor.
I hate the doctor >_<
Bodies are so fucking stupid. I don't think I mistreat mine but holy shit, it acts like do =/

Dex said...

Charlie really is a delightful monster. I'm just glad he gave your finger back. I know how much he likes to claim your things for his own :)

I'm not clever enough to be Feathers :) And I'd much rather be a dopey bunny with you (not that I think you are dopey at all!).

Thank you for the update, Lilliputty. Please just reply when you can. You know I'll still be here leaving boring messages no matter how long you take to reply :) I'm really glad that you have some idea of what it might be so you can do the right kind of exercises and give your arms plenty of rest. You are genuinely amazing in getting your April monthly posted! I don't like going to the doctor either so hopefully you can sort it out on your own. You deserve to be brought all kinds of food while you rest :)

Dex said...

I spoke to my parents this morning. Well, it was afternoon there (they are 7 hours ahead). They haven't been doing much at all except hanging out on the farm. My mother gets up early every morning to take photo of the sunrise. And she is renovating her family home in town. I don't know why she keeps taking on projects! The garden at the farm looks very nice though. They are always happy when it rains as the plants need it. The rain there is usually very heavy and straight down. And warm enough that you can take a shower in it! Just thought I would tell you a little bit about what they've been up to :)

Dex said...

I hope you have an excellent weekend, Lilliputty, and that your hands feel slightly better. I don't think I'll be doing much at all except watching tv in the living room. I bought these fancy chocolate eclairs the other day - instead of whipped cream, they are filled with chocolate mousse :)

Dex said...

My parents have been posting photos of a beach they visited. The water is ridiculously blue, like something from a Pixar film. Not that I'm jealous at all :)

Louise Boyd said...

Genuinely pains me not to trade words with you almost every day :( :( :(
BUT! My hands are getting better, but it's not the Ulnar Nerve thing, it's my Raynaud's Disease.
I don't know why it happened so aggressively this time but I must have gotten repeatedly really cold and it's damaged some of the nerves in my hands and toes, so they basically ache and feel numb at the same time.
T'isn't irreversible, I've just gotta be more aware of my temperature, stress levels, and remember to take the metric fuck tonne of pills I've now gotta swallow three times a day.
Invisible illnesses, yay! *-*
Also! I'm being forced to walk every night to get my blood flowing more efficiently.
...
I don't hate walking but my dad's a Walker (not the capital) and I swear he's trying to kill me, which seems counterproductive?
Plus, we keep encountering dogs with attitude problems and I just want a cudddleeee >_<
...
So, yeah, the problems I've been having are most likely fixable but it's gonna be a few weeks until we know for sure if I'm a complete human disaster ^-^
But at least in the meantime I get tales of chocolate mousse eclairs (YUM! NOT JEALOUS AT ALL!) and Pixar blue water, and rain like shower water from my favourite guy :) :) :)

I don't know how you feel about Sci-fi, or if you've even seen Dune, but I've watched the trailer for the second movie about a million times already.
I am very excited 0_0

Dex said...

The most important thing is that your hands are getting better! And that you've figured out things you can do to help them. So please don't worry about not being able to reply every day. You know you'll never be able to get rid of me :)

I hope you start to meet friendlier dogs on your walks. You deserve all the dog cuddles :) How long are these walks with your Walker dad?! My parents are very much Walkers too so maybe they would get along :) Before my dad got very old, they went on a few mountain walking holidays in the Himalayas. Thankfully, it wasn't mountain climbing. My parents aren't that ridiculous :)

I'd like if you were comfortably warm and non stressed all the time. I didn't realise you had to take so many pills! You should definitely be allowed to have something sugary each time you have to swallow them :) I bought some rhubarb crumble today. It's only the Tesco ones that come in a small pot that you microwave but I'm still looking forward to it :) Random question - apple pie or apple crumble? We may have asked each other this before...

I've never seen Dune (either the original or remake) but I know that the director of the new films is the guy who did Blade Runner 2049 so I imagine they look very, very good! Do you think you will go to the cinema to watch it? Also, have you read the book?

Dex said...

Tourist season has started in Shetland. Do you get many tourist in Blair? I'm not sure if I've told you this but we get a lot of cruise ships stopping by during summers. I have no idea why anyone would want to take a cruise up here! :)

Dex said...

I've thought of another thing I wanted to ask you :) Do you have a favourite Marvel film or films? Kerry is a big fan of them but I've hardly seen any. I have a feeling you probably both like a lot of the same ones...

Dex said...

Thursday night is Taskmaster night. I don't know if you've been watching the new episodes but Mae Martin is definitely the best one!

Dex said...

We actually had a summer's day today! Apparently that's our lot for a couple of weeks but it was nice while it lasted :)

Louise Boyd said...

Mae Martin has one of those faces I just want to look at (anime character come to life, I'm sure of it) and a voice I love to hear.
The fact that they're funny and seemingly lovely is just the icing.
The only bit I've seen of the show is a challenge where one person has to find a bunch of spoons whilst blindfolded and being directed by their squeaky-voiced "helpers".
Mae sounded like Mickey Mouse and it was delightful :)
Em and I are actually watching previous seasons on Netflix in the kitchen at the moment. Tim Vine is killing me.

Marvel Movies? I used to love them, I really did, and still think Thor: Ragnarok and Captain America: The Winter Soldier are kickass, but I just don't have the patience for the abysmal storytelling anymore =/
They've wound themselves in so many narrative knots that the MCU is basically a giant rat-king at this point.
So messy. So unnecessarily bleak.
I miss the fun! Which is why I liked She-Hulk so much. It was just stupid comic book fun, y'know?
What have you seen in the Marvel-verse?

Blair's weirdly big on tourists. I'd say it was the berry fields (brings in tons of students and foreigners looking for summer work) but people just like coming to my boring little town.
I don't get it =/
There's nothing to do!
At least Lerwick's on an island and probably has some weird lore surrounding it!

Ps. Apple Crumble. No shade to pie - pies fucking amazing - but the streusel stuff on top of the crumble that's soaked up all the fruit juice? NOM.
I do have a bad habit of stealing just the streusel, though. Em gives me into trouble :)

Pps. I had to stop walking because I pulled a tendon in my foot! *is a human disaster*
That's how bonkers a Walker my dad is 0_0 He and your rentals would get on just fine.

Dex said...

Season 6 is one of the few series of Taskmaster that I haven't seen yet! The only clip I've seen is when Kerry made me watch Alex sitting on a cake :) Kerry has a bit of a thing for Mae as well! One of my favourite moments so far is when they do a medium reading on Alex and they disturb him out with all the information they know about him.

I think the only Marvel films I have seen are Iron Man 3, The Avengers (the first one) and Guardians of the Galaxy (also the first one). I really should watch Ragnarok and The Winter Soldier since both you and Kerry say they are the best ones! I would definitely prefer stupid comic book fun over convoluted storytelling any day :)

Sorry, I realise I have mentioned Kerry about 5 times so far!

Blair must be quite pretty if it attracts tourists :) I forgot to tell you that something big happening in Lerwick this summer is the Tall Ships race. Have you heard of that? Basically large sailing boats have a race around several ports in Europe each year and they occasionally come up here (I think the last time they came here was 2011). It is basically an excuse to have a four day party - tickets for events went on sale yesterday so everything seemed a bit mad with so many people being very excited. Obviously, I wasn't one of them :)

You really are the best food thief :) You are really making me want an apple crumble right now but the shop bought ones will definitely not be a patch on Emily's!

I'm sorry about your foot! Your dad must have made you do some pretty serious walking! I hope you are spending this weekend with your feet up and having apply crumble brought to you :)

Dex said...

I ended up buying some apple crumble from Tesco. I'm very suggestible to dessert ideas :)

Dex said...

I hope summer has started in Blair. We have had a couple of nice days recently so it might be on its way! Do you want to know something stupid that I do? I check the forecast for Blair quite frequently to see what kind of weather you might be having :S

Dex said...

I have a couple of days off tomorrow and Thursday so I will be heading to Tesco after work to load up on sugar :)

Louise Boyd said...

YOU'RE NEVER ALLOWED TO NOT BE MY BFF >_<
That's so niceeeeee *-*
And we have been having nice weather! Pretty warm. Much sun. Only a bit of rain. My Vit D levels are most certainly up :)
I'm just hoping we aren't going to have our entire summer in the May. That happens sometimes and it sucks =/

I will be jealous of everything you buy for your days off (especially if there's crumble involved) but I gotta tell you... Sarah made maple pecan sticky buns *-*
They were are majestic as they sound.
As long as you're a nut person.
Are you a nut person?

Lerwick racks up some serious action for such a tiny island.
A sail boat race?
That's so... boujee :D
And makes me think of Dawson's Creek. They had this episode with a regatta race and there was some serious testosterone poisoning going on.
I don't know how you can swing your dick around on sometime a pretty as a sailboat but... *shrug*
Is it like that? Or is everyone just drunk off their asses?

Ps. I think I could happily movie marathon with Kerry - because we clearly have identical, perfect taste in films - as long as she didn't make me watch any Agatha Christie.
Props to the Murder Mystery Queen but I need a bit more... gore :)

Dex said...

I do sometimes wonder if you and Kerry met each other, you would cut me out since you would have so many things you could enjoy together :)

It is very important to me to know when you're having nice weather :) Do you get light evenings during summer in Blair? At the moment, I don't even have to think about closing the curtains until after 9pm! I can't believe it's going to be getting even lighter for another month :) I do love this time of the year in Shetland even when the weather isn't particularly nice. Light evenings and mornings make such a difference to my mood. Although we really pay for it from October to January!

I've actually never been to the Tall Ships. I think they only come up here every 12 years. It does seem strange that this will only be the third time in my life that I will have had a chance to experience it. I do have a vague recollection of watching some of the ships sail away but that is all. Apparently, the last time they were up here in 2011, the weather was terrible! I have a feeling it is not like Dawson's Creek at all :) I don't think the racing part is terribly competitive and reading up on it, the whole thing seems to be used as training for young people. Sorry if I've shattered your illusions about what it will be like :) There will be a lot of events though and knowing the locals, a lot of people will use it as an excuse for drinking!

Maple pecan sticky buns do sound very majestic! Hopefully eating ridiculous amounts of Ferrero Rocher qualifies me as a nut person :) And I do very much enjoy a maple and pecan plait from Tesco bakery so clearly I would demolish the sticky buns :)

Boujee... you are always teaching me new words. Like I said, I haven't been to the Tall Ships but I'm going to assume that word sums it up perfectly :)

Dex said...

Back to work tomorrow but at least it is only for one day and then it's the weekend :) Lerwick really is swarming with tourists at the moment!

Dex said...

I'm a monster. I bought a giant family pack of Cadbury's chocolate fingers to demolish over the weekend! I'm embarrassed to say how many I have already eaten :S Do you have a favourite chocolate biscuit?

Also, do you want to know something bizarre? For some reason, I'm actually starting to miss my parents a little bit!

Dex said...

I was re-reading 'All My Friends Are Superheroes' this weekend. You gave it to me years ago. It is such a lovely book :)

Don't talk dirty to me, Dexterous, I'm ill-prepared 0_0
...
I'm guessing it's fucking amazing, yeah? <_<
I am full of hate and envy >_<

Two things: All My Friends Are Superheroes is a lovely book and I was just thinking about it! (I've lost it somewhere in my room =/ ). Coincidence? Or some weird bff mind-syncing sorcery?
I'm thinking the latter. Can you be a coven of two? I don't think you can but I'm making an exception for us.
Second thing: A family packs of Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers barely counts as a packet of biscuits. They're so teeny tiny, you need at least ten to make up one Penguin!
Now, if you'd eaten two family packs, then I might've been concerned :)
My biscuit of choice to smash in a weekend is really boring: Digestives.
Just your regular Digestive, no chocolate, no caramel, just biscuit. I love them *-*

Ps. I've have officially added you to my weather app. You're being watched 0_0 :D

Pps. Kerry and I wouldn't cut you out, we need you for random facts and snacks and general Dex-ness.
It's a very important role. Especially the snacks. If Kerry's anything like me, then we're the human equivalent of Mogwai ^-^

Sorry for the short message, I really am intending to write a more full reply later but I just wanted to share my morning adventure with you :) I've been awake since 4.30am. We had a very large electricity bill for the house in Sandness based on an estimated reading so I decided that I needed to go there while my parents are still away and get the actual readings. Obviously, I hate driving when the roads are busy so I thought that the best thing would be to go there very early in the morning to avoid the traffic. So I woke up at 4.30am, started my journey about 4.40am and arrived home at 6.30am (the time I normally wake up). The drive to Sandness is about 50 minutes each way. Also, I realised when I got there that I didn't actually know where the meter was. I assumed it would be inside and above the front door (the same as in Lerwick) but it wasn't so I spent about 10 minutes searching for it. It turned out to be in a wooden box on the side of the house! And then I immediately drove home. Also, I decided to take my parents' BMW (or mid life crisis mobile as Kerry calls it) to give it a run.

Sorry, it really wasn't much of an adventure, but I wanted to tell you about it :) The most exciting thing that happened was that there were 3 spiders in the bathtub when I got there so I had to throw them out :)

I like that you are watching me, or rather the weather :) I see that Blair should be having a ridiculously nice day today. I hope you manage to read in the garden with Charlie :) I just have time to have my salted caramel cereal before work!

Dex said...

There are never as many chocolate fingers in a box as I think there should be, not even in a family pack :) And Digestives are an excellent choice of favourite biscuit. I remember when I was young that some people used to put butter on them. Did you ever do that? I definitely prefer a normal Digestive to the chocolate variety, although they did used to sell this double chocolate version which was pretty special :)

We are definitely a two person coven :) I hope you manage to find your copy of the book in your room. It must be very easy to lose books in there!

I would always bring you and Kerry snacks :)

Dex said...

If you do watch this series of Taskmaster, I would definitely be very interested to get your opinion on the contestants!

Dex said...

I know it will be nothing compared to your sisters' baking but I bought some fancy apple pie from Tesco tonight. It was a hard day (a very angry person on the phone) so I thought I deserved it :) I am taking Monday and Tuesday off too so long weekend!

Dex said...

Weekend alone in the house since my sibling is at work. It is definitely going to feel weird when my parents come home and things aren't so quiet!

Louise Boyd said...

I'm afraid I'm going to have trump your adventure with one sister spending a day in hospital 0_0
She's fine, totally fine, but we've discovered that gallbladders are real assholes!
Sarah and the parental spent 12 hours in the hospital, though, just waiting for a doctor to give a fuck.
I'm so glad we have the NHS, but it's a totally fucked system.
At least she's fine, though, after much, MUCH pain. She's gotta go back and get an ultrasound the day before Em's birthday, however. Timing!
...
I'm bad with my words today, which is terrible because I haven't messaged you in five days and I feel shitty about it, but damn, things have been happening!
First me with my funny circulation, then Sarah and her gallstones, and my gran fell yesterday and bruised her ribs.
I'm starting to think someone put a curse on my family *-*
...
But how are you?

Ps. I hate the angry person on the phone for having no self-restraint and being mean to you. HATE them. I will curse them with a permanently itchy cheekbone :)

Dex said...

Thank you for messaging with all that your family have been going through! You really didn't have to. You know that I never mind if you take ages to reply so long as you're okay.

I'm glad that Sarah is okay despite having to wait 12 hours just to see a doctor while being in so much pain! So ridiculous! And I really hope Emily is still able to enjoy her birthday with all this going on. She definitely deserves to enjoy it!

And your gran as well! You have the best family and you don't deserve all this bad luck! I hope you are not worrying too much. I'm just saying that because I am such a worrier when it comes to family members. I wish we could protect them from all these bad things!

Dex said...

Day off today so I've spent it in a zombie state on my bed while watching prime :S

Dex said...

I wonder why BBC and Met Office never quite match up. Usually one is being optimistic and the other pessimistic. Still not much sun here in Lerwick but I'm choosing to believe the Met Office forecast for tomorrow!

Dex said...

Taskmaster final tonight!

Louise Boyd said...

Thank you for all the well wishes, Dexterous :)
Sorry it took me a few days to message back, it's been kinda hectic with the run-up to Em's birthday, but we made it!
Fingers crossed nothing else goes wrong *-*
And for good weather. The BBC's telling me it'll sunny and warm for days and days but... my pessimist cells are grumbling <_<

Watch anything good on Prime in your zombie state?
Y'alright, Dexterous? Or just the usual level of knackered?

I'm going to predict that Mae Martin will not win Taskmaster, even though I want them to.
So much Canadian chaos in one human :)

Dex said...

I'm sorry for the late reply Lilliputty. I didn't get home until 3.30am last night because Kerry made me watch this terrible (but entertaining) tv series from the 2000s called Harper's Island :) Have you ever seen it? I bet you have as you have seen most things :)

I really hope Emily enjoyed her birthday. She totally deserved to and not just because she makes the most amazing baked goods :) What kind of cake did you have? I know I should't ask as it always makes me jealous but I must know :)

Both met office and BBC say that the weather is supposed to be amazing in Blair today so I hope that's true and that you enjoy ridiculous amounts of sun! We have a very nice day yesterday but today is more cloudy. I don't know how my parents are going to cope with returning to the UK after months in a very hot climate. They are supposed to by flying back this weekend but should be staying in Aberdeen with Freya for a little while (not that I'm jealous at all).

I was just watching some of the US The Office. I haven't watched it in quite a while and it really is excellent background tv :)

I won't spoil Taskmaster for you :)

Dex said...

We actually had a very warm weekend! I had two long walks for the first time in a long time! I'm sure I'm not at your dad's walking level though :)

Louise Boyd said...

Y'know when you're walking, do you do anything? Listen to music/audiobook, talk to yourself in your head, collect stuff.
Or do you just... walk?
I'm not very good at walking without purpose *-*

Oh. My. God.
I'd forgotten about Harper's Island!
It really was terrible and I never got to see what happened in the end, but imagine it was as equally stupid as the rest of the show 0_0
It did have Bobby from Supernatural in it, though, so it get a few points. But only a few.

Em had an okay birthday, she really struggles with the day because it bums her out (bums me out, too but she takes it really hard), but it was as good as we could make it by playing Mario Kart and Guitar Hero - I still suck and swear like a sailor :) - and feeding her pizza, cheesecake, and presents.
There were also those maple cookies I sent your years ago, and homemade madeleines.
So fucking good. My sisters can bake!
Proven by Sarah making banana blondies and Soda Bread yesterday.
It's been a good weekend for food, if not mood :)

Freyyyaaaaaaaa >_<
...
That is all :)

I saw the first ten minutes of the Taskmaster finale and I am in love with Mae Martin in a Sgt Pepper outfit, but also slightly traumatised by the Greg dummy x_x

Ps. I'm so itchy :) It's Summmmerrrrr!

Dex said...

Summer itchiness? Is that heat, hay fever, midges... All three :)

My parents should be seeing Freya tomorrow :) Or rather today since it is now after midnight! I'll definitely be video calling the first chance I get :)

Harper's Island really was hilariously awful but I won't spoil it for you just in case you ever feel like watching it. Not sure in what crazy alternate reality that would ever happen :) You and Kerry do seem to have a superpower to recognise any actor from Supernatural. Can you also do it with Teen Wolf?

I would love to play Mario Kart with you and your sisters. Do you always choose the same character? I'm glad Emily did something like that on her birthday to help get her through it. I hope she didn't struggle too much. I'm sure you helped her to enjoy it a little bit. Because she really deserved to! And you both definitely deserved all those baked goods :) I remember those maple cookies very well! You really have sent me the nicest things over the years. I'm very lucky :)

I really just think a lot when I'm walking. Quite often quoting things from films and tv shows in my head like a weirdo :)

I hope you enjoy the rest of the Taskmaster finale despite the disturbing Greg dummy :)

Dex said...

My parents are back in the UK now. Not sure when they are coming back up to Shetland. They were going to stay for a while in Aberdeen (so hopefully I'll get lots of video calls with Freya) and the boat to Shetland seems to be fully booked at the moment!

Dex said...

Freya is still calling me a cupcake :)

Dex said...

There's a leaving party in the office tomorrow. I'm hoping for plenty of cake!

Dex said...

Parents are home on Monday so just enjoying my last weekend of quiet! :)

Louise Boyd said...

Quiet? What is quiet?
Do you have noisy neighbours?
I swear to all that's unholy that everyone in a two metre radius of us is either using power tools or having people over 0_0
The people who live across the little path from us were having some sort of table tennis tournament today and I hate myself for being such an old person about it, but I honestly wanted to commit some murder >_<
...
But other than that it's been real nice in Blair :) I think we're supposed to get hot, stormy weather tomorrow, and I love summer storms.
Any storms really, but summer ones especially ^-^ So much drama.

Did you get leaving party cake? What flavour? Good frosting?
It'd be so nice if you were just, I dunno, going to pick up some milk and someone gave you a cake before you did.

Teen Wolf is not my forte. I have some love for it because of Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Hoechlin, but I wasn't crazy about the show.
Buffy is a different story. I knew who Pedro Pascal was before everyone else, before even the Game of Thrones fans :)

Ps. Of course she still calls you cupcake. The real question is, does she still pound your pillow face with her tiny fists of fury?

Dex said...

Noisy neighbours are the worst! I'm sorry the people around you aren't more considerate. I'm sure we manage to go through life without making too much noise that annoys other people. It's really not that difficult! Poor Kerry lives next to the galley shed so she has to cope with all the preparations for Up Helly Aa (which seems to be all year round) and also a neighbour who she calls 'motorbike wanker' :)

I did my best to avoid the leaving party even though it meant I missed out on cake. There were even speeches! Not my scene at all :) There was another retirement party for the same person last night but Kerry and I decided not to go. We definitely thought we made the right choice when we were enjoying our Saturday night in front of the tv :)

Do you still do your annual Buffy series watch?

Sorry, I do feel so tired tonight. My parents are back tomorrow so I had to spend the day cleaning the house. And I have to get up to pick them up from the boat at 7.30am. Such a hard life :)

I keep forgetting to ask about the punching pillow :) She was too busy using filters to turn herself into a scary clown the last time I spoke to her :)

I hope you enjoy the summer storms tomorrow if they happen!

Dex said...

Parents are now home!

Dex said...

I did manage to help myself to leftover tray bake from the office party for lunch today. There was a very nice coconut one that I think you would have liked :)

Louise Boyd said...

Coconut traybake?! Fuck yeah!
Y'know how the Cookie Monster feels about cookies? Thats's how I feel about coconut. Combine the two and I'm putty *-*

Nooooo no no, not clowns >_<
I think we may have found Freya's one flaw.
Was she at least a cute clown... ? 0_0
And how are the rentals? Back in one piece? I can't imagine your mum ever gets anything as weak and feeble as travel exhaustion, in my head she's like mum from The Incredibles, high energy and always on the go.

Sorry, it's just... motorbike wanker xD
I feel for Kerry, I really do, we have one of those a couple of houses down and the wanker in question likes to rev his engine like he's in the Fast and the fucking Furious whenever he drives off to, I dunno, pretend he's Dom Toretto :)
I don't know why people can't just shut the fuck up. Or at least have decent taste in music if they're going to blast their music at me while they barbecue.
It's like listening to Radio 1's best of on repeat *-*

Dex said...

I'm sure your sisters could make even better coconut tray bake :) The one good thing about working in an office is that I occasionally get access to other people's baking :)

She was a scary clown! It definitely amuses her to terrify me :) I'm not sure how the rentals coped with her energy levels after almost 2 days on planes and in airports! She kept sitting in between them and asking to be squeezed :)

Thank you for asking, Maggot. My dad has been very tired since he got back but he is very old so I'm not surprised! I don't think he slept much while travelling. Obviously, you are right about my mum and she has been keeping herself busy since she got back :)

Do you want to know something shocking? I've never seen any of the Fast and the Furious films! Not even the first one :S Obviously, I know that cars and Vin Diesel are involved :)

I don't know why it is so difficult for some people to go through life while not making loud noises that annoy other people. I'm sure that you and I manage to be relatively quite most of the time :) It is very loud in the office too. We sometimes have the radio on to drown out the noise of other people but it's not much better. Fortunately, it's not Radio 1 but I'm not a fan of Radio 2 either. I think the only other person's playlists I have ever really enjoyed have been yours. I would definitely love you to soundtrack my day :)

Dex said...

Have you had the Oreo ice cream cones? They are like Cornettos but even better!

Dex said...

I hope you had the summer storms! No storms here but is has been very warm, yesterday in particular.

Dex said...

Kerry made me watch the first episode of Good Omens the other night. I was sure you would approve :)

Louise Boyd said...

I'm glad Kerry's there to bully you into watching things I've been verbally bullying you to watch for ages.
Physical proximity seems the key to getting you to fill your brain with awesome stories *-*
Did you enjoy it?
You better have.
The Ineffable Husbands are the sweetest.
When you're done with that, you should watch Staged.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/p08dnl67/staged?seriesId=p08dnlhc

It's basically Tennant and Sheen being absolute goblins to each over Skype during lockdown.
It's adorable and bonkers funny :)

No storms as of yet, they come tomorrow night.
I'm going to be happy about it for a day and then really pissy because I can't go outside and gently dissolve in the sunshine like I have been for the past week.
And it's going to go on for days and days and days... >_<
I would genuinely move to a planet that had a microclimate that was connected to your mood.
I could will it be the perfect summer, every day 0_0

She kept sitting in between them and asking to be squeezed :)

Stop it.
x_x

You're brain is probably a lot healthier not being full of Vin Diesel driving really fast cars in really silly ways, but they do have a sort of charm.
Especially the more absurd they get.
But what you really want to see is the spinoff with Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson, Hobbs and Shaw.
They hate each other, but act like an old married couple, and beat people up and stuff.
It's a fucking riot :D

Ps. Oreo ice cream cones are stellar. I wouldn't sacrifice Cornettos for them, but until they bring out an Oreo flavour...
Why is ice cream just better from a cone?
You could make one at home and it would still be superior to a bowl. What sorcery is that?

Dex said...

Who would be crazy enough to eat ice cream out of something you have to wash rather than something that's delicious to eat :)

I do totally get the charm of watching cars in space or leaping from skyscraper to skyscraper :) I remember seeing the trailer for Hobbs and Shaw and thought it looked quite entertaining. And I always do find something extremely amusing about Jason Statham's face, like he's acting sarcastically but is not fully aware of it :)

I did just watch the first episode of Good Omens and will definitely watch the rest :) I wish you were here to bully me into watching things too but you did make me read the book which I am very grateful for :D Staged does sound perfect for you :)

We should definitely be allowed to choose our weather. It rained heaving here this afternoon and I stupidly left the house this morning without a coat :S What would you say was your ideal summer temperature?

Dex said...

I know you don't want me to go on about this but I love that we are still best friends after all these years. It really makes a big difference to my life knowing that I can come home and write a message to my Maggot to tell her about something ridiculous that has happened that day, or to vent about something annoying :) Or, more likely, to tell her about what sugar I have had :)

I love hearing your news too. I really do hope everything is okay with you. That your body isn't being a brat by giving your random aches and pains, and that your family (including Charlie of course) are managing to enjoy the summer. Has Sarah completely recovered from the hospital visit?

I'm sorry I never really have anything important to say as my life is very boring. I am very fed up with work and just the general state of everything so sometimes think it's better to keep all my negativity on the inside even though I love sharing everything with you :) I wish I could just spend all my time doing things with you, Kerry and Freya :)
